2026 Prep Baseball Kansas POWER 25 - WEEK 7

It was a crucial week across the state, featuring a compact conference slate due to midseason tournaments and festivals. This flurry of action has resulted in a new No. 1 atop our latest Power 25 rankings.

Blue Valley officially takes over the top spot, solidifying its position as one of the state's most consistent programs. The Tigers currently sit at 20-2, supported by a resume that includes victories over Missouri top-five squads Liberty North and Blue Springs South, as well as Oklahoma’s defending 6A state champion, Edmond Santa Fe.

Behind them, Mulvane, Maize, Lawrence Free State, and Mill Valley round out the top five, while Olathe East and St. Thomas Aquinas drop to No. 6 and No. 8, respectively. Meanwhile, Salina Central climbs two spots to No. 7 as they continue to pile up wins.

Manhattan and McPherson also see their stock rise in this update, moving up to No. 11 and No. 13. The Bullpups are fresh off a successful 2-0 road trip to Oklahoma, highlighted by a victory over No. 16 Carl Albert (OK).

The biggest riser of the week is De Soto, which leaped eight spots to No. 15. The Wildcats have erased their slow start to the season, winning eight in a row, including a resounding victory over Blue Valley Southwest. Conversely, Piper, Jefferson West, and Washburn Rural all fall back after suffering multiple losses over the past week.

Hayden leads the list of new entrants this week at No. 19. Sporting a 15-3 record, the Wildcats currently hold the top seed in 4A East and boast quality wins over Manhattan, Sabetha, Blue Valley Southwest, and Emporia. Behind them, Concordia re-enters the rankings at No. 20 with a 15-2 record, followed by Shawnee Mission West at No. 21. The Vikings are once again begining their annual late-season surge, riding a five-game winning streak that includes victories over Missouri No. 1 Liberty North, Olathe South, and Gardner-Edgerton.

Our final newcomer of the week is Bishop Carroll at No. 24 who went 3-0 this past week with a convincing win over then ranked Derby.
