2026 Prep Baseball Wisconsin Second Team, All-State

By Andy Sroka
National Managing Editor, Scouting

The Prep Baseball Wisconsin 2026 All-State rollout continues. After unveiling our First Team, All-State roster on Friday, we’re back with the Second Team today, with our Third Team still to come. Coaches from around Wisconsin submitted some of their top performers throughout the year, and our staff has sifted through the numbers in order to determine who is worthy of these end-of-spring accolades.

You can find our 2022-2025 all-state honorees listed on this page, if you’re interested.

Now, here are the 19 players who have earned a place on the 2026 Prep Baseball Wisconsin Second Team, All-State roster.

CATCHERS

Haaken Hovestol C / Delavan-Darien, WI / 2027

AVG OBP SLG OPS XBH RBI R SB K
.552 .677 .881 1.557 17 22 47 18 6

One of the best uncommitted catchers in the area, Hovestol added real physicality this spring and lowered his strikeout rate down to almost nothing, which resulted in one of the most productive offensive seasons in the state. The left-handed hitter reached base nearly 70 percent of the time, hit .552 with 13 doubles, scored 47 runs, and struck out just six times all year. He’s a sound receiver behind the plate to boot, and the combination earned him South Central Player of the Year. With his bat-to-ball skill, on-base ability, and defensive reliability already in place as a junior this past season, Hovestol is one of the more appealing uncommitted backstops in the state.

Logan Hagman C / Hudson, WI / 2027

AVG OBP SLG 2B HR RBI R BB
.440 .596 .787 12 4 33 39 25

One of the top overall 2027s in the state, Hagman pairs some of the best raw power in his class with a bat that makes sure he gets to it often enough in-game. He racked up 17 extra-base hits, drove in 33 runs, and scored 39 more as a backstop who took a clear step forward defensively this season, posting a perfect fielding percentage. Hitting next to Auburn commit Jace Mataczynski, Hagman helped form one of the most lethal middle-of-the-order tandems in Wisconsin, and he saved a signature moment for a walk-off grand slam against Eau Claire Memorial. Already past the 100-hit and 100-run milestones for his career at Hudson, the Minnesota commit still has one more year to add to an impressive career for the Raiders.

INFIELDERS

Chance Ruby SS / RHP / Wilmot Union, WI / 2026

AVG OBP SLG 2B 3B RBI R SB
.469 .554 .702 9 5 19 36 9

Among the very best athletes in the state, Ruby is a do-it-all player who earned first-team, all-state honors as a junior and returns as a second-teamer after another excellent senior spring. The UIC recruit hit .469 with 45 hits and 14 extra-base knocks, scored 36 runs, and remained one of the toughest at-bats in the state while continuing to make plays at shortstop that most of his peers simply cannot. He was a weapon on the mound as well, striking out 22 in 13.2 innings with a 1.02 ERA. A four-year varsity starter who missed just one game across his career, Ruby leaves Wilmot Union as one of the best players in program history.

Ian Kawczynski SS / Catholic Memorial, WI / 2026

AVG OBP SLG 2B 3B RBI R SB
.416 .505 .730 10 6 18 34 23

Arguably the best defensive shortstop in Wisconsin, Kawczynski took a real step forward offensively this spring to round out his profile. The UW-Milwaukee recruit hit .416 with 18 extra-base hits and 23 stolen bases, pairing that production with the kind of premium actions and hands that make him a plus defender at the six. That two-way impact made him one of the best players in a rugged Classic 8 Conference and earned him a first-team all-conference nod. With his glove already projecting to carry at the next level and his bat trending up, Kawczynski is a well-rounded infield prospect headed to UW-Milwaukee.

Braun Wotruba SS / Pulaski, WI / 2027

AVG OBP SLG OPS 2B 3B HR RBI
.471 .586 .812 1.397 7 5 4 29

One of the best pure right-handed hitters in the state’s 2027 class, Wotruba is also a top uncommitted bat in the area. He hit .471 with a near-1.400 OPS this spring, spraying 16 extra-base hits and driving in 29 runs while manning shortstop for the Red Raiders. The right-handed stroke produces to all fields contact and he doesn't swing-and-miss much either. As an uncommitted '27 with this kind of offensive track record, Wotruba is a name college coaches can prioritize this spring.

Caleb Johns 1B / DH / New Berlin Eisenhower, WI / 2026

AVG OBP SLG 2B HR RBI R BB
.451 .560 .901 10 6 43 27 19

Injuries pushed Johns all around the diamond this spring, including to first base, but he never stopped producing, ranking among the most impactful hitters in the WIAA regardless of where he lined up. The Rock Valley JC commit hit .451 and slugged .901 with six home runs and 43 RBIs, powering through to help carry New Berlin Eisenhower back to a sectional final, where the Lions fell in a tight battle with eventual state champion and rival Pewaukee. He was a part of a couple particularly clutch moments for Ike this season, from a walk-off homer to clinch a regional title against Greendale to a save in the sectional semifinal against Whitnall. His left-handed production this season stacks up against just about anyone.

Eli Hart SS / Bay Port, WI / 2028

AVG OBP SLG HR RBI R BB SB
.434 .587 .868 6 20 35 26 15

A clutch hitter all spring, Hart did his damage while starting at shortstop as just a sophomore for one of the top programs in the state. He hit .434 with six home runs and reached base at a .587 clip for a 24-4 Bay Port club, and he consistently rose to the occasion, delivering a walk-off homer against Sheboygan North during the regular season before hitting a pair of home runs in the postseason. That kind of playoff production from an underclassman is exactly the kind of arrow-up profile that stands out against the crowd, and Hart will get the chance to be a member of Team Wisconsin at the 2026 Prep Baseball Future Games at the end of this month.

OUTFIELDERS

Joseph Meeter OF / Holmen, WI / 2026

AVG OBP SLG 2B HR RBI R SB
.481 .580 .835 8 6 24 33 12

Meeter’s power potential rivals that of some of the best sluggers in the state, which is no small statement considering he shares a graduating class with Dominic Santarelli. The South Dakota State recruit hit .481 with six homers and 33 runs scored, and he saved his best for the brightest lights, hitting .466 against ranked opponents and homering in the first inning of a regional final. A back-to-back conference player of the year, Meeter graduates as the owner of essentially every meaningful Holmen career record, impressive given the quality prospects that have come through the program in recent years. He’s been one of the best players in western Wisconsin for a couple of seasons running, and we're eager to see how his bat transfers to the college game where it has room to grow even more.

Camden Glusick OF / Sun Prairie East, WI / 2027

AVG OBP SLG 2B HR RBI R SB
.442 .533 .733 11 4 24 39 22

A true center field-type defender with one of the best bat-to-ball profiles in the state, Glusick began marrying that contact skill with more extra-base production as a junior. He hit .442 with 11 doubles and just seven strikeouts, scored 39 runs, and stole 22 bases, with above-average speed that he uses to take elite routes in center. He did it in a competitive Big Eight Conference and against one of the toughest non-conference schedules in Wisconsin. Still uncommitted, the 6-foot-1 Glusick is an up-the-middle athlete whose recruitment should accelerate this summer.

Kingston Grisolono OF / Kewaskum, WI / 2027

AVG OBP SLG HR RBI R BB SB
.408 .549 .859 6 36 34 23 21

Few players in Wisconsin possess the kind of tool set Grisolono does. The Evansville commit flashes some of the best left-handed bat strength in the 2027 class, and he backed it up by slugging .859 across 28 games with six homers, 36 RBIs, and 21 stolen bases. His impact wasn’t limited to the batter’s box either. Playing a premium center field, he racked up four outfield assists, gunning down one runner at third and three more at the plate. He was a first-teamer as a sophomore last year and kept up his production in his junior season, which leads us to believe he's primed for an all-time senior spring in 2027.

Bron Schaefer OF / LHP / Kaukauna, WI / 2026

AVG OBP SLG 2B RBI R BB SB
.478 .611 .598 9 19 39 23 22

Schaefer was the heartbeat of a Kaukauna club that captured the WIAA Division 1 State Championship. We’ve valued him highly as a pitcher throughout his prep career, and while injuries kept him off the mound for much of his senior season, he simply found another way to will the Ghosts to a title. He reached base at a .611 clip on the year and turned into the single toughest out of the postseason, slashing .737/.800/1.000 with five steals across Kaukauna’s six playoff games. When he was able to take the ball down the stretch, he delivered there too, tossing 17 postseason innings while allowing just five runs, striking out 20, and winning all three of his starts. The Madison JC commit is a total gamer whose competitiveness and two-way ability defined a championship run.

PITCHERS

Drew Stettbacher LHP / North Fond du Lac, WI / 2027

IP H BB K ERA
56.1 27 13 105 0.74

Stettbacher is vying for the top-ranked southpaw spot in a 2027 class that already features several of the best left-handers in the Midwest. He wrapped up an absolutely dominant junior spring with 56.1 innings, recording nearly two strikeouts per frame (105 total), against just 13 walks. That kind of command/control and swing-and-miss combo that produced a 0.74 ERA and a WHIP around 0.80. He’s been up to 90 mph on the mound this summer, and his secondaries are missing bats in a way that signals he’s only scratching the surface. The Central Michigan commit is one of the most improved left-handed arms in the state, and that's after a year in which he pitched at the Prep Baseball Future Games and really broke out for the first time.

Logan Wierzba LHP / West De Pere, WI / 2026

IP W-L H K ERA WHIP
54.1 7-2 35 90 1.29 0.83

A three-time all-conference and two-time all-district selection, Wierzba earns his spot here after an overpowering senior season: 90 strikeouts in 54.1 innings with a WHIP under 0.90. The Iowa Western JC commit throws a ton of strikes, and it's what he's become known for, really. He set West De Pere records for both strike rate (71.0%) and strikeout-to-walk ratio (9-to-1), and it showed in a two-hit, 17-strikeout complete-game gem against crosstown rivals De Pere. He nearly willed the Phantoms to a state berth too, punching out 13 across six innings while allowing a lone run against Bay Port in the sectional semifinal before a late comeback came after he’d reached his pitch limit.

Sutton Nelson RHP / Waupun, WI / 2029

IP K BB ERA WHIP
60.2 99 15 1.19 0.74

Nelson is the only member of the Class of 2029 to appear on either our First- or Second-Team, All-State lists this year, and he absolutely earned it. As just a freshman, he emerged as the ace of a Waupun squad that reached the WIAA Division 2 state semifinals, striking out 99 batters while walking only 15 on the season. His signature moment came at the state tourney when he was handed the ball against St. Joseph Catholic and the two-time Player of the Year. Nelson punched out the state’s best hitter in his first at-bat, fanned 10 over 5.2 innings, and held one of the most dangerous lineups in Wisconsin to four runs. Before that, he’d allowed just four earned runs across his previous 55 innings. With this kind of whiff-inducing stuff as just a 15-year-old, Nelson has a chance to develop into one of the best prospects in the state, where he's already ranked No. 5 overall.

Damian Kosempa RHP / Marquette University, WI / 2026

IP W-L H K ERA WHIP
54.2 5-1 20 90 1.28 1.21

Kosempa authored one of the more exciting breakout years of anyone on this list. He completely leveled up over the offseason, regularly reaching the low-90s in-game and pairing that velocity with what are possibly two of the best secondaries in the state: a special low-80s slider and a very unique changeup, and this arsenal drew pro scouts to his starts this spring. He can be effectively wild at this stage of his development, but he locked in when it mattered most, allowing just 15 runs all spring while striking out 90 and surrendering only 20 hits across 54.2 innings. The Saint Louis commit was instrumental in getting Marquette University to the D1 state tournament, and his ceiling is as high as any arm in this class.

Ashtyn Seifert RHP / Beaver Dam, WI / 2027

IP W-L K ERA WHIP
41.0 6-0 68 0.85 0.81

Seifert was one of the efficient and tough-to-hit arms in the state this spring and it's already transferred into the summer, where he continues to draw uncommitted attention. For Beaver Dam as a junior, Seifert was as stingy a pitcher as there was in the state, with an ERA and WHIP each below 0.90. It's a mid- to upper-80s fastball with rise/run traits, and he demonstrates control over a curveball and changeup combo that separates himself from his peers, just like he did this spring. He was the Badger Large Pitcher of the Year and a South Central All-District selection as well.

UTILITY

Cal Moreau SS / RHP / Monona Grove, WI / 2026

AVG HR RBI R SB OPS IP K ERA WHIP
.424 4 16 39 15 1.236 27.1 34 2.31 1.35

A four-year varsity starter and back-to-back Badger Large Conference Player of the Year, Moreau is one of the top-ranked players in the state’s senior class and maybe the most decorated player in the Monona Grove program's history. He put together the best offensive season of his prep career this spring, hitting .424 with a 1.236 OPS, 39 runs, and 15 steals while remaining a steady presence on the mound. He leaves as the program’s all-time leader in hits, doubles, home runs, stolen bases, runs, innings, and strikeouts, and he was the driving force behind the Silver Eagles' four straight sectional appearances. A 6-foot-3, 187-pound athlete with as much upside as anyone in the state, Moreau is going to be a very fun follow at UCF where it's a wonder how much further he can raise his own ceiling.

Kale Schneider RHP / OF / Lodi, WI / 2027

AVG 2B RBI R OPS IP W-L K ERA WHIP
.407 10 33 27 1.188 53.0 7-1 82 1.19 1.11

A three-year starter and a gifted multi-sport athlete, Schneider had an especially big spring on the mound while continuing to swing a productive bat. The junior went 7-1 with a 1.19 ERA and 82 strikeouts across 53 innings, missing bats at a high rate and giving Lodi a genuine front-line arm. Offensively, the Lodi two-way hit .407 with 15 extra-base hits and 33 RBIs. That production as an uncommitted underclassman high-end athleticism makes Schneider one of the more interesting uncommitted prospects to know headed into the remainder of this summer and for the fall.

Sam Abrahamson 2B / RHP / Hudson, WI / 2026

AVG 2B 3B RBI R OPS IP W-L K ERA WHIP
.409 8 5 19 35 1.199 42.2 7-1 44 0.82 1.06

A consistent two-way performer for one of the best teams in the WIAA, Abrahamson was essential on the mound for Hudson, throwing 42.2 much-needed innings with a sparkling 0.82 ERA and a WHIP right around 1.00. The St. Thomas (MN) commit was every bit as valuable elsewhere, providing reliable middle-infield defense at second base with just two errors on the year, while collecting 16 extra-base hits at the plate. A steady leader who reached the 100-hit and 100-run career milestones this spring, Abrahamson will find a way to contribute at the college level in some way, shape, or form.
