Illinois State Games: Teams 1-10 Takeaways

On Aug. 5 and 6, the Prep Baseball Illinois staff hosted the fourth annual Illinois State Games at the Rantoul Family Sports Complex in Rantoul, an event featuring the top players in the state, spanning grad classes 2026 through 2028.

Shortly after the event, our staff published a full data dive at this event, where we analyzed several standouts from Tuesday's workout day, as well as the arms who took the mound in Rantoul. You can find both of those here: Position Players | Pitchers.
Now, at the event's conclusion, our staff has compiled our scout notes from our two-day trip, and we'll begin to roll out takeaway pieces over the next week, starting with Teams 1-10 followed by Teams 11-20.
TEAM 1 (RED)
+ INF Daniel Coyle (St. Laurence, 2026) continues to shine all around the diamond. Athletic 5-foot-8, 148-pound frame. Coyle collected a couple of barrels on Tuesday, including a two-run single to left field. The right-handed hitter operates from a wide base with a compact swing that is long through the zone. Showcased a whole field approach with pull-side power. Defensively, Coyle has the ability to move around not only in the infield but also the outfield. This uncommitted incoming senior makes difficult plays look easy while utilizing a strong arm, posted an 87 mph INF velo.
+ RHP Traxton Roberts (Armstrong, 2027) was dominant on Tuesday as he struck out all six batters that he faced. Roberts continues to put on big-time performances like he did down in Georgia when he was a member of Team Illinois during the Future Games a couple weeks ago. Athletic 6-foot-2, 175-pound frame. The right-hander operates from a simple, controlled delivery with a high leg lift. Full, quick arm action from a ¾ arm slot. His fastball sat 88-90 mph while topping out at 91.6 mph. He mixed in a sharp slider that sat 79-82 mph while also utilizing a changeup that sat 81-83 mph with heavy fade. Roberts rounded out his pitch-mix with a curveball that sat 68-72 mph with downer action. He showed confidence in all four pitches while utilizing the changeup and slider as potential out-pitches. An incredible arm that is still on the market and sure to get plenty of attention.

+ 3B Will Graba (Fremd, 2026) connected on a couple of barrels during the two-day event. Strong 5-foot-10, 194-pound frame. The left-handed hitter operates from a wide base with a compact swing that is long through the zone. The third-baseman posted a 90 mph infield velocity during Tuesday’s workout while also having a max EV of 96 mph. Graba was a major part of Fremd’s success this past Spring and will continue to shine as the uncommitted third baseman moves into his senior year.
+ RHP TJ Heatherly (Galesburg, 2026) had a strong outing on Tuesday as he showcased a true three-pitch mix. Strong 6-foot-2, 205-pound frame. The right-hander operates from a simple, controlled delivery with a high leg lift. Long, loose arm action from a high ¾ arm slot. His fastball sat 81-84 mph while topping out at 86 mph with sinking action. Heatherly mixed in a curveball that sat 68-72 mph with downer action. He also showed a changeup that sat 75-78 mph with fade. Heatherly was able to induce weak contact throughout his two innings of work.
+ INF/C Lucas Farabaugh (Ottawa, 2026) lived on the barrel during the gameplay portion of the State Games. He swatted a couple extra-base hits, including a no-doubt home run. A 5-foot-10, 165-pound right-handed hitter, his barrel stays in the zone a long time allowing for added plate coverage. Farabaugh reached an average batted ball distance of 270 feet (T359 feet) during the workout portion - which put him toward the top of the event leaderboard for that metric.
+ INF Ryan Keener (Minooka, 2026) is another uncommitted incoming-senior who was on the barrel routinely throughout gameplay. He began the event by displaying loud tools across the board; presenting an athletic and compact 5-foot-6, 150-pound frame, the right-handed hitter started by running a 6.75 60 - good for top 20 for the entire event, and he also topped out at 87 mph from across the diamond (tied for 5th best). He would also post a max EV of 95.7 mph and an average bat speed of 74.1 mph during batting practice.
+ LHP Dylan Ignacek (Barrington, 2026) is an uncommitted left-handed arm to know from the event. Athletic 5-foot-10, 181-pound frame. The left-hander possessed a hybrid delivery, utilizing a rocker step into a high leg lift, working in-line to the plate, with a full, clean ¾ arm action. Ignacek attacked hitters with his three-pitch mix, effectively missing barrels through his two innings of work. His fastball was 79-83 mph with cutting action and a max spin rate of 2,311 rpm. He also employed a big sweeping slider at 68-70 mph with a max spin rate of 2,492 rpm, and a diving changeup at 75-76 mph.
+ INF James Obaldo (Fenwick, 2027) is an incoming-junior whose game continues to stand out in-game. An established defender up the middle at 5-foot-9, 160-pounds, Obaldo also showed impressive barrel strength from the right side. He swatted a home run during gameplay and also reached a max batted ball distance of 328 feet in batting practice. Obaldo additionally showed savvy baserunning; taking bases at will and putting added stress on opposing pitchers/catchers.
+ OF Logan Rosenthal (St. Joseph-Ogden, 2026) is an uncommitted left-handed bat that took quality at-bats throughout the event. A physical 5-foot-9, 173-pound prospect, Rosenthal began his event by running a 6.74 60 - which was among one of the better times for the event. He also reached a max EV of 96.6 mph in batting practice. He would also show the ability to be on the barrel in-game, tallying a couple extra-base hits including ain impressive left-on-left triple.
+ OF Grant Dose (Ottawa Marquette, 2026) was an overall winner from the event. Standing at a strong 5-foot-7, 187-pounds, he had a very loud round of batting practice; 93.3 mph avg. EV (T98.7 mph), 279’ avg. distance (T362’). The barrel strength from the right side carried over into gameplay, where Dose took quality swings off some tough arms and also collected a double during the event.
+ RHP Wade Ozment (Crystal Lake Central, 2027) is one of the top uncommitted juniors in the state and continued to look the part at the State Games. Standing at a trim, high-waisted 6-foot-4, 190-pounds, he has loose and athletic movements down the mound paired with a tough arm slot for opposing hitters. His fastball sat 85-87 mph (T88) with heavy arm-side run and sinking action paired with above-average spin (avg. 2313 rpm). He would then show a sweeping curveball at 70-71 mph, and round out his mix with a 78-79 mph changeup that showed sink. A high-follow name to continue to watch in the state.
+ 1B/LHP Grant Statler (Hononegah, 2027) is an intriguing left/left prospect who showed upside on both sides of the ball at the event. At 5-foot-11, 167-pounds, he has a smooth and easy swing that flashed barrel strength with an easy pull-side home run on day two. Statler also hopped on the bump and topped out at 88.3 mph and showed a sharp breaking curveball at 70-72 mph that he could land for strikes.
+ INF Emilio Gandarilla (Downers Grove North, 2026) is a 5-foot-10, 155-pound right-handed hitter who was on the barrel throughout day two of the event. Gandarilla also had a quality showing during batting practice where he reached 95.5 mph for his max EV, and also posted a max batted ball distance of 313 feet.
+ RHP Henry Murphy (Maine South, 2028) features a long-levered, 6-foot-2, 160-pound frame with ample room to add strength. His 84 mph fastball plays with life and comes out of the hand with ease. Murphy shows feel for both a sharp, late-breaking curveball and a quick, tight slider, giving him multiple swing-and-miss options. He works with a loose, easy delivery and soft landing, projecting for continued velocity gains as he fills out.
+ RHPJose Rodriguez (Reavis, 2026) stands at a strong 6-foot-2, 193-pound frame. He worked a firm 89 mph fastball with late ride, pairing it with a splitter that he commanded well and that died late at the plate. Rodriguez also mixed in a quick-breaking 70–75 mph curveball to keep hitters off balance. Operating exclusively from the stretch, he generated consistent swings and misses with his effective three-pitch mix.
+ RHP Dylan Jantz (O’Fallon, 2026) is uncommitted and stands out with a strong 6-foot-5, 212-pound frame. He ran his fastball up to 89 mph, working mostly to the glove side, and paired it with a tight-breaking slider and a changeup thrown with fastball intent. Jantz works with an uptempo delivery and explosive actions, and his firm fastball makes him a definite name to follow.
+ RHP T. J. Heatherly (Galesburg, 2026) was able to induce weak contact throughout his two innings of work with his three-pitch mix. High-waisted 6-foot-2, 205-pound frame with some strength present throughout. The right-hander was able to get some swing-and-miss with his fastball that worked up to 86 mph, sitting in the mid-80s with a max HM of 17.6”. He also employed a tight 10/4 curveball at 68-72 mph with some feel for the zone, and a changeup that played with slight fade at 74-78 mph. An uncommitted right-handed arm to keep an eye on.
TEAM 2 (KELLY GREEN)
+ OF Patrick Connors (Hinsdale Central, 2026) has had one of the most impressive years in the state and continued to shine in Rantoul. Strong 6-foot, 185-pound athletic frame. Connors was a member of Team Heartland in this year’s Senior Future Games. The outfielder is known for his speed as he picked up 44 stolen bases this past Spring while also running a 6.41 60 in Georgia. The speed translates to the outfield where he is able to track down difficult fly balls in all parts of the field. Connors posted a max EV of 97.1 mph at the plate during Tuesday’s workout. The right-handed hitter operates from a compact base with a short swing that is quick through the zone.
+ RHP Owen Lense (Lincoln-Way East, 2026) came off a sharp high school season and has continued to impress in front of our staff. Strong 6-foot, 180-pound frame. The right-hander operates from a simple, controlled delivery with a high leg lift while utilizing the mound for plane. Has a short, quick arm action from a ¾ arm slot. His fastball sat 84-87 mph while topping out at 88.2 mph with ASR. He mixed in a curveball that sat 70-74 mph with a late bite. Also, showed a changeup that sat 75-76 mph.
+ 1B Adrian Perez (St. Laurence, 2026) was a key member of a St. Laurence squad that took home the 3A State championship and continues to perform throughout the summer. The right-handed hitter operates from a balanced base with a small leg lift. Perez has a simple swing that is long through the zone while having a gap-to-gap approach. Perez posted a max EV of 99 mph during Tuesday’s workout. An interesting uncommitted first baseman that should garner plenty of attention.
+ RHP Cole Clower (Providence Catholic, 2028) continues to show a projectable look on the mound with his three-pitch arsenal. Wiry, athletic 6-foot-1, 185-pound frame with some strength present. The right-hander operates out of an easy, controlled delivery, showing a short leg lift into a drop-and-drive lower half, with a clean ¾ arm slot. His fastball played firm out of the hand with slight cut at 80-83 mph and a max IVB of 18”. He also employed a slider that showed sweeping actions at 68-72 mph, and a cutting changeup at 74-76 mph with a HM max of 17”.
+ RHP Jonah Sloane (St. Laurence, 2028) was able to collect three strikeouts through two innings. The right-hander showed a moderate, controlled delivery, with a high leg lift with tuck and coil, getting extension down the mound. Sloane was effective with his four-pitch mix, showing a feel for the zone with each pitch. His fastball flashed some cut through the zone at 79-82 mph, topping 83 mph with a max spin rate of 2,295 rpm. He also utilized a tight 11/5 curveball at 72-75 mph with a max spin rate of 2,339 rpm, a sweeping slider at 71-75 mph with a max spin rate of 2,428 rpm, and a fading changeup at 72-73 mph.
+ RHP Kaden Norman (Cary-Grove, 2026) showed an intriguing look on the mound, throwing from a deceptive slot. Wiry, high-waisted 6-foot-3, 190-pound frame. The right-hander worked out of an athletic, up-tempo delivery, utilizing a high leg lift with tuck, landing in-line, from a full, low ¾ arm slot. His fastball sat 80-83 mph with a max spin rate of 2,463 rpm and a HM max of 16”. He also employed a high-spin slider at 69-72 with a spin rate in the ranges of 2,600-2,800+ rpm, and a changeup with arm-side fade at 74-77 mph with an HM max of 17.2”.
+ RHP Graydon Leonard (GCMS, 2027) showed a quality feel on the mound for his three-pitch mix. Long-levered 6-foot-1, 185-pound frame with room to fill in strength. The right-hander utilized a high leg kick into a drop-and-drive lower half, displaying repeatability from a clean ¾ arm slot. His fastball sat 81-85 mph with life out of the hand, showing a feel to locate at different parts of the zone. He also employed a tight two-plane slider at 72-75 mph with a spin rate in the ranges of 2,300-2,600+ rpm, and a fading changeup at 79-80 mph with a max IVB of 15.1”. A strong look at the uncommitted junior arm, who was a member of Team Select at this year’s Future Games.

TEAM 3 (ROYAL BLUE)
+ RHP Mason Bruesch (Geneva, 2027) continues to intrigue with each look our staff gets on him this summer. Fresh off the Future Games, the 6-foot-2, 175-pound right-hander was showing feel for all of his offerings once again. His fastball sat 80-85 mph (T86) with sink (avg. 9.3” IVB), while pairing that well with a slider at 70-76 mph. Bruesch would also turn over a changeup at 82-84 mph, finding the zone 100% of the time and tossed in a curveball once at 71 mph (2322 rpm) to round out the arsenal. Bruesch showed the ability to miss barrels throughout his outing; failing to surrender a hit, while punching out two.
+ LHP Collin Lawlor (Marist, 2028) features an athletic, projectable 6-foot, 174-pound frame. He worked an 83 mph fastball with late run, consistently locating it down in the zone. Lawlor complemented it with a well-placed curveball and a deceptive 78 mph changeup. His uptempo delivery and cross-fire landing add an extra layer of deception, making him a tough matchup for hitters.
+ LHP Rocco Szambelan (Joliet Catholic, 2026) stood out on the mound at the Illinois State Games with an impressive showing. The southpaw featured a running fastball that sat comfortably at 85-88 mph, touching 89 mph, and showed significant arm-side life with -16.7 inches of horizontal movement. He paired it effectively with a tight-breaking slider, which he consistently landed for strikes, demonstrating advanced feel for the pitch. Szambelan works with a loose, athletic delivery, featuring an easy leg lift and explosive finish through release.
+ RHP Christian Drye (Nazareth Academy, 2028) delivered an impressive performance on the mound. The 2028 graduate features a lanky 6-foot, 155-pound frame with significant room to add strength. He commands an 86 mph fastball, pairing it effectively with a sharp 76–78 mph slider and a fading 76 mph changeup. Drye stays balanced throughout his delivery, using an efficient lower half and quick arm action to induce consistent weak contact. With his projectable frame and clean mechanics, Drye offers a high ceiling for future development.
+ RHP Brandon Pelz (Bartlett, 2026) is an uncommitted arm entering his senior year who gave a quality showing in his outing. Presenting a durable 6-foot, 195-pound frame, he flashed feel for his entire arsenal. His fastball sat 86-90 mph with life through the zone. Pelz then showed a sweeping slider at 72-76 mph and a 76 mph curveball that showed depth, while completing his arsenal with a 78-81 mph changeup that showed fading action.
+ C Alexi Phillips (DePaul College Prep, 2026) showed well in all aspects of the event. Athletic 6-foot, 160-pound frame. The right-handed hitter operates from a wide base with a long stride. Phillips has a compact swing that is quick through the zone. The catcher posted a pop time of 1.90-2.03 while having a catcher velo of 79 mph.
+ RHP Sean Dabe (Huntley, 2027) had an impressive outing on Wednesday as he struck out three batters through his two innings of work. Athletic 5-foot-10, 157-pound frame with room to add strength. The right-hander operates from a quick, controlled delivery with a high leg lift. Quick, full arm action from a high ¾ slot. His fastball sat 84-86 mph with straight actions. Dabe mixed in a sharp slider that sat 73-76 mph. He also showed a changeup that sat 72-73 mph with sinking actions.
+ INF Reid Gerjerts (Wheeling, 2027) finished off a strong summer season with a couple of barrels during gameplay. Athletic 6-foot, 165-pound frame with room to add strength. The left-handed hitter operates from a balanced base with a compact swing. Showed a gap-to-gap approach. Gerjerts ran a 6.95 60 during Tuesday’s workout while posting a max EV of 95 mph. An interesting 2027 infielder to keep an eye on.
+ OF Danny Donovan (St. Laurence, 2026) couldn’t stay off the bases as he racked up hit-after-hit. Athletic 6-foot-1, 189-pound frame. The right-handed hitter operates from a balanced base with a small stride. Compact swing that is long and quick through the zone. Has a whole field approach at the plate. Donovan ran 6.90 60 while posting a 99 mph max EV during Tuesday’s workout. The incoming senior has versatility defensively and will continue to shine where he is.
+ INF Lou Ratcliffe (Lyons Township, 2026) posted one of the top BP rounds during Tuesday’s workout. The right-handed hitter collected six 96-plus mph exit velocities with his top coming in at 103.3 mph. Strong 5-foot-10, 178-pound frame. Ratcliffe operates from a wide base with a small leg lift. Has a pure swing that is quick through the zone with pull-side power. Ratcliffe also posted a 6.77 60 time. Ratcliffe is another 2026 name that has versatility defensively and will be an interesting name to keep an eye on.

+ INF Andres Aguirre (Lindblom, 2026) is a right-handed hitter who was on the barrel throughout the gameplay portion of the event. An athletic 5-foot-8, 155-pound right-handed hitter, he tallied three hits during the event, including a double. He has a compact swing through the zone paired with a line drive approach and was aggressive in hitter’s counts.
+ INF Charlie Surowiec (Grayslake Central, 2027) was another big winner from the event with how he performed throughout gameplay. The lean and athletic 5-foot-11, 169-pound right-handed hitter was on-base over 70% of the time in the three games and also tallied two triples. He has a flat swing through the zone paired with quick hands, while utilizing a line drive approach.
+ OF/1B Brandon Beasley (Oak Park-River Forest, 2027) is a strong 6-foot, 202-pound left-handed hitter that was an overall winner in both the workout and gameplay portions of the event. He ran a 7.04 60 and posted a max EV of 102 mph during batting practice. Beasley also finished the event 3-for-7 with a home run and four RBI. He has a flat swing with loose hands that generate natural loft on the ball with easy power to all fields.
+ 1B Bryce Tencza (Providence Catholic, 2026) swung a heavy barrel throughout the event. A strong and physical 6-foot-3, 293-pound right-handed hitter, he tallied a couple hits including a loud double that nearly left the yard. During batting practice, he posted an average EV of 92.5 mph (T98.3 mph), paired with a max batted ball distance of 352 feet. He has an uphill swing with intent to lift the ball paired with easy/strong hands, showing power to all fields.
+ LHP Trace Schaaf (Lockport, 2026) showed some feel for spin with his three-pitch mix. Long-levered, projectable 6-foot-4, 175-pound frame. The left-hander operated out of a controlled delivery, showing a high leg lift with tuck, working in-line, with a full, whippy ¾ arm slot. Schaaf collected three strikeouts through his two innings of work. His fastball played with arm-side run at 80-83 mph, topping 84.7 mph with a max IVB of 16.1”. He also employed a 1/7 curveball at 68-70 mph with a spin rate in the ranges of 2300-2600+ rpm, and a fading changeup at 73-74 mph that he killed spin on.
+ RHP Jack Postma (Barrington, 2028) provided a strong upside look on the mound through his two innings of work. Projectable 6-foot-3, 186-pound frame with present strength throughout. The right-hander worked out of a moderate delivery, using a high leg lift with tuck into a tall/fall finish, getting extension down the mound, from a whippy ¾ slot. Postma was efficient in his outing, not allowing a single base runner with two strikeouts. His fastball showed some life through the zone at 81-84 mph with an IVB max of 18.1” and an HM max of 18.6”. He also utilized a sweeping curveball at 69-72 mph, and a changeup with arm-side fade at 72-75 mph with an HM max 18.1”.
TEAM 4 (BURNT ORANGE)
+ MIF Justin Giese (Yorkville, 2026) is a scrappy left-handed hitter to know from the day. He is a tough out for opposing pitchers, covering the plate with ease while staying on-time with quality pitch recognition. The swing is fluid and athletic, staying through the zone with a line-drive approach. Defensively he will profile likely at second base at the next level with fluid actions and a confident glove.
+ C Shane Torres (Waubonsie Valley, 2027) continues to look like one of the premier left-handed bats in the state. There’s plenty of present strength in his 5-foot-10, 190-pound frame, and he’s able to generate violent bat-speed that stays through the zone with length. The hit tool carries the profile at the moment as he shows a mix of both bat-to-ball skills and power, middle of the order type bat at the next level. Finished the week 3-for-5 with two RBIs, two runs scored and a walk.
+ OF Howie Porath (Minooka, 2027) provided a strong look on day one with the bat. The left-handed hitter showed quality bat-to-ball skills with the ability to control the barrel, something our staff is used to seeing from the rising junior. He has a path that stays through the zone, and you can expect more power in the coming years as he adds strength to his 5-foot-10, 179-pound frame.
+ C Hudson Lovell (Morton, 2027) stood out this week as a physical right-handed hitter that was on the barrel. Listed at a muscle-bound 5-foot-10, 190-pounds with a developed build and rounded shoulders, there’s plenty of present strength in the swing, as he delivered EVs in the upper-90s on the workout day. Mature approach in our brief look, controlled the zone with quality swing decisions.
+ OF Landon Ehman (Providence Catholic, 2026) is an uncommitted left-handed bat that swung it well during gameplay. A lean and athletic 5-foot-10, 164-pounds, Ehman batted .500 in the three games while collecting a triple, two RBI, and drawing three walks. He showed quick hands and a loose/athletic swing that works slightly uphill. Ehman also posted quality numbers during the workout portion of the event; running a 6.86 60, posting a max EV of 96.5 mph in batting practice paired with a max batted ball distance of 368 feet.
+ RHP Joe Kelly (Loyola Academy, 2026) is a well-built 6-foot-1, 191-pound frame, Kelly was attacking hitters with his full arsenal Wednesday afternoon. The right-hander worked from an easy rocker motion, strong lower half, drop and drive motion with a whippy arm working from the ¾ slot. The fastball was sitting 87-88 mph, with 19.3 IVB, and the slider was 73-75 mph, with sweeper shape. As Kelly got deeper into the outing, the command followed as he began to overpower bats and locate in the zone.
+ OF Isaiah Martin (Lane Tech, 2027) swung it well throughout the event. On day two, Martin was on the barrel from the right side, collecting two doubles and an RBI. An athletic 5-foot-10, 170-pound prospect, Martin also showed aggression on the basepaths, collecting a stolen base in the three games. An uncommitted name to continue to follow.
+ RHP Jake Matise (Mount Carmel, 2026) continues to impress with each look our staff gets on him. Showing feel for four pitches, the lean 6-foot, 190-pound righty sat 82-86 mph (T87) with his fastball that played with ride through the zone to all corners of the plate. His curveball has depth at 68-70 mph, while the slider flashes sweep at 71-72 mph. Matise rounds out his arsenal with a 76-79 mph changeup that he throws with fastball intent and displays fading action. He would go on to punch out two batters in his two innings of work. An uncommitted name who has won big games throughout his high school career and continues to perform.
+ RHP Will Pennell (Sacred Heart-Griffin, 2026) was a big winner from the event, now committed to Lincoln Land CC. He showed feel for all three pitches in the outing, headlined by a high spin (avg. 2533 rpm, T2727) slider at 71-74 mph with sweeping action that induced plenty fo swing and miss. His fastball played at 80-83 mph (T84) with armside run, while completing his mix with a 77-79 mph changeup with sink. Pennell would go on to punch out five batters over the course of his two innings of work.
+RHP Mason Rychetsky (Kennedy, 2027) boasts a long, projectable 6-foot-3, 193-pound frame. He works an 88 mph fastball with ease out of the hand, locating it effectively throughout the zone. + MIF/RHP Kameron Cox (Montini Catholic, 2028) continues to look like one of the top infield prospects in the young 2028 group. The actions are advanced for his age with fluidity and clear feel for the position. His footwork is clean yet athletic with a quick first step and accurate angles to the baseball, pairing with soft and confident hands. His arm plays with a quick and athletic release that gets rid of the baseball quickly and with accuracy. At the plate, showcased a line-drive oriented right-handed path with whole-field intent and some present feel for the barrel. Took an impressive round of batting practice, producing a max exit velocity of 93.9 mph and an average of 89.8 mph while sporting a perfect sweet spot rate. On the mound, Cox showed a three-pitch mix running his fastball up to 84 mph with life through the zone (max 19.6 IVB). Mixed in a curveball with short, horizontal break at 65-69 mph. Fulton finished the week 3-for-6 with a walk and a run. Also, impressed in the showcase with a top EV of 101, averaging 91 mph and ran a 6.82 60-yard dash. Fulton has all the tools and is currently the fifth ranked 2028 in the state, No. 122 nationally.
+ OF Carson Hamblin (Lake Zurich, 2027) would showcase an athletic left-handed bat with strong hands, developing bat speed, and a present feel for the barrel. Defensively, showed a developing profile on the grass with fringy reads to pair with routes that consistently played up thanks to foot speed that produced a 6.67-second 60-yard dash during the workout portion of the event. Athletic 5-foot-9, 175-pound frame with developing strength.
+ OF Caleb Mease (Wheaton Warrenville South, 2028) measured in at 5-foot-11, 179-pounds with some present physicality that makes him a name to follow in the state's rising sophomore class. At the plate, presents a strong right-handed swing with loft-based intent, pull-side tendencies, and explosive hands. Took a quality round of batting practice, sporting a max exit velocity of 101.9 mph and an average of 95.8 mph to pair with a max bat speed of 76.3 mph and an average of 70.9 mph.
+ LHP/OF Josh Ouimette (Carmel Catholic, 2028) was a recent participant at the Midwest Super Sophomore games and would continue to show well in front of our staff. The left-handed hitter flashed a fluid swing throughout gameplay and was able to be on the barrel regardless of pitch and location. During the workout produced a max exit velocity of 95.7 mph and an average of 86.9 mph. Also, tossed two innings on the mound, allowing two hits, a run, no walks, and struck out one. The fastball would sit in the low-80s, topping out at 84 mph with some carry. Also showed an upper-60s curveball with 11/5 shape and an 68-70 mph changeup with diving action and an average spin rate of 1249 rpm. Ouimette continues to show why he is one of the top 2028s in the state. 5-foot-9, 192-pound frame with present strength and athleticism.
+ MIF Austin Rutter (Sacred Heart-Griffin, 2027) would showcase an athletic LHH/MIF profile throughout gameplay with foot speed that consistently played up throughout. At the plate, showcased a loose, fluid swing with athletic hands and developing feel for the barrel and pull-side tendencies. Finished gameplay 2-for-6 with a home run, an RBI, two runs scored, and two walks. Ran a 6.82-second 60-yard dash while producing consistently good run times down the line. Twitchy 5-foot-8, 157-pound frame.
+ OF Joey Sachetti (DePaul College Prep, 2026) would emerge as an athletic bat to follow within the state's senior class. Immediately stood out during the workout, running a 6.57-second 60-yard dash while also sporting a 93.4 mph max exit velocity and 86.5 mph average exit velocity. A line-drive oriented left-handed bat with pull-side tendencies and quick hands, Sacchetti would show a developing feel for the barrel throughout gameplay. Defensively showed athletic, rangy actions with evident baseball acumen that played up on the grass. Wiry 6-foot, 167-pound frame.
+ RHP Dean Miller (Glenbrook North, 2026) uncommitted, ranked No. 78 overall in the Illinois class of 2026. Miller, a long-limbed, 6-foot-1, 178-pound frame, gave an intriguing look on the mound Tuesday afternoon. The right-hander works from a long, fluid rocker motion with a medium-high leg kick, coiling into the back hip. The arm works from a deceptive sidearm slot, working loose and clean. Working with a three-pitch mix, the fastball was 82-84 mph, featuring sinking action. The slider was 75-77 mph, with sharp break. The changeup was 78-79 mph, dropping off from the fastball. Throughout his outing, the slider was generating lots of whiffs, showing the ability to land all three pitches for strikes, collecting three on the day.
+ LHP/1B Zach Toma (West Aurora, 2026) came away one of the event’s biggest two-way winners. Coming off a huge spring, the physical left-handed hitter picked up where he left off in game one with a loud swing, driving a ball over the left/center wall for a home run. He finished the week 3-for-6 with the home run, three RBIs and a run scored. Toma then hopped on the mound and missed bats, recording three strikeouts in his two innings of work. The 6-foot-1, 191-pound southpaw sat 81-84 mph (T86) with his fastball that had late run to it, pairing that with a tight 71-73mph curveball. His changeup sat 73 mph and flashed fading action.

+ INF Ty Hudik (Lincoln-Way East, 2026) is a left-handed hitter to know. There’s projection in his 6-foot, 175-pound frame with more power likely. He has a smooth and balanced swing with some uphill intent through the zone, resulting in a pull-side home run in the first game. He’s a smooth defender on the dirt with the actions to stay on the infield at the next level.
+ RHP Max Young (Mahomet-Seymour, 2026) struck out two over 1 ⅓ innings pitched. Lean, athletic 6-foot-1, 173-pound frame with room for additional strength. Fluid, athletic delivery with a high leg lift into a directional drop-and-drive move. Smooth arm-action out of a ¾ slot. Strong two-pitch mix while flashing a third offering. Fastball sat 84-86 mph (T87) with life (max 17.3 IVB). Showed a high spinning slider at 72-75 mph with sweep (max 2467 rpm). Flashed a changeup at 80 mph killing spin.
+ RHP Chris Kenzal (Saint Patrick, 2028) is a right-handed arm to follow from the 2028 class after the Illinois State Games. An athletic 6-foot-2, 175-pound frame. Easy, athletic delivery with a high leg lift into a directional drop and drive move. Clean, quick arm from a high ¾ slot. Kenzal ran the fastball up to 85 mph with ride (avg. 18.7 IVB) and sat 81-84 mph. Added a hard, gyro shape curveball at 75-77 mph. Completed his arsenal with a changeup at 74-77 mph with some depth. No hits allowed over 1 ⅔ innings pitched.
+ RHP Matthew Rogers (Plainfield South, 2026) a lean, long-limbed, 6-foot-2, 195-pound frame and gave a loud look during his outing Tuesday afternoon. Working from the stretch only, the right-hander works with a quick, short, drop-and-drive leg kick motion. Coming for the ¾ slot, the arm works short and clean, able to add late life to the ball. Rogers showed a strong two-pitch mix; the fastball was sitting upper 80s, T91 mph, with late life, and the slider was sitting 78 mph, with short, sharp break. Throughout his outing, Rogers was reality heavy on the fastball and beating hitters with it. Inducing groundballs and powering the fastball by hitters. An uncommitted arm to keep an eye out for the Illinois class of 2026.
+ RHP Owen Satterlee (Prairie Ridge, 2027) threw the ball well in his two innings of work at the event. A strong and durable frame at 6-foot, 195-pounds, he worked two scoreless, while punching out four. He sat 85-87 mph with the fastball, while showing immense feel for a 78-80 mph changeup that produced swing and miss. Satterlee would also show two different breaking balls; a 77-78 mph curveball that showed sharp 12/6 break, and a tight 76-78 mph slider.
TEAM 6 (BLACK)
+ OF/3B Matthew Donnelly (Prospect, 2027) was a winner both in the workout, and in gameplay. He put up impressive numbers on day one with a 102 mph peak EV, 94 mph average EV, 21.4 mph average hand-speed, 79 mph average bat-speed and 6.47 in the 60. The swing played in-game with a loud double on day one, showing easy strength with a balanced swing.
+ OF Drew Hyland (Nazareth, 2026) was one of the biggest two-way winners from gameplay. He was on the barrel on day one with a loud home run, finishing with an RBI, two runs scored and three walks. The athletic right-handed hitter showed a mature approach with quality feel of the strike zone, as well as the ability to identify pitches out of the hand. On the mound the right-hander works from a fluid and quick, high kick motion, with a quick, whippy, short arm action from a ¾ slot. Hyland, using a three-pitch mix, the fastball was sitting 83-86 mph, T88 mph, jumping out of the hand with arm-side run. The curveball was sitting 71-73 mph, 12-6 shape with 2400 RPMs. The changeup was 77-78 mph. Attacking with the fastball, Hyland was not afraid to attack, working effectively off the curveball.
+ INF Antonio Russotiesi (Downers Grove North, 2027) saw notable time on varsity this past spring and looks like a consistent left-handed hitter to keep tabs on. He competes in the box with feel to manipulate the barrel and square up the baseball, showing quality bat-to-ball and zone awareness to pair. Strong hands with a compact swing, present strength in the swing.
+ INF Miles Mazanowski (Lane Tech, 2027) is a physical right-handed hitter to follow in the state. Currently listed at 6-foot-3, 200-pounds with present equally distributed strength, he has plenty of loud tools to pair with the raw power. On top of his near triple-digit EVs, he also boasts above-average hand and bat-speed. Finished the week 2-for-6 with a loud double, two RBIs, two runs scored and a walk. He also has well above-average arm-strength, topping at 89 mph across the infield with steady actions to pair.
+ RHP Antonio Brown Jr (Homewood-Flossmoor, 2026) is an uncommitted, ranked No. 191 overall in the Illinois class of 2026. The 6-foot-1, 217-pound frame, Brown Jr gave an interesting look Tuesday afternoon. The right-handed is stretch only with a small leg kick and a quick finish. The arm works from the ¾ slot, with quick, short arm action. Showing a two-pitch mix, the fastball was sitting 87-89 mph, playing firm at the top of the zone, and the slider was sitting 76-79 mph short break. Striking out one over his two innings.
+ LHP Anthony Farina (Lockport, 2027) is a 5-foot-7, 145-pound frame and gave a strong showing on the mound Tuesday afternoon. The left-hander struck out four over two innings, allowing only one hit. Working from an easy high kick, drop, and drive motion with the arm working from a clean, easy, ¾ slot showing short arm action. Farina was able to keep hitters off-balance with a three-pitch mix, the fastball sitting 79-81 mph, with ride and slight cut, the slider was 67-69 mph, gyro shape; and the changeup was 71-72 mph, dropping off from the fastball with slight arm side run.
+ RHP Billy Main (Hinsdale Central, 2026) is an athletic and lean, 6-foot, 176-pound frame, showing why he is a high-celling arm to watch in the state of Illinois. Working with a two-pitch mix, the fastball was sitting 88-90 mph, T91 mph, playing easy, averaging 20.1 IVB. The slider was sitting 71-75 mph, with gyro shape, still developing. He relied mainly on the fastball throughout his outing. On the mound, looking like a shortstop, working from the stretch only in a staggered setup with a small leg lift. The arm was working from a lower ¾ slot, with easy and clean arm speed that jumps out. As the Main counties to develop as a pitcher, it will be a high-follow through the state of Illinois.
+ RHP Evan Gardner (Lyons Township, 2027) is a built, 6-foot-2, 200-pound frame. Garder showed a high intent presence on the mound Wednesday afternoon. Working with a strong four-pitch mix, the right-hander struck out two and allowed one hit through his two innings of work. The fastball was firm, sitting lower 80s, with slight ride for the slot. The sinker was also lower 80’s, pairing well with the fastball with 13.1 inches of horizontal movement and -1 IVB. The slider was mid-70s with a sweeper profile, and the changeup was upper-70s, with cutting action. The side arm thrower in game was able to mix and match all four pitches effectively and will feel to land them for strikes. Was able to miss barrels and induce doft contact out. A high upside side-arm profile for the 2027 class.
+ RHP Collin Grosenheider (Williamsville, 2027) is a wiry, 6-foot, 161-pound frame, giving a good, high-paced look on the mound. Working through two innings, the right-hander struck out one and allowed only two hits. Working from a high pace, rocker motion, working downhill, the arm works from a ¾ slot, working quick and loose. Grosenheider showed a three-pitch mix: the fastball was sitting mid-80s with cutting action, the slider was mid-70s with a late break gyro shape, and the changeup was upper-70s with a similar profile to the fastball. The right-hander was not afraid to attack and fill up the zone, leading to contact outs with a high pace on the mound.
TEAM 7 (CAMO)
+ C Braden Fournie (Belleville West, 2026; Lindenwood) is a 5-foot-10, 177-pound backstop with advanced defensive actions. Throughout gameplay, the defense was standout for the catcher out of Belleville East, Fournie flashed a 2.06 in game pop time, throwing two runners out at second in the first game of gameplay. At the plate, worked at-bats throughout and recorded a double in game two. Fournie stood out enough to commit to Lindenwood right after the event.

Took a quality round of batting practice showcasing a loose, line-drive oriented right-handed swing with easy power that would eventually show up in game after producing a max exit velocity of 99.1 mph average and 91.9 mph average. Also showed some present bat speed with a max of 75.5 mph and an average of 73.7 mph. Was on the barrel throughout gameplay, collecting multiple extra-base hits throughout. Defensively showed clean actions in the outfield with quality routes and a strong arm that was up to 89 mph during the showcase portion of the event. Ran a 6.79-second 60-yard dash with foot speed that played up on both sides of the ball. 6-foot, 171-pound frame with present strength and athleticism. A must know uncommitted name within the state's senior class.
+ RHP Cole Ruggeri (Waubonsie Valley, 2027) continues to show some of the best stuff on the mound in the 2027 class. Working only out of the stretch, Ruggeri features an athletic delivery with a high, coiled leg lift into a directional drop-and-drive move. Lower ¾ slot with a long arm-action. Attacked the zone with his running fastball at 87-90 mph (T91.6) with an average of 21.5 inches of horizontal movement. Added in a slider at 77-79 mph with short, tight horizontal break. Rounded out his three-pitch mix with a fading changeup with feel to throw in any count at 76-79 mph with an average of 2.9 inches of induced vertical break and 15.4 inches of horizontal break. Allowed no runs over two innings pitched striking out one and inducing multiple ground balls. Missouri commit.
+ 3B Zane Schneider (Lemont, 2027) is a 6-foot-2, 190-pound infielder that flashed some juice in gameplay as well as in the showcase. Schneider sent a ball over the left-center fence in gameplay on Tuesday, the first of back to back home runs with Ty Springer. In the showcase, Schneider reached 98 mph on EV, averaged 92 mph with a max distance of 367’ and ran a 6.98 60-yard time. An impressive all around showing for the 2027 out of Lemont.
+ OF Ty Springer (Sacred Heart-Griffin, 2026) was a standout for Sacred Heart-Griffin during the spring and would continue to show a quality all-around toolset throughout the event. At the plate showed a strong right-handed swing with loft-based, gap-to-gap intent and bat speed that during batting practice produced a max of 81.2 mph and an average of 79.3 mph. Had a quality round, sporting a 89% sweet spot rate while producing a max exit velocity of 95.5 mph and an average of 89.7 mph. Defensively showed quality instincts in the outfield with foot speed that produced a 6.79-second 60-yard dash during the workout. 5-foot-11, 180-pound frame with present strength and athleticism.
+ INF Trey Hrasky (O’Fallon, 2028) looks like a promising young infield prospect coming through the Metro East area. Listed at 6-foot, 160-pounds, he has a lean and projectable build with plenty of room to add strength. He has a good mix of measurable tools and gameplay performance, as he’s an above-average runner (6.83) with sneaky strength and feel for the barrel. The left-handed hitter showed above-average bat-to-ball skills with athletic hands, and his swing looks to profile into more power as he continues to fill out.
+ RHP Hayden Foster (Kaneland, 2026) is a wiry, long-limbed, 6-foot, 160-pound frame, Foster gave an interesting first look on Wednesday morning. Striking out four over two innings of work, Foster showed complete feel for a four-pitch mix, filling up the zone and attacking hitters. The fastball was 86-88 mph, with late ride. The curveball 68-73 mph, late break, 2600 RPMs. The slider was 73-75 mph, with sweeper shape -20.5 average horizontal movement. Then the changeup was 75-76 mph, with arm-side run. All four pitches worked well off each other, keeping hitters guessing at the plate, with distinct separation from each pitch. Foster works from a Reptable, drop and drive, high kick motion, with clean full-circle arm action from the ¾ slot.
+ LHP Ryan Flanagan (Lincoln-Way East, 2026) is an athletic, wiry, 6-foot-1, 167-pound frame with plenty of room to fill out. Flanagan had one of the most interesting outings from the left side. Racking up four strikeouts through two innings, Flanagan showed quality swing and miss pitches and an ability to work through trouble. The fastball was 86-88 mph, getting up to 18.8 IVB, and the slider was 75-78 mph, with sweep.
RHP Connor Fox (Mt. Zion, 2027) is an uncommitted name to follow through the Illinois class of 2027. Fox put together one of the most impressive outings we saw at this year's State Games. The wiry, 6-foot, 160-pound frame with plenty of room to fill out, the right-hander struck out three over two innings, only allowing one hit and walking none. Working with confidence and dominance on the mound, dealing with a four-pitch mix. The fastball was sitting 85-87 mph, with good ride for the slot, and the sinker played true, sitting mid-80s, with 15 inches of horizontal movement. The slider was 75-76 mph with a sweeper profile and 2200 RPMs, and the changeup was 75-76 mph, with arm-side run, dropping off from the fastball. Working with a reptable, high kick motion, with quick, short arm action from the lower ¾ slot. Fox created trouble for hitters with the slot, along with dominating the zone and attacking hitters early.
TEAM 8 (PURPLE)
+ OF Tommy Abbatemarco (Barrington, 2026) would showcase a quality uncommitted profile throughout the event. At the plate showed a strong right-handed swing with a controlled, aggressive approach in gameplay and bat speed. Took a quality round of batting practice that produced a max exit velocity of 100.2 mph and an average of 90 mph, while also sporting a 90% sweet spot rate. Defensively showed well in the outfield with athletic actions and routes, with developing instincts and reads. Strong 5-foot-11, 185-pound frame.

Pignatiello had a quality showing in the showcase as well, peaking his EV at 94 mph with an average of 89 mph and had a max distance of 341’.

+ C Tristan Steger (St. Laurence, 2027) represented team IL at the 2025 Future Games a few weeks ago, and continues to display intriguing tools all around the field. At the plate, Steger shows a mature presence, battling through at-bats and displaying true feel for the barrel. Steger broke out at the FGs as a LHH catcher and continued his success at the State Games. Displayed advanced actions behind the plate as well, flashed a 1.98-2.08 pop time and tossed 77 mph from the chute in the showcase portion of the event.
+ RHP Ethan Groenendal (Lockport, 2026) utilized a quality two-pitch mix to punch out three batters over his two innings at the Illinois State Games. The physical 6-foot-4, 210-pound right hander works from the stretch with a simple, directional drop-and-drive delivery. Short, compact arm-action with a high ¾ slot. Fastball sat 83-86 mph (T87) with ride generating swing-and-misses up in the zone. Off of that he added a splitter at 76-78 mph that killed spin and got whiffs down (avg. 1457 rpm).
+ RHP Alex Arens (Glenbard North, 2026) is a physical 6-foot-3, 220-pound right-handed pitcher to follow in the 2026 class. Up-tempo drop-and-drive delivery with slight cross-fire from a low ¾ slot. Arens utilized two different fastball shapes to miss batters' barrels. The 4-seam fastball sat 81-85 mph playing up in the zone from the lower slot. The sinker sat 80-83 mph with significant sink (avg. 5.7 IVB) and ASR (avg. 17 HM) inducing ground balls. Mixed in a slider with cut-shape generating swing-and-miss at 72-73 mph.

Up-tempo delivery with a big rocker step into a high, coiled leg lift, transitioning into a drop-and-drive move down the mound with slight crossfire. Clean arm-action from a low ¾ slot. Pounded the zone with the fastball (77 zone %) running it up to 91 mph sitting 88-90 mph. Paired it with a slider at 78-80 mph with sweep and some depth (max -14.8 HM). A high-follow in the 2028 class.
+ 1B Dylan McCabe (St. Charles East, 2027) is a name that has consistently stood out to our staff thanks to advanced athleticism and instincts at the cold corner that consistently play up in gameplay, with this event being no exception. Showed well in workout with deliberate movements around the bag and an arm that was up 81 mph from across the diamond with some accuracy. At the plate showed an easy and fluid left-handed swing with line-drive intent, a patient approach, and a developing feel for the barrel. Produced a max exit velocity of 95.8 mph an average of 86.7 mph during batting practice. Wiry 6-foot, 157-pound frame with room for added strength.
+ LHP Tommy Hosty (Marist, 2027) was efficient through his two innings of work, pounding the zone with his three-pitch arsenal. Well-proportioned 6-foot, 186-pound frame. The left-hander operated primarily out of the stretch, employing a high leg lift into balance point, working from a clean and loose ¾ slot. Hosty tossed two scoreless innings with one hit and two strikeouts. He showed some feel to land with his fastball at 80-83 mph, topping 83.8 mph with a max IVB of 16.1”. A controlled, aggressive at the plate, Medina showed pull-side tendencies and some present feel to create loft in his swing. Finished gameplay 2-for-6 with a double, an RBI, a run scored, and a walk. + RHP Aiden Gallucci (Rolling Meadows, 2027) is an athletic 6-foot-1, 190-pound right-handed arm to know. Simple, repeatable tall-and-fall delivery landing directional. Short arm-action from a ¾ slot. Utilized two different fastball shapes. 4-seam sat 84-85 mph with some cut at times. Sinker sat 81-84 mph with heavy sink and some ASR (max -6.6 IVB). Added a sweeping slider to put batters away with (avg. -10.1 HM). Struck out three over 1 ⅓ innings pitched while not allowing a run.
+ 3B Ajay Runkel (Rochester, 2026) had one of the most impressive BP rounds during Tuesday’s workout as he connected on two balls that went 375 feet while having a max EV of 97.1 mph. Physical 6-foot-1, 248-pound frame. The right-handed hitter operates from a closed base with a small stride. Pure swing that has natural leverage with easy-power to all fields. Runkel continued to impress during gameplay as he launched a breaking ball to right-center for a sac fly.
+ INF/RHP Eli Michanicou (Dunlap, 2027) put together quality swings from the right side against tough arms throughout the event. A lean and athletic 5-foot-10, 182-pound prospect, he has some twitch in the swing paired with quick hands and a compact bat path. He finished the event 3-for-6 with a triple and an RBI, while playing reliable defense on the infield as well. On the mound, Michanicou kept hitters off-balance with his three-pitch arsenal. The right-hander moved athletically down the mound, showing a rocker step into leg lift, with a drop-and-drive lower half, and a short ¾ arm action. Michanicou tossed two scoreless innings without allowing a hit, while also collecting three strikeouts. His fastball played with arm-side run at 81-84 mph, topping 85 mph with a max IVB of 18.8” and a max HM of 15.7” He also employed a two-plane action slider at 70-75 mph, and a fading changeup at 74-77 mph. An impressive overall performance from the two-way junior, who looks to be a key contributor to a strong Dunlap lineup.
+ RHP Asher Pruemer (St. Joseph-Ogden, 2026) came away as one of the bigger winners on the mound from the event. An athletic mover at 5-foot-11, he pounded the zone throughout his two innings of work, striking out three and walking zero. His fastball sat 84-87 mph (T88) with life through the zone, while showing feel to spin (avg. 2478 rpm, T2724) his curveball at 72-74 mph. Pruemer rounds out his arsenal with a 79-80 mph changeup, playing with fading actions. A name to continue to follow.
TEAM 10 (YELLOW)
+ OF Arjun Patel (Conant, 2026; Harper JC) consistently found ways on base throughout the two-day event. Athletic 5-foot-9, 171-pound frame. Patel, recent Harper JC commit, went 6-for-10 at the plate while swiping seven stolen bases. The left-handed hitter displayed advanced bat-to-ball abilities with a whole field approach. Defensively, Patel showed off his range in the outfield as he played in all three spots.
+ MIF Mikey Watson (Homewood-Flossmoor, 2027) was one of the biggest winners of the two-day event. Strong 5-foot-10, 186-pound athletic frame. The right-handed hitter operates from a balanced base with a small stride. Compact swing that is long through the zone. Watson posted a 6.55 60 time during Tuesday’s workout as well as an 85 mph infield velocity. Watson also had a max EV of 96.8 mph. An interesting 2027 MIF to keep an eye on.
+ RHP Collin Burns (Morton, 2026) shined on Wednesday as he struck out two batters through two hitless innings. Athletic 6-foot-2, 191-pound frame. The right-hander operates from a simple, controlled delivery with a high leg lift. Full, quick arm action from a ¾ arm slot. His fastball sat 84-86 mph while topping out at 86.4 mph. Burns mixed in a sharp slider that sat 69-72 mph while also showing a changeup that sat 79-80 mph with sinking actions. Should play a key role in Morton’s season this Spring.

The right-hander operates from a simple, controlled delivery with a high leg lift with tuck. Long, loose arm action from a ¾ arm slot. His fastball sat 83-86 mph while topping out at 87.6 mph. Ames went to a curveball that sat 69-73 mph with plenty of depth and movement (-17.3” HM max). He also showed a changeup that sat 74-77 mph with a late arm-side bite.

The incoming sophomore connected on six balls at 94 mph or higher during Tuesday’s workout with his max coming in at 98.9 mph. The infielder also posted an infield velocity of 84 mph.
+ RHP Josiah Patterson (Kenwood Academy, 2027) gave our staff an upside look with his four-pitch arsenal. Athletic 5-foot-10, 184-pound frame. The right-hander worked from a full arm circle, utilizing a loose ¾ slot. His fastball played heavy with some late sink at 85-87 mph, topping 87.9 mph with a max IVB of 20.2 and an average IVB of 16.5”. He also employed a sharp 11/5 curveball at 74-77 mph and a slider at 72-74 mph that both had spin rates in the 2300-2400+ range, and flashed a changeup with downer fade at 77 mph.
+ RHP Emerson Larson (Carmel Catholic, 2026) attacked hitters with a powerful fastball-sider combo. Imposing 6-foot-6, 257-pound frame with projectability. The right-hander possessed a hybrid delivery, utilizing a rocker step into leg kick, with a drop-and-drive lower half that works in-line. He also showed a full arm action from a loose, low ¾ slot. His fastball showed life out of the hand and sinking action at 87-89 mph, touching 89.6 twice with a max IVB of 19.1” and a max HM of 18.7”. He also showcased a tight two-plane slider at 73-76 mph with a max spin rate of 2,328 rpm, and a heavy fading changeup at 75-77 mph with an average HM of 14”. Another strong look at one of the top uncommitted arms in the state.
