Future Games: The Nation’s Biggest Recruiting Week

Welcome to the biggest uncommitted baseball event in the country.  This week, the scouting world descends on LakePoint Sports in Emerson, GA, for the highly anticipated Future Games week. While the week kicked off with the upperclassmen in the Senior Future Games (2027 grads) and features the rising stars of the Junior Future Games (2030 and 2031 grads), July 22nd through the 25th belong to the main event: the Future Games.

Bringing together the premier uncommitted Class of 2028 prospects from across the nation, the Future Games offer an unmatched platform.  These elite athletes will be put through a comprehensive pro-style workout before battling it out in a three-game slate.  Among the loaded rosters taking the field is Team SC, a powerhouse squad featuring the top uncommitted talent from across South Carolina.

If there was any question about the magnitude of this week, just look at the crowd behind the backstop.  Last year’s event drew a staggering 450+ college coaches, and Day 1 of this year's showcase has already matched—if not exceeded—that massive turnout.  The spotlight has never been brighter, and for the Class of 2028, it's time to perform.

Banks Alexander C / OF / River Bluff, SC / 2028 Rankings  StateRank: 5 / POS: 1 Alexander turned in one of the most dominant offensive performances of the event, putting together a huge week at the plate.  The right-handed hitter went 5-for-7 over the three-game event, including two triples and a double, consistently driving the baseball with authority to all fields.  He backed up the in-game production with a 103.2 mph exit velocity and 389-foot max distance, reinforcing the impact and power in his bat.  Behind the plate, Alexander was equally impressive, displaying advanced athleticism while blocking, receiving, and handling the pitching staff, along with pop times as low as 1.87.  His combination of offensive production, power, and defensive ability made him one of the top overall performers at the event.

Parker Holladay C / 2B / Summerville High, SC / 2028 Rankings  StateRank: 14 / POS: 2 Holladay put together a strong all-around showing, flashing athleticism and defensive polish behind the plate.  The 2028 backstop consistently received at a high level, blocked well, and showed off his arm strength with pop times as low as 1.86 seconds, proving to be a reliable presence defensively.  Offensively, he became more comfortable as the weekend progressed, barreling multiple balls against high-level pitching in Game 3, including a ringing double down the right-field line and another hard-hit line drive that was tracked down in left field.  Holladay's defensive skill set, improving offensive confidence, and ability to square up quality arms make him an intriguing young catcher to follow.

Cannon McDonald C / 3B / Pro5 Academy, SC / 2028 Rankings  StateRank: 28 / POS: 3 McDonald showcased a strong combination of physicality and offensive maturity throughout the event.  The 6-foot-2, 190-pound backstop put together several quality at-bats over the three-game weekend, drawing three walks while adding a single and multiple well-struck barrels against quality competition.  He also posted a 91.9 mph exit velocity with a 348-foot max distance, reinforcing the strength and leverage in his right-handed swing.  With a strong, athletic, projectable frame and an advanced approach at the plate, McDonald possesses plenty of upside as he continues to develop.
