At 5-foot-9, 165 pounds, Martin is a tooled-up outfielder with athletic features on both sides of the ball. At the plate, Martin features a smooth swing that was consistently on the barrel. The right-hander’s quick hands paired with clear confidence in the box showed well in the heart of the CRB order. Across the weekend, Martin had a plethora of timely hits that either plated runs or kickstarted an inning. In the field, he was deployed in left and center with a roughly even split. The to-be sophomore showed the ability to cover an immense amount of ground as well as flashing above average arm strength.
5-foot-9, 163-pound frame, athletic build with room to add on strength. The right-handed hitter was on the barrel in this look, displaying loose and whippy hands that stay through the zone, upside swing that continues to show well in front of our staff.
INF Isaiah Martin (Lane Tech, 2027) continues to trend in the right direction in front of our staff. He’s an above-average athlete, cruising to a 6.97 in the 60, also putting up an impressive 3.01 in the RSI explosiveness test as well as a 29.8” max vertical jump. The right-handed hitter works on-plane with an efficient path, consistently keeping the ball on a line with a max EV of 91.2 mph.
A member of Team Illinois at the Junior Future Games, INF/OF Isaiah Martin (Lane Tech, 2027) continues to show above-average athleticism for age, running a 6.97 60 at this event, reaching a peak speed of 19.9 mph with a 29 inch vertical jump, too. Martin has twitchy hands at the plate with a long right-handed barrel through the zone that flashed gap-to-gap feel in BP.

Hit: RHH. Wide base, bat wraps at load, quick leg-lift trigger. Present bat speed and hand twitch. Long path out of load, works slightly uphill and flashed gap-to-gap feel. 64.3 mph bat speed with 12 G’s of rotational acceleration.
Power: 85 max exit velocity, averaged 73 mph. 298’ max distance.
Arm: RH. INF - 70 mph. OF - 80 mph. Short compact arm stroke, high 3/4 finish.

A member of Team Illinois at the PBR Junior Future Games this past summer, MIF Isaiah Martin (Lane Tech, 2027) has always been an athletic, twitchy prospect with upside. With nearly a year of development, his right-handed swing has increased fluidness and ease, staying on the barrel up the middle and through the ball throughout his round of BP. On the infield, Martin has some bounce to his step with active feet and athletic actions, showing present range and body control with some feel for the position.

Body: 5-9, 153-pounds. Well proportioned, athletic build with room to fill.
Hit: RHH. Wide setup, crouched, small leg lift into balance point. Fluid load into a flat path, easy bat-speed, stays on the barrel up the middle, stays through the ball.
Power: 85 max exit velocity, averaged 68.7 mph. 286’ max distance.
Arm: RH. INF - 74 mph. Short, clean, quick arm action.
Defense: Bouncy, active feet, quick first step, present range and body control on the move, highly-athletic double play turn.
Run: 7.07 runner in the 60.

Body: 5-6, 135-pounds.
Hit: RHH. Narrow stance, slightly crouched setup, minimal leg lift load. Short to the ball, flashed some bat-speed, level path, slightly uphill at times, pull-side approach with some pop off the bat.
Power: 79.9 max exit velocity, averaged 73 mph. 214’ max distance.
Arm: RH. OF - 69 mph. Short arm out of the glove into a 3/4 slot, life out of the hand.
Defense: Plays through the ball, sure-handed, athletic actions.

Martin has an athletic frame, wiry levers, projectable stature. Hit lead-off, started in center field. Athletic defender, with strong arm and fluid actions in the outfield, threw a key runner out at home plate late in the game. Right-handed hitter; upright stance with high hands and a simple load, short to the zone. Hitless on the day but showed a skill set worth following for the weekend at the 13U PBR at The Rock Summer Championships.
