Gulf Coast Summer/Rising Stars ID: Event Preview
June 22, 2026
ORANGE BEACH, AL - The 2026 Summer ID Tour makes its next stop on Tuesday, June 23rd as Prep Baseball Alabama travels to the Orange Beach Sportsplex in Orange Beach, AL for the Gulf Coast Summer ID and Gulf Coast Rising Stars ID. Coming just one week after the Yellowhammer State Games, the event will feature prospects from the 2027-2032 graduating classes as they continue their summer evaluation process and look to put their tools on display in front of the Prep Baseball Alabama staff.
While both events will run simultaneously, participants will be grouped according to their respective event. All players will go through a professional-style workout that includes VALD Performance testing, TrackMan batting practice, defensive evaluations, scouting reports, and video coverage. Summer ID participants will receive Prep Baseball's full technology package and advanced evaluation process, while Rising Stars ID attendees will have the opportunity to benchmark their tools and performance against many of the top young prospects in Alabama's 2030-2032 classes.
Summer represents one of the busiest and most important stretches of the baseball calendar. Players, coaches, and scouts are constantly on the move in search of competition, development, and recruiting opportunities. Prep Baseball's Summer Tour is designed to provide local, affordable opportunities for players of all ages and skill levels to be evaluated by our staff while updating and enhancing their Prep Baseball Profile with verified metrics, video, and scouting reports.
Beyond the data and evaluations, these events also play a significant role in identifying talent for future invite-only events throughout the year. Most notably, all Summer ID and Rising Stars ID events serve as evaluation opportunities for the Prep Baseball Future Games, the premier recruiting event of the summer. Set for July 21-26 at LakePoint Sports in Emerson, GA, the Future Games annually brings together many of the top uncommitted prospects from across the country and remains one of the most heavily attended recruiting events on the national baseball calendar.

Players' body composition will be officially measured using state-of-the-art, medical-grade technology that will provide precise insights into height, weight, skeletal muscle mass, BMI and more. Players will step on scales using bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA), a method for measuring body composition, including muscle mass, body fat, and total body water. Our scales will then produce several metrics giving insight into the prospect’s body composition. Height will be measured using a digital stadiometer to get precise height measurements. Grip Strength Hitters' grip strength will be tested using a digital hydraulic dynamometer. Grip strength is an essential component to bat strength and controlling the barrel. Hitters will be put through a max strength test on both hands, shedding light on hand strength and potential power and bat control down the road. |
