As the 2026 California high school season came to a close, plenty of standout performances filled scorecards across the state. Throughout the spring, there was no shortage of memorable individual outings in games captured firsthand by our Prep Baseball California staff during the season.

Over the last several days, much has been listed of the top 10 single-game standout performances I've seen across the greater San Diego area during the 2026 spring season, highlighting some of the top individual efforts from around the region. The countdown series is now marching toward the number one spot.

Cracking into the Top 3 is Elyjah Mason after a massive offensive showing in the opening round of the CIF Southern Section Division 1 playoffs. Facing a 24-4 Temecula Valley High School club on the road, the Oklahoma State Baseball commit completely took over the game offensively and helped power Huntington Beach High School to a convincing playoff victory.

Mason finished the day 3-for-5 with seven RBIs, consistently delivering big swings throughout the contest. The uber-athletic junior first drove in two runs on a hard-hit ball that ate up the second baseman before later ripping a two-run single to right field that helped break the game open. For good measure, Mason capped off the performance with a towering no-doubt three-run home run launched into the trees beyond right field to the pull side, putting a stamp on the Oilers’ playoff win in Temecula.

Ranked now the No. 2 player in California’s 2027 class and No. 12 nationally, Mason continues to show why he is viewed as one of the most athletic prospects in the country. Whether lined up in center field, shortstop, or third base, the dynamic utility talent impacts the game in multiple ways. Mason closed out his junior campaign, hitting .385 with 40 hits, 33 RBIs, ten doubles, and three home runs.

Stay tuned as the countdown continues toward the top two single-game performances seen across the San Diego region this spring.
