10 New Names to Know
|
Lawson Tyndall C / OF / Eastern Carolina Academy, NC / 2028No stranger to the rankings, Lawson moves back into the Class of 2028 as the body, frame, and play-ability easily match that of some of the top rated players in the state. Very athletic, Tyndall has the ability to be a high end catcher while also spending time in center field. The bat leads the prospect as there are advanced metrics for strength, quickness, and barrel feel present.

Easton Booser SS / 2B / Wake Forest, NC / 2028Rankings StateRank: 42 / POS: 10
Booser was called on this spring to fill in at SS for Kellen Rogers due to a hand injury. He answered the challenge and excelled with his pace of play. The tools are solid but his IQ and game pace, tick up all of his tool grades. A switch-hitter, he has shown solid strength and barrel feel from both sides of the plate. |
|
Hampton Gibbs 3B / RHP / Corinth Holders, NC / 2028Rankings StateRank: 47 / POS: 3
The athletic arm has feel for a good stable of pitches. This spring we laid eyes on him on the bump where the fastball created swing and miss as well as discomfort for opposing hitters. Gibbs is a player that may not be done climbing the rankings as our history on him is light and we may be a bit low on his overall player grade.

Banks Stevenson C / 2B / Charlotte Christian, NC / 2028Rankings StateRank: 54 / POS: 8
The youthful lineup at Charlotte Christian saw Stevenson become a mainstay in the middle of the order, protecting some of the "higher profile" names around him... We say higher profile, but that was at the time. As the Knights made their run to a championship, opposing teams were well aware of the left-handed hitter that seemed to find barrels on any pitch in the zone. The hit tool will carry his prospect and it is a very good tool to lead the way. |
|
KJ Bell RHP / SS / Kings Mountain High, NC / 2028Rankings StateRank: 73 / POS: 13
Lean and athletic down hill, Bell screams projection. There is still some raw feel that should iron out as he continue to grow into his frame, adding strength and weight in the coming years. The arm is positioned to make jumps with added maturity to the frame.

Wesley Tew C / OF / Midway High, NC / 2028Rankings StateRank: 76 / POS: 11
Physical and athletic... As the game has grown, the rosters at the highest level see more bigger, thicker frames that are still elite movers. Tew checks a ton of boxes and the frame translates to bat speed and strength through impact. A two-sport athlete, tew spends his falls on the grid iron. This is intriguing as he continues to mature, knowing he may be able to catch some of his peers in performance as he sees more pitches and more game speed action. |
|
William (Liam) Gordon SS / RHP / Ballantyne Ridge High School, NC / 2028Rankings StateRank: 153 / POS: 32
Gordon impressed in the post-season. Another broad shoulder athlete with strength at impact, there is solid athleticism on the infield with good lateral quickness.

|
Maddox Mosteller 3B / East Burke, NC / 2028Rankings StateRank: 129 / POS: 12
We are a little light on building the full report on Mosteller but our scouting staff in the east raves about his rhythm and ability to get to good pitching. A solid build with looseness present, Mosteller is setup to continue to take jumps in the coming years. |
|
Addison Ashley RHP / OF / East Forsyth High School, NC / 2028Rankings StateRank: 161 / POS: 26
Our staff had two looks at Ashley this spring, both fairly early. The lean frame and easy arm whip created intriguing. The sink / slider potential has him marked as a name to follow. |
|
Farris Carinci SS / 2B / Charlotte Catholic High School, NC / 2028Rankings StateRank: 190 / POS: 38
Carinci cracked a very deep, very talented, and an older lineup at Charlotte Catholic this past spring. The right handed hitter created tough at-bats, showing feel for the barrel throughout the spring, facing high end arms all over his conference slate.
