The 2026 high school baseball season is underway and, as usual, excitement is present throughout Minnesota. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across the North Star State.

Each week we will be releasing our Power Rankings, Scout Blog, Diamond Notes, and Player of The Week, covering all the bases. Today, we look at the scores from our teams in our Power Rankings.

NOTES

+ No. 4 Andover took its first loss of the season, falling 6-1 to Marshall. The offense was limited, with Cale Rowe (2027, SS, Uncommitted) accounting for the damage, going 2-for-4 with a triple and scoring the lone run. Logan Nistler (2026, RHP, Minnesota State-Mankato) was a bright spot on the mound, working four hitless, scoreless innings while striking out seven. The Huskies move to 5-1.

No. 5 Mounds View kept it rolling, holding off Chisago Lakes 8-6 to stay unbeaten. Cooper Caligiuri (2026, C/RHP, Uncommitted) led the way at the plate, going 3-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI, while RJ Madison (2027, OF, Uncommitted) added two hits and two stolen bases. The swing of the game came in the fifth, when Andrew Gette (2026, RHP, Miami) launched a three-run home run to give the Mustangs the lead for good. Mounds View is now 6-0.

No. 10 Chaska picked up a key section win, beating Eden Prairie 5-2. Thomas Leeper (2028, RHP, Uncommitted) set the tone on the mound, going 6.2 innings while allowing just two hits and one walk, striking out five. Kalin Jochum (2027, IF/RHP, Uncommitted) delivered the big swing in a four-run sixth, driving in two with a double. Matthew Welter (2026, 1B, Augustana) added a 2-for-3 day with two runs scored and a stolen base. The Hawks improve to 4-0.
