KNOXVILLE, TN — The Knoxville Summer ID & Rising Stars ID was held at Grace Christian Academy in Knoxville, TN that featured top talent from the 2027-2031 classes. Players went through a pro-style workout with TrackMan, Blast Motion, and VALD Performance tech, while pitchers threw in a bullpen setting and were able to get data and metrics on our TrackMan unit.

Some prospects built on past showings, while others made strong first impressions.

Miller Brock LHP / 1B / Baylor, TN / 2027

Miller Brock (Baylor, 2027) showed why he's one of the more intriguing uncommitted left-handed arms in Tennessee, standing out with a physical 6-foot-4, 224-pound frame and an advanced three-pitch mix. The southpaw worked comfortably at 88-89 mph, topping at 89, creating tough angles with a low-slot look and heavy arm-side movement. He paired the fastball with a 74-77 mph slider that showed over 2,000 RPM of spin and flashed swing-and-miss potential, while also mixing a 75-77 mph changeup with quality fading action to give hitters a different look. Miller's size, left-handedness, and feel for three pitches continue to make him an arm to follow in Tennessee's 2027 class. 

Morgan Ferrell C / 3B / West, TN / 2027

Morgan Ferrell (West, 2027) put together one of the louder offensive performances of the event, producing premium power metrics across the board. The physical 6-foot-1, 235-pound right-handed hitter posted a 101 mph max exit velocity with a 93.7 mph average EV while driving the ball up to 370 feet, consistently impacting the baseball with authority. Ferrell also showcased strength behind the plate, recording an 80 mph catcher velocity and 1.81-1.94 second pop times, highlighting his defensive arm. The combination of middle-of-the-order power and solid catching tools makes Ferrell an intriguing follow in Tennessee's 2027 class. 

Mason McWhirter RHP / OF / Clarkrange High School, TN / 2028

Mason McWhirter (Clarkrange HS, 2028) continued to show intriguing two-way upside with a well-rounded performance on both sides of the ball. The right-hander ran his fastball up to 87 mph, working 85-87 mph with solid carry through the zone, while mixing a 69-71 mph breaking ball and 73-74 mph changeup to round out a three-pitch arsenal. Offensively, McWhirter produced a 94 mph max exit velocity with a 333-foot max distance, showing present strength from the right side. He also turned in an 85 mph arm from the outfield and 82 mph across the infield, further highlighting his athleticism and versatility as one of the more intriguing 2028 prospects at the event. 

Seaton Moffett SS / Christian Academy of Knoxville, TN / 2028

Seaton Moffett (Christian Academy of Knoxville, 2028) turned in an impressive all-around workout, showcasing athleticism and advanced offensive traits for his class. The right-handed hitter posted a 91 mph max exit velocity with an 84.4 mph average EV, driving balls up to 323 feet while consistently finding the barrel. Moffett also flashed defensive ability with an 85 mph arm, and his 6.62-second 60-yard dash was one of the better times among the underclass group, highlighting the athleticism that complements his offensive upside. The combination of speed, emerging power, and defensive tools makes him a 2028 prospect to keep an eye on.

Micah Purdom OF / LHP / Christ Presbyterian Academy, TN / 2027

Micah Purdom (Christ Presbyterian Academy, 2027) delivered one of the more complete positional workouts of the event, pairing athleticism with impact from the left side. The left-handed hitter produced a 97 mph max exit velocity and drove the ball 367 feet, showing present gap-to-gap power with plenty of projection still remaining. Purdom also impressed defensively with an 89 mph outfield arm, while his 6.66-second 60-yard dash reinforced his above-average athleticism. The combination of speed, and left-handed offensive upside make him an interesting uncommitted prospect ‘27 class. 

Luke Turner SS / RHP / Arlington, TN / 2027

Luke Turner (Arlington, 2027) put together a strong all-around showing, highlighting a balanced blend of athleticism and offensive impact. The right-handed hitter recorded a 97 mph max exit velocity while driving the baseball 361 feet, demonstrating present strength and the ability to produce carry off the barrel. Turner also showcased defensive arm strength with an 88 mph outfield velocity and backed it up with a 6.68-second 60-yard dash, reinforcing his athletic profile. With quality offensive metrics and solid defensive tools, Turner continues to trend as an intriguing 2027 prospect. 

Jaxsen Felker C / SS / Jefferson County High School, TN / 2029

Jaxsen Felker (Jefferson County, 2029) turned in a well-rounded performance that showcased his athleticism and versatility. The left-handed hitter produced a 92 mph max exit velocity with a 311-foot max distance, showing present strength and feel for the barrel. Defensively, Felker showed the ability to play multiple spots, recording an 80 mph outfield arm and 78 mph from behind the plate with 1.90-2.16 second pop times. His combination of athleticism, offensive upside, and defensive versatility makes him an intriguing young prospect in Tennessee's 2029 class. 

Keller Ownby RHP / 3B / Seymour Junior High, TN / 2030

Keller Ownby (Seymour, 2030) put together an impressive two-way showing, especially for one of the younger prospects in attendance. The right-hander ran his fastball up to 82 mph, working 78-82 mph with feel for the zone while complementing it with a 68-69 mph breaking ball and a 73-77 mph changeup that showed developing feel. Defensively, he also flashed an 84 mph arm from the outfield, highlighting his athleticism. Ownby continues to show promising upside as a young two-way prospect with plenty of room for development.

Colton Clear 3B / 1B / Grace Christian Academy, TN / 2031

Colton Clear (Grace Christian Academy, 2031) put together an impressive showing for one of the youngest players at the event, flashing advanced offensive metrics and athleticism. The right-handed hitter recorded a 93 mph max exit velocity with an 81.7 mph average EV, driving the baseball 323 feet while showing present bat speed and strength for his age. He also displayed solid defensive actions, making for a well-rounded workout that points to significant long-term upside as he continues to develop. 

Mason Haun C / 2B / Knoxville Catholic High School, TN / 2029

Mason Haun (Knoxville Catholic, 2029) showed well defensively throughout the workout, displaying steady actions behind the plate. The right-handed catcher recorded a 73 mph arm with 1.87-1.95 second pop times, demonstrating quick transfers and the ability to get the ball out efficiently. His defensive metrics, combined with fundamentally sound receiving actions, make him a young backstop worth following in Tennessee's 2029 class. 

Roman Dunn 3B / RHP / Halls, TN / 2029

Roman Dunn (Halls, 2029) was one of the more intriguing young arms at the event, showcasing a projectable 6-foot-3, 194-pound frame and advanced velocity for his class. The left-hander worked 80-87 mph, topping at 87, with a fastball that showed quality life through the zone. He complemented it with a 69-72 mph breaking ball that flashed over 2,200 RPM of spin and mixed in a 73-74 mph changeup to round out a developing three-pitch mix. With his size, left-handed profile, and present stuff, Dunn continues to establish himself as a high-upside arm in Tennessee's 2029 class.
