Welcome to the IHSA Daily Roundup, where our Prep Baseball Illinois staff will provide readers with scores, game recaps, and highlights from the games that took place the day before. In conjunction with our comprehensive in-game coverage throughout the 2026 season, we’ll publish this Daily Roundup to keep readers informed on the latest happenings across the state.
We obtain most of our scores by following teams on GameChanger, as well as through MaxPreps and Twitter. Coaches are also able to submit their own team’s box scores to us via email at [email protected], or through our IHSA Submitted Scores form, which they’re able to request by emailing our staff or by sending a us a DM over Twitter. No. 1 St. Laurence defeated Oak Lawn by a score of 5-1 to win the regional championship and run their overall record for the season to 35-2. LHP Jimmy Benson (2027; TCU) started on the mound and went the distance throwing a perfect game enroute to earning the win. At the plate the Vikings were lead by C Tristan Steger (2027; Kentucky) who went 2-for-3 on the day with 2 RBI and a BB, 2B Mickey Lotus (2026: Lewis) 1-for-2 with 1 RBI, 2 runs scored, 4 SB and DH Daniel Coyle (2026: Lewis) 1-for-1 with 1 RBI and 2 BB. St. Laurence adanced to the Brother Rice Sectional Semi-Final against No. 6 Mt. Carmel which will be played on Wednesday 6/3 at 2pm.

No. 2 Normal Community defeated Moline by a score of 10-0 to win the regional championship and run their overall record to 34-2 on the season. RHP Josh Jones (2026; Indiana State) went 5.1 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 6 K to earn the win for the Ironmen. At the plate Normal Community was paced by C Max Heineman (2026; UIC) 2-for-4 with a 2B, 2 RBI, 1 SB and 2B Lucas Beaty (2027) 1-for-3 with 2 RBI and 2 SB. The Ironmen advanced to the Normal Sectional Semi-Final against Minooka which will be played on Wednesday 6/3 at 6pm.

Lincoln Way Central upset No. 3 Lincoln Way East by a score of 6-5 to capture the regional championship and improve their overall record to 17-18 on the season. On the mound the Knights were led by RHP Owen Novak (2026; Illinois Wesleyan) who went 6 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 5 BB, 9 K to earn the win. CF Luke Tingley (2026) 4-for-4, 1 R, 2 RBI, 1B Connor McCabe (2026; Illinois Wesleyan) 2-for-3, 1 R, 2 RBI, HR and 2B John Gutierrez (2029) 2-for-3, 2 RBI led the way for the Knights offensively. For Lincoln Way East CF Matthew Safarik went 2-for-3, 1 R and SS Keegan Crabtree (2028) 1-for-3, 2B, 2 RBI, 2 R to lead the attack. Lincoln Way Central advanced to the Lincoln Way Central Sectional Semi-Final against Marist which will be played on Wednesday 6/3 at 4:30pm.

No. 4 Brother Rice defeated Whitney Young by a score of 9-1 to capture the regional championship and improve their overall record to 27-10 on the season. LHP Braydon McKendrick (2026; John A. Logan) took the ball for the Crusaders and went 5 IP, 6 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 5 K to earn the win. Offensively 3B Brady Cunningham (2027; Texas A&M) 4-for-4, 4 RBI, 2 R, 3B, HR and CF Nolan Ramoley 2-for-3, 1 R, 4 SB, 2B paced Brother Rice's attack. For the Dolphins RF Issac Stoelinga went 2-for-4 on the day. Brother Rice advanced to the Brother Rice Sectional Semi-Final against Reavis on Wednesday 6/3 at 4:30pm.

No. 5 Triad defeated Jeresey by a score of 9-0 to win the regional championship and improve their overall record to 32-5 on the season. Nolan Keller (2026; Kaskaskia JC) went 6 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 13 K to earn the win for the Knights. Offensively Triad was led by 1B Keegan Seipp (2027; Xavier) 3-for-4, 3 RBI, 2 R, 2B, HR and C Kade Rocca (2027) 2-for-3 with 2RBI. The Knights advanced to the Triad Sectional Semi-Final against Waterloo which will be played on Wednesday 6/3 at 2pm.

No. 6 Mount Carmel defeated No. 20 Oak Park River Forest by a score of 6-0 to win the regional championship and improve their overall record to 27-10 on the season. Offensively the Caravan were led by CF Logan Fernandez (2026; Triton JC) 2-for-4, 2 RBI, 2B and 2B Brady Holland (2026) 2-for-3, 1 RBI, 1 R, 3B. On the mound RHP Connor Elenteny (2026; Notre Dame) threw a complete game, 7 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 5 K to earn the win. Offensively for the Huskies CF Zach Goldberg went 2-for-3 with a 2B and a 3B. The Caravan advanced to the Brother Rice Sectional Semi-Final against No. 1 St. Laurence whcih will be played on Wednesday 6/3 at 2pm.

No. 7 Huntley defeated Dekalb by a score of 4-1 to win the regional championship and improve their overall record to 30-7 overall. On the mound for the Red Raiders LHP Nate Larson (2027) fired a complete game with 7 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB and 12 K to earn the win. At the plate the Red Raider offense was led by C John Artinghelli (2028) 1-for-3, 2 RBI, RF Brady Klepfer (2026; UW Parkside) 2-for-4, 2B and LF Gavin Rettberg (2026) 2-for-4, 1 RBI, 1 R, 1 SB, 2B. Huntley advanced to the McHenry Sectional Semi-Final against St. Charles North which will be played on Wednesday 6/3 at 4:30pm.

Solorio upset No. 8 Lemont by a score of 5-4 to win the regional championship and improve their overall record to 12-12 on the season. The Sun Warriors were led by RHP Josiah Saucedo who went 6.2 IP, 4 H, 4 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 6 K to earn the win. At the plate the Sun Warriors were paced by 2B Raul Pizano (2027) 1-for-3, 2 RBI and CF Robert DeMateo (2028) 2-for-3, 1 R. Solorio advanced to the Nazareth Sectional Semi-Final against De La Salle wich will be played on Wednesday 6/3 at 2pm.

No. 9 Lane Tech defeated St. Patrick by a score of 8-5 to win the regional championship and improve their overall record to 31-6 overall. On the mound LHP Cruz Warren (2027) went 4 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 6 K out of the bullpen to earn the win for the Champions. At the plate SS Paris Head (2029) 2-for-3, 2 R, 1 RBI and RF Alex Ziegler (2026; Grinnell) 1-for-4, 2 RBI, 3B led the way for Lane Tech. The Champions advanced to the Lane Tech Sectional Semi-Final against Depaul College Prep which will be played on Wednesday 6/3 at 4:30pm.

No. 10 St. Joseph Ogden beats Bismark Henning in six inning in the Regional Championship and improves to an impressive 35-2. Asher Pruemer went the distance for St. Joesph posting a strong statline of 6 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 13 K and earned the win. St. Joesph's offense was electric the whole game collecting 11 hits. Cam Schluter (2026) 2-for-3, 2-run HR, 2B, 4 RBI, 2R, BB wreaked havoc all game. Finn Miller (2027), Kodey McKinnery (2026), and Parker Fitch (2026; Lake Land JC) each collect two hits as well. No. 10 St. Joesph Ogden will take on Tri-Valley on Wednesday in the Sectional Semifinal.

No. 11 Lockport beats Waubonsie Valley 5-3 in the Regional Championship and improves their record to 25-12. Lockports offense collect 11 hits, including three hits from Kaden O'Leary (2027). Catcher Drew Satunas (2026; Grand Valley State) was 1-for-3 with a solo homerun and DH Frank Covelli (2027) (2-for-3, HR, 3RBI, R) was also on the barrel. Austin Winge (2027) was great out of the pen for the Porters (2.1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 1 K). Parker Howland (2027) 2-for-3, RBI led the way for Waubonsie and Aanish Kamdar (2027) threw a scoreless inning out of the pen. No. 11 Lockport will take on Downers Grove North on Wednesday at 4pm.

No. 12 Libertyville takes down Stevenson in the Regional Championship 13-3 and improves their record to 26-10-1. The Libertyville offense drew 12 walks and was led by Ryan Wilberding (2027; Marshall) 1-for-1, 1RBI, 4BB and Chase Lockwood (2026; Illinois State) 2-for-3, 2B, RBI, R, BB. Lockwood got the start on the mound for the Wildcats and was lights out to earn the win (4 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 5K). Stevenson's offense was led by CF Frank Costabile (2026; UIC) 1-for-2, BB and SS Blake MacMillin (2028) 1-for-3, 1RBI and 1R. The Wildcats will face off against Mundelein on Wednesday in the Sectioanl Semifinal.

Barrington upsets No. 13 Mchenry by a score of 9-4 to capture a regional championship and improve their record to 25-12 on the season. Jack Postma (2028) gave the Broncos an all out complete game effort to earn the win (7 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 0 BB, 9 K). Shortstop Jackson Roberts (2027) (3-for-4, 2B, 1RBI, 3R) and DH Drew Whitney (2028) (3-for-4, 2 RBI) led the way offensively for the Broncos. Offensive leaders for the Warriors were Nathan Neidhardt (2026) (2-for-3, 1R) and Kaden Wasniewski (Louisiana State commit) (1-for-2, 1RBI, 1R, HBP). Barrington will take on Hononegah at 2pm on Wednesday in the Sectional semifinal.

No. 14 Geneva defeated Central by the score of 5-3. Noah Hallahan (2027) got the start and put together five strong innings of work, allowing just one earned run and collecting nine strikeouts. Aidan Hall (2026) and Tate Beran (2027) each had a pair of hits with an RBI and a run scored, with Beran also collecting a double. With their win, Geneva will head to Sycamore to play Belvidere North at in a 3A Sectional Semifinal matchup at 4:00 pm on Wednesday.

No. 15 Minooka took down Plainfield Central by the score of 11-1 in five innings. Brady Kozlowski (2026; Findlay) saw the ball well and did everything you could ask for out of the cleanup spot, collecting two extra base hits in a 2-for-4 showing, hitting a double, a home run, driving in four runs and one run scored. Rhett Harris (2026; Parkland) drove in three runs of his own while collecting two hits in a 2-for-3 showing. Gavin McReynolds (2026; Wisconsin-Stout) and Landon Currie (2027) each had two hits and scored a pair of runs. McReynolds finished 2-for-4 with two RBIs in addition to the two runs scored, with Currie finishing 2-for-3 with a walk and a double. Jason Duy (2026; Aurora) finished the day with a pair of hits and a run scored on the day. Camden Rujawitz (2026; Parkland) got the start, allowing two hits and two walks with four strikeouts over five innings of work, allowing just one unearned run to come across to score. With their win, Minooka will take on Normal Community at Duffy Bass Field at Illinois State University this Wednesday at 6:00 pm.

No. 16 Mascoutah took down Mt. Vernon in a 4-0 shutout. Darren Klein (2027) threw a seven inning shutout, allowing just five men on base and punching out four. Offensively, Carson Moll (2026; Rend Lake) drove in two of Mascoutah's four runs, finishing the day 1-for-4. David Schulte (2026) had a double and drove in a run, finishing the day 1-for-2. With their win over Mt. Vernon, Mascoutah is set to take on Jacksonville at Triad High School this Wednesday at 4:30 in the 3A Troy Sectional semifinal.

No. 17 Tremont took down Fieldcrest by the score of 6-0. Chase Rhodes (2026; John A. Logan) was nothing short of dominant in his six innings of work, silencing the Fieldcrest bats throughout six shutout innings, only allowing one hit, one walk, and punching out fourteen batters. Griffin Meeker (2026; Heartland) threw one inning out of the 'pen, a perfect inning 1-2-3 inning with a pair of punchouts. Offensively, Jake Williams (2028) contributed three runs in total, going 1-for-2 with a walk, an RBI, and scoring twice. Josh Papenhause (2026) and Jordan Balsimo (2026) each had a double and an RBI in the win. With their win over Fieldcrest, Tremont heads to the 1A Sectional Semifinal at Illinois Wesleyan this Wednesday at 4:30 pm.

No. 18 Normal University took down Rantoul, shutting them out and winning by 9-0. Issac Shroeder was dominant in his start, throwing five shutout innings with six strikeouts. Parker Roop was strong in relief and closed it out, allowing no runs over more than an inning of work with three strikeouts. Roop was also perfect at the plate, reaching base all four times in a 3-for-3 showing, hitting a double, collecting a walk, two RBIs, and scoring two runs. Boey Klemmensen collected a pair of RBIs at the plate, finishing the day 1-for-2. Cole Brent hit a double and had an RBI out of the leadoff spot with a run scored in the win. With their win over Rantoul, Normal University will go take on Sacred Heart-Griffin in the 3A Mt. Zion Sectional Semifinal at 6:30 pm on Wednesday.

No. 19 Lincoln-Way West defeated Homewood-Flossmoor by the score of 6-2. Jackson Mansker (2026; Indianapolis) was seeing the ball well out of the three-hole, hitting two extra base hits in a 2-for-3 performance, hitting a double and a home run, a walk, driving in two RBIs and scoring a run. Carson Paulas (2026) also reached base twice out of the leadoff spot, going 2-for-4 and even driving in two. Kellen Schulte (2026; Missouri Southern) got the start for the Warriors, allowing just two runs in four innings of work, striking out three. Owen Chudzinski (2027) threw three shutout innings in relief to secure the win. With their win over Homewood-Flossmoor, Lincoln-Way West will take on Sandburg in a 4A Sectional Semifinal showdown.

No. 21 Sacred Heart-Griffin took down Springfield by the score of 4-1. Chase Beckham (2027) got the start and would only allow one run to scored across over five innings of work, while also striking out three. Drew Ward (2026; Illinois Wesleyan) would come around to score two runs out of the leadoff spot in a 1-for-3 showing. Ethan Cour (2027) would reach base all three times he came up to the plate, finishing the day 2-for-2 with a triple, a walk, and a run scored. Mikey Groesch (2027) and Austin Rutter (2027) each had a hit and an RBI in the win. With their win over Springfield, Sacred Heart-Griffin will go to take on Normal University in the 3A Mt. Zion Sectional Semifinal at 6:30 pm.

No. 22 Edwardsville shut out Collinsville in the 4A Regional Final, winning by the score of 7-0. Edwardsville got seven combine shutout innings from three arms, with Hunter Baugh (2026; Lindenwood) getting the start. Baugh went four innings, allowing two hits and two walks with three strikeouts, and Nicholas Chiarodo (2028) and Chase Milburn (2026; Heartland) would follow. Chiarodo went two shutout innings, striking out one, with Milburn collecting three quick outs in his perfect inning of relief. Offensively, Jack Kirgan put together a two-hit day with two RBIs, with Nathan Bukovac Also going 2-for-3 with two runs scored in the win. Hunter Baugh also contributed at the plate to go along with his strong start, going 1-for-4 with a double, collecting two RBIs and a run scored. With the win over Collinsville, the Tigers will head to Southern Illinois University for a 4A Sectional Semifinal matchup at 6:00 pm.

No. 23 Marquette defeated Bishop McNamara at in walk-off fashion, winning 4-3 after a walk-off home run by Anthony Couch (2026; Spoon River). Couch drove in all four runs for the Crusaders, finishing the day 2-for-3 with a double, a home run, a walk, and four RBIs. Alec Novotney (2026; Valparaiso) threw seven innings for a complete game, striking out tweleve and allowing three runs. With their win over Bishop McNamara, Marquette will head to Herscher for the 2A Herscher Section to take on IC Catholic at 2:00 pm this Wednesday.

No. 24 Dunlap took down Morton in the 3A Regional Finals, winning by the score of 10-0 in just five innings. Carter Lippens (2027) went the distance for Dunlap, putting together five shutout innings, all while striking out twelve. Brett Alkire (2027) reached base three times in the game and even had the game-winning single in the fifth, finishing the day 2-for-3 with a walk, two RBIs, and a run scored. Both Isaac Babbs (2027) and Truman Tyra (2026) had two-hit games with two RBIs each. With the win over Morton, Dunlap heads to the 3A Washington Sectional Semifinal this Wednesday to take on Joliet Catholic at 7:00 pm.

St. Anthony shut out No. 25 Teutopolis by the score of 5-0 in the 2A Vandalia Regional Final. Aiden Lauritzen (2026) threw a complete game shutout for the Bulldogs, only allowing seven runners on all game. Henry Brent (2026) opened the scoring in the third with an RBI single, driving in a total of two runs in the game in a 1-for-3 performance. Charley Spour (2027) had the lone multi-hit game for any of the St. Anthony batters, going 2-fo-3, hitting a double with an RBI. With the win over Teutopolis in the Regional Final, St. Anthony will head to Greenville University to take on Breese Central in the 2A Greenville sectional at 2:00 PM.

Deerfield took down Lake Forest by the score of 5-2. Sean McNair (2026; Lafayette) put together 6.2 strong innings of work, allowing just two runs to score with seven strikeouts on the day. Matthew Willner (2026) went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Drew Wiener was 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Easton Newman (NIU) was 1-for-3 with two runs scored. Alex Edgar was 1-for-3. Grant Wilson was 1-for-1 with an RBI. Jack Agran was 1-for-4 with an RBI, run scored and a stolen base. Chase Golding was 1-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Deerfield will take on Crystal Lake South in a 3A Sectional Semifinal on Wednesday at 2:00 pm.

Harvest-Westminster defeated Marengo by a score of 7-5 to win the regional championship and run their season record to 24-7 overall on the season. On the mound Ryan St. Louis (2027) went 5.1 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 7 K to earn the win for the win for the Warriors. St. Louis helped his own cause by going 3-for-3 at the plate and scoring 2 runs. Carter Goetz went 1-for-3 with 3 RBI for the Warriors to lead the attack. Harvest-Westminster advanced to the Byron Sectional Semi-Final against Riverdale that will be played on Wednesday 6/3 at 7pm.

Nazareth Academy defeated Timothy Christian by the score of 10-2. The Roadrunners had the bats working, putting up sixteen hits as a team. Landon Thome (2026; Florida State) led the team in hits on the day, finishing the day 3-for-4 with a double, a triple, two RBIs and a run scored. Kam Alikhan (2026; John A. Logan) homered in a 2-for-3 showing with a walk, driving in three runs on the day with two runs scored. Marco Fiore (2028), Bobby Labuda (2026) and Jimmy O'Connor (2028) all joined in on the fun, with each batter putting together two hits with an RBI in the game. Gavin Hartigan (2028) (1-for-3, 2 R, BB, SB), Todd Dulaney (2029) (2-for-4, 2 R, SB) and Drew Hyland (2026; Grand Valley State) (1-for--1, 2 R) all chippped in as well. On the mound, Connor McKay (2026; Northern Illinois) got the start, putting together three hitless innings with only one hit by pitch allowed, and striking out four. Eddie Donnelly (2027) struck out three over two innings - chile Christian Drye (2028) and O'Connor each struck out the side in their lone innings of work. With their win over Timothy Christian, Nazareth Academy will now take on Montini Catholic this Wednesday at 4:30 in a 3A Sectional Semifinal showdown.

Wilmington defeated Coal City by the score of 9-0. Cooper Holman (2027; Bradley) drove in four of Wilmington's nine runs, finishing the day 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored. Nash Rink (2027) went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs of his own and a run scored, and Ryan Kettman (2026) also drove in a pair out of the leadoff spot. Kettman was also tasked with the start and was dominant in his outing, putting together a complete game, seven-inning shutout with only two hits and two walks allowed, while striking out seven. With their win over Coal City, Wilmington is set to take on Manteno in the 2A Sectional semifinal in Herscher on Wednesday at 4:30 pm.

Bartlett took down Batavia in an extra inning thriller, winning by the score of 3-2 in eleven innings. Brandon Pelz (2026; Valparaiso) and Josh Colaizzi (2026; McHenry County) both put together strong outings on the mound for Bartlett en route to the win. Pelz got the start, throwing six shutout innings, allowing three hits, a walk, and punching out eight. Colaizzi was strong in his five innings of work as well, allowing five hits and two runs with three strikeouts out of the 'pen. At the plate, Brandon Pelz also had the most hits of any Bartlett bat, going 3-for-4 with an RBI that included the game-tying hit by pitch in the seventh. Vince Yario (2026; Harper) went 2-for-5 on the day, and even had the game winning hit by pitch in the bottom of the eleventh to secure the win. With their win, Bartlett is set to take on Maine South this Wednesday at 4:30 pm in Bartlett in a 3A Sectional Semifinal.

Grayslake Central shuts out Prairie Ridge 3-0 capturing a Regional Title and improving their overall record to 27-8. Beau Barrows (2028) got the start on the mound for the Rams and was outstanding in a complete game effort 7 IP, 2 H, 0R, 0ER, BB, 2K and earned the win. Carson Woods (2026) went 2-for-2, RBI and led the way offensively for the Rams. Beckett Breseman (2027) and Jack Spindler (2026) each collected a hit for the Wolves.

St. Rita defeaeted Brement by a score of 13-1 to win the regional championship and improve their record to 25-12 on the season. RHP Sullivan Kazee (2026; Southeastern CC) went 4 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 9 K for the Mustangs to earn the win. RF Aden Gutierrez (2028) went 3-for-3 on the day with 3 runs scored, while both C Colin Quinn (2026; Heartland CC) and Jayden Ibarra (2027) each drove in 4 runs. Braden Quinn added a two-run homer. The Mustangs advanced to the Brooks Sectional Semi-Final against Evergreen Park which will be played on Wednesday 6/3 at 4:30pm.
