Key Moments:
GM1: Grayson jumped out to an early lead thanks to a Deuce Smith triple as they led 1-0 heading to the bottom half of the 1st. Loganville responded with 2-runs of their own behind a couple of infield singles. Brantley Carter executed a squeeze to perfection in the 3rd as the Red Devils tacked on another to make it 3-1. Brantley Carter came through again in the 5th after Tripp Sapp & Jake Boland reached for an RBI double as Loganville led 4-1 after 5. Aiden Gorvett opened the bottom half of the 6th with a ground-rule double and Dawson Allen singled shortly after. Kaiden Howell picked up an RBI knock as well to make it 6-1. Jake Boland was really good out of the pen as he tossed 3.0 scoreless innings pitched to complete the 6–1 victory.
GM2: The Red Devils set the tone early as they jumped on top (1-0) while facing a potent arm talent behind a lead-off walk from Kaiden Howell and a double from Tripp Sapp. A 5-run 4th inning propelled Loganville's offense en route to another victory. Zac Cuneio, Aiden Gorvett, Kaiden Howell, and Brantley Carter all had pivotal base-hits in the 4th. Aiden Watson was locked in for Loganville on the mound as he faced the minimum across 6.0 IP. Weasley Roberson was able to work a walk and eventually came around to score in the 7th to make it a 6-1 final.
Avery’s Takeaway: Loganville did the Loganville thing across the DH as they executed timely knocks and got runners into scoring position to push across runs. The lineup 1-9 understands their roles and embraces that type of gritty Red Devil mantra as anyone can pace the offense on a nightly basis. The defense looked the part as Kaiden Howell captains the infield at the 6. Jake Boland & Aiden Watson put together strong efforts on the mound and were key pieces across the double-header sweep. The Red Devils appear to be geared up for another deep playoff run and a shot at the 5A state title once again.
Grayson had some pieces in the lineup including names like Deuce Smith, Adrian Figueroa, Cayden Mader, Chase Carmichael, and Darien Smith that pace this offense. The Rams have the potential to be a sleeper team if the pieces can fall into place behind Michael Hambrick and Mader.
Glynn Academy dropped their game against Loganville 6-1 as the offense couldn’t seem to get anything going. Jacob Sammis showed off the arm talent in a brief 3-inning look as he was up to 95. Wessley Roberson and Gage Freeman were the teams lone hits on the afternoon. The Red Terrors with look to bounce back on their trip up north as they square off against Woodward Academy Thursday evening.
Wesleyan @ Whitfield Academy
Score: Wesleyan win, 7-1
Standouts:
Maddox McCollum, RHP, 2027, Wesleyan
Stellar outing from 2027 RHP Maddox McCollum.

7.0 IP, 1 H, 1 R (0 ER), 2 BB, 5 K

CB: 71-74; Late bite

Smokes this pull-side for his 3rd HR this spring. @WesleyanWolves || #GAHS26 pic.twitter.com/kDIWBAt6I8
Key Moments: The Wolves would jump out to an early lead thanks to a pair of hits in the 1st with a 2B from Carter Hayes followed by Ryley Webb with the RBI 1B. Wolfpack would tie things up in the 3rd on an error before Brice Gillis would break things open for Wesleyan in the 5th. A HBP and intentional walk would put two on before the senior would swat his 8th HR of the year to dead CF. The Wolves would keep adding in the 6th and 7th as well, highlighted by a rocket 2-run HR from Andrew Waite.
Ian’s Takeaway: We talk about the offense showing at a high-level across the private classification and Wesleyan fit the bill tonight while showing they have the frontline ace to match. Maddox McCollum flashed the high-level pitchability all game and gives this team a chance for a 1-0 lead in any series the rest of the spring. The senior duo of Carter Hayes and Brice Gillis have been providing the impact for this lineup all spring with a combined 15 HR and 42 RBI while both are hitting .420 to match. Coleman Eldridge, Quin Davis, Knox Bingham, and Ryley Webb add more leadership and sophomore OF Andrew Waite is coming into his own quickly and can fill a role anywhere in the lineup. Playoffs are going to be here in no time and the Wolves are getting hot at the right time.
