Top Contenders
#1 Bainbridge
The Spartans earn the 1 seed after a 20-3 season to this point, finishing 1st in our 2A team power rankings and 6th overall in our Postseason edition of the Power 25. Bainbridge has yet to lose to a 2A opponent this season, dropping games only to 3A/4A sides while rolling through their regular season schedule. Seniors McCrea Curfman and Trey Thompson have continued to dominate on the mound. Eli Tracy has also emerged down the stretch as a viable option on the pitching side. The lineup is as deep as any team in the state. A pair of sophomores have really made an impact near the top of the order in Dominic D'Amico and Henry Olsen. Senior Will Rohrbacher boasts game changing power, while fellow senior AJ Larsen delivered one of the most clutch swings we've seen this year with a big grand slam in a live look. The Spartans can beat you in several different ways and will be a tough out as they look to defend their 2A state title from last season.
#2 Tumwater
Another consistent, deep squad that has been a staple in our Power 25 this spring, the TBirds look to be one of the biggest threats to knocking out the defending champs. For Tumwater, it starts with top-ten ranked junior and Future Games alum Luke Overbay. The Michigan commit has been exceptional both on the mound and at the plate this season, winning his league POTY and making an impact at all times. Elsewhere on the mound, senior Braeden Konrad is an experienced arm that should get the ball in the playoffs. The lineup is strong and features a ton of experienced upperclassman, including Peyton Davis, Jimmy Womach, Liam Gustafson, Wyatt Chase and Charlie Crawford. The speed and athleticism in the position player group is balanced with a nice mix of power and L/R hitters top to bottom. Tumwater is 20-4, 4th in RPI and will host a regional in hopes of making a deep run.
#3 Othello
One of the strongest sides in the eastern part of the state, the Huskies are currently 21-4, sitting at 3rd in RPI and hosting a regional as a 3 seed. The pitching looks to be the strong suit, led by league POTY '27 Xzyyvn Martinez, who did not allow an earned run in league play. Senior Quade Gonzalez took home first team all-league honors after hitting over .550 at the dish with an ERA just over 1 on the mound. Aiden Garza was the other first teamer after a 6-0 record with a 0.39 ERA and 65 K's in 35 innings. The pitching as a whole has limited their opponents to 2 runs or less in 11 of the last 12 games. On the offensive side, Martinez and Gonzalez will pose the biggest threats, but RJay Garza and Ryan Martinez have also had nice seasons and should contribute. A well-rounded side will be a team to watch, particularly as we move deeper into the playoff races.
#4 West Valley (Spokane)
One of the real great stories and follows this spring has been the Eagles, who have improved on their record from last season and currently sit at 20-2. West Valley sits at 5th in RPI and earned the 4th overall seed to host a regional this weekend. The pitching has been a strong suit, led by several different arms who get it done in different ways. Sophomore lefty Carson Gaumer is a strike thrower who works deep into games. Righties Hewson Spencer and Scout Symmes have also been key pitchers all season long. On the offensive side, West Valley has exploded at times, scoring double digit runs in 14 of their games. Gaumer, Spencer and Symmes have all been staples in the heart of the order, foritified by players such as Dax Zaman, Autzen Kearsley and Tyler Judd. Look for the Eagles to make real noise if they can make it out of their tough regional.
#5 WF West
The strongest non-regional hosting side at the 2A level, WF West earned the top spot in RPI at 21-4 and will have a chip on their shoulders heading into gameplay this weekend. The Bearcats are led by star senior LHP Connor Coleman, a Washington State commit who can do it all on the mound and in the middle of the order. In the rotation, arms such as Hayden Rooney and Emmett Goodman have also gotten the ball and worked deep into games down the stretch this season. WF West features an athletic top part of the lineup with Wyatt Hoffman and Hiroto Smaciarz forming the 1-2. The Bearcats lone losses have come to Tumwater and Columbia River at the 2A level, both teams in this state tournament. Expect WF West to make some real noise in the West Valley Spokane regional with potential to surprise some with a deep run.

Top Contenders
#1 Montesano
The Bulldogs have separated themselves at the 1A level, entering the state tournament at 24-0. Montesano is the top-ranked team in RPI and in our 1A team rankings, earning the 1 seed and the lone spot as a 1A team in our Playoff Power 25. They're led by a great duo of junior arms in Kolson Hendrickson and Caden Grubb. Both uncommitted players were seen at PNW Preseason All-State this winter and have been dominant all season. The pitching has been especially great of late, throwing three straight shutouts heading into the state tourney. In the lineup, Colton Grubb, Toren Crites and Tyson Perry have all been key players in the middle of the order. Montesano has as good of a shot as any team to take home the 1A state title in Bellingham next weekend.
#2 Cashmere
The other 1A side that has separated from the rest this season, Cashmere is 23-1 heading into state, the only team apart from Montesano with less than 5 losses at the 1A level. On the offensive side, senior outfielder Tom McDevitt has led the way for the Bulldogs. McDevitt is hitting .449 with 26 RBI and 43 runs scored in 22 games played. Elsewhere in the order, Ethan Bessonette, Jacoby Tait, and Rylan Hatmaker are other regulars who are all hitting over .400 this spring. On the mound, sophomore Mac Carlson has been the go-to guy, throwing 55.2 innings with an ERA just over 1. McDevitt has also been key on the mound, with a 0.60 ERA in over 40 innings. One of these two is sure to get the ball in game one, with the other lined up for a game two in a weekend. Expect Cashmere to be right in the mix when it's all said and done at the end of the state tournament.
#5 Seton Catholic
We're singling out Seton Catholic as the lone non-regional host because of the talent and depth on the roster. The team overall is 19-5 and ranked 4th in 1A RPI heading into state gameplay. Senior infielder and Portland commit Teddy Wieczorek is a bracket-changing type talent at the top of the order. The Future Games alum can get on base with ease and carries some sneaky power. Elsewhere in the order, Kolton Gesser, Gavin Dumas and Dalton Woods make up the heart of the lineup. Gesser in particular is also an arm that no team will want to see come game time, and Woods presents a nice option on the mound as well. We'd look for Seton Catholic to be a strong contender to come out of what is an extremely tough regional hosted at Whitworth University.
