NORTHPORT, AL - The PBT Alabama Open took center stage at River Run Park in Northport, Alabama, from June 25-28, bringing together several teams from across the region for a competitive weekend of summer baseball. Featuring 14U-17U/18U divisions, the event provided players with an opportunity to compete against quality opponents while continuing to build momentum heading into the heart of the summer schedule.

Over four days of action, teams battled through pool play and bracket competition, showcasing a talented collection of prospects from across Alabama and neighboring states. With Prep Baseball staff on hand throughout the event, the tournament served as an important evaluation opportunity while also highlighting many of the players who are poised for strong summers on the travel circuit. As always, River Run Park provided a tremendous setting for high-level competition, with numerous standout performances emerging throughout the weekend.

+ RHP Aden Bell (2029, MS) Aden Bell established himself as one of the premier arms in attendance with a dominant outing that showcased both present stuff and long-term upside. The right-hander works with a calm, controlled operation before exploding down the mound, utilizing a quick arm and strong front side to generate impressive velocity. Bell's fastball touched 89 mph and held firm at 87-88 mph into the seventh inning, a testament to both his arm strength and endurance. He kept hitters from ever settling in by pairing the heater with a slider that featured sharp horizontal sweep and consistently generated swing-and-miss. The changeup became an effective weapon the third time through the lineup, adding another dimension to his arsenal and producing even more empty swings. Bell finished the day with an impressive 15 strikeouts while allowing no runs, cementing himself as a high-follow arm in Mississippi's 2029 class.


+ UTL Landen Davis (2030, SC) Landen Davis was one of the biggest offensive standouts of the weekend, continuing to build his reputation as one of the top young hitters in the country. The 2030 prospect launched three home runs that left little doubt off the bat while narrowly missing on several additional swings that carried deep to the warning track. Davis showed advanced barrel control and consistently punished pitches on the inner half, using his strong, physical frame to generate impressive bat speed and power. While he attacks aggressively in the box, he also demonstrated mature strike-zone awareness, refusing to chase pitches outside the zone and working counts when necessary. His combination of swing plane, feel for the barrel, and present power is well beyond his years, making him one of the premier national follow prospects in the 2030 class.


+ OF/LHP Sam Ridley (2029, AL) turned in a strong all-around performance as one of the top two-way players at the event. At the plate, the 2029 prospect showed a mature approach, consistently producing loud contact, highlighted by a home run to straightaway center field. His tall, athletic frame and ability to drive the ball to all fields stood out throughout the weekend. On the mound, the left-hander worked with a three-pitch mix, sitting 83-85 mph and topping at 86 with the fastball while showing feel for both a 70-73 mph slider and a 68-70 mph changeup. Ridley displayed the ability to throw all three pitches for strikes and projects as an intriguing two-way follow in the 2029 class.


+ LHP/OF Charlie Paige was one of the more impressive young two-way prospects at the event, making his biggest impact on the mound. The young southpaw attacked hitters with confidence and put together a dominant outing, showcasing the makings of a high-upside arm in the 2030 class. Offensively, Paige also contributed from the leadoff spot, displaying a quality approach and the ability to consistently put the ball in play. His combination of athleticism and two-way potential makes him a player to follow closely.


+ INF Jackson Brooks put together a solid all-around weekend, swinging the bat with confidence while showing the ability to consistently find the barrel. Defensively, Brooks was equally impressive, displaying smooth actions, reliable hands, and a quality arm across the infield. His well-rounded skill set allowed him to impact the game on both sides of the ball.


+ INF Sloan Browning (2030, AL) stood out with a series of quality at-bats throughout the weekend, showing an advanced feel for the barrel and a mature offensive approach for his age. Defensively, Browning was a plus presence, moving well in the field with clean actions and dependable glove work. A young prospect with an exciting blend of offensive and defensive upside.


+ INF Sawyer Croyle (2030, AL) possesses an impressive, projectable frame with plenty of room to continue adding strength as he matures. The 2030 infielder showed clean defensive actions throughout the weekend, moving comfortably at shortstop with athletic footwork and body control. His combination of size, athleticism, and defensive ability makes him an intriguing long-term follow.


+ INF Beau Lutkins showcased an advanced feel to hit throughout the weekend, consistently producing hard contact and barreling baseballs in multiple games. He put together quality at-bats from start to finish, displaying confidence in the box and the ability to square up pitches throughout the strike zone. Lutkins' offensive consistency made him one of the more impressive bats in attendance.


+ INF/RHP Grayson Miller (2029, AL) enjoyed an outstanding weekend as both a hitter and pitcher. Offensively, he consistently produced loud contact, squaring balls up with authority throughout the event. On the mound, the right-hander continued to impress, running his fastball up to 86 mph while showing the arm strength and athleticism that make him one of the more intriguing young two-way prospects in the class.


+ INF Maddox Medlock (2029, TN) showed plenty of present strength throughout the weekend, producing easy carry off the barrel and consistently driving the baseball with authority. The 2029 prospect generates impressive pop without having to overswing, allowing his natural strength and efficient swing to do the work. His offensive upside continues to stand out as he develops.
