EVENT HISTORY
We've been hosting this event for the past 4 years, and it has provided us a look at prominent players who've later gone on to receive invitations to select events, like the Prep Baseball Future Games and Illinois State Games. Among those in attendence of the South Suburban Summer ID event in 2025, 6 have already made commitments.
Last Years Commitments
- Aaron Katz (Hinsdale Central, 2026; Highland CC)
- David Klein (Nazareth Academy, 2026; Joliet JC)
- Adam Kozak (Lockport, 2026; Lewis University)
- Mason Meskimen (Lincoln-Way East, 2026; Kishwaukee JC)
- Matt Oberts (Lincoln-Way West, 2026; Wisconsin-Platteville)
- Emmitt Senger (Marist, 2026; Loras College)
- Mason Sauder (Metamora, 2026; Carl Sandburg JC)
We're looking forward to checking in on the next crop of talent from this event to earn next-level attention in the coming weeks, months, and years.
2026 ROSTER
This year's roster is already shaping up nicely, just like in years past.
|
Riley Cook SS / RHP / New Trier Township HS Northfield, IL / 2028From April 11th: "Uncommitted. Currently ranked No. 32 in the state. Athletic 6-foot-3, 176-pound frame. Batted eighth and played shortstop for the Trevians. Defensively, Cook's natural and confident actions stand out both pre-game and in-game, showing confident hands up the middle paired with a quick release and an accurate arm that allows him to make throws from anywhere on the diamond. An uncommitted sophomore name to continue to follow as we enter the summer" |
|
Tommy Gasner 1B / LHP / Huntley, IL / 2028From August 5th: |
|
Isaiah Martin OF / 2B / Lane Technical High School, IL / 2027From April 11th: "Uncommitted. Currently ranked No. 90 in the state. Athletic, twitchy 5-foot-10, 177-pound frame. Batted eighth and played centerfield for the Champions. The right-handed hitter collected two hits on the day, flashing the ability to be on the barrel to the pull side. He has a slightly uphill path with length through the zone. Defensively, he shows easy range and the ability to get to any ball in center, while also possessing the foot speed to be a threat on the bases, collecting a stolen base in the game. An uncommitted name to continue to follow throughout the spring" |
|
Jonah Sloane RHP / OF / St. Laurence, IL / 2028From August 5th: |
|
Jenner Smith RHP / OF / Hersey, IL / 2028From April 30th: "Uncommitted, currently ranked No. 27 in the state. 6-foot-3, 190-pound frame, high-waisted with broad shoulders, room to continue to add strength. Started on the mound and battled over six innings, allowing five earned runs with two walks and nine strikeouts. Not an easy day to pitch with some rain and low-40s temperatures, Smith held 80-81 mph throughout all six innings, also mixing in a sharp 11/5 curveball he could land in the zone whenever he wanted, 68-70 mph. High-ceiling arm to follow that is also intriguing with the bat" |
|
Owen Sunderson SS / RHP / Hinsdale Central, IL / 2027From May 21st: "Uncommitted. 6-foot-0, 180-pounds, athletic, lean frame. Multiple sport athlete, football. Started at second and batted second in the lineup. Went 2-for-4 on the day with an RBI. Right-handed hitter, was on the barrel three times with a low line drive hit to shortstop for an out. Consistently performs in games" |
