This is the week of the 16U National Championship, taking place June 25-July 1 at LakePoint in Emerson, Ga., primarily featuring players from the Class of 2028. Well over 2,000 players are headed to LakePoint this weekend, and almost half of them are currently ranked on their home state's Prep Baseball rankings.
Each day, we'll be highlighting the top performances and recapping all the games inside of this Daily Roundup series.

Nixon Jr. finished with two hits and a double; Ryan Castillo and RHP Aidan Bocompani (RI) each added two-hit efforts, with Castillo contributing a double and Jeremy Navarro chipping in one as well. For East Cobb, Coi Sommers sat 77-80 (T81) over four innings, generating eight whiffs against three strikeouts, while 1B Kelby Barnett (No. 115 state) went 2-for-the-day alongside doubles from Bryce Carter and C James Hankins (GA).

**Stars Baseball Victus 2028 10, Dirtbags United 16u 9** Dirtbags United looked to be in the driver's seat early after back-to-back home runs in the first inning staked them to a 4-0 lead, but Stars Baseball Victus 2028 answered with a six-run fifth to turn a 9-4 deficit into a 10-9 lead they wouldn't relinquish. The decisive blow in that rally came from OF Ryan Mendrysa (VA), who roped a two-RBI triple; Mendrysa finished 2-for-the-day with a double as well. OF Carter Jones (VA; No. 56 state), SS Landon Sotosky (VA), 3B Antonio Burke (VA; No. 37 state), and 1B Christian Colina (VA; No. 137 state) each added doubles, while C Zander Amaya (VA) contributed a multi-hit effort. For Dirtbags, RHP AJ Dam (NC) went 2-for-the-day with a two-run homer, OF Landry Kornegay launched a two-run shot of his own in the same first inning, and OF Anderson Watkins (NC) and OF Jacob Jackson each collected a double.

XE9 Scout Team erupted for five runs in the top of the second to turn a 1-0 lead into a commanding 6-0 cushion, and four more in the fourth put the game away at 10-2. The big blow was a grand slam by Alec Cabrera, who finished 2-for-the-day with the homer driving in four, while M. Labbe added an RBI walk in that same decisive frame. Trent Flowers also went 2-for-the-day for XE9, and Carter Semper contributed a double. For Canes Great Lakes 16U Premier, OF Jaxon Miller (IN; No. 215 state) doubled home two runs in the third to account for both Canes tallies, and SS Quinn Knepp (IN; No. 146 state) added a double of his own.

Schultz adding another on a ground-ball double play to close out a 6–5 decision at LakePoint 13. 2B Jack Johnson (FL), C Zachary Rivera (FL), and SS Maxzell Mathis (No. 175 state) each went 2-for-the-day, Johnson and Rivera each adding a double. For MVP New England, RHP Max Minkos (CT) turned heads early — sat 85-87 (T88), striking out four and allowing no hits over two innings — while 3B Nicky Vlastos (No. 92 state) went 2-for-the-day with a double and a solo shot in the first; LHP Luke Morello (CT), Cole Gallagher, and OF Jason DeWitt (CT) each collected two hits as well, Morello and Gallagher each contributing a double.

**Virginia Vols 4, 2028 US Elite Mid Atlantic 3** Tied at one through two innings, Virginia Vols broke it open with a two-run third to seize control and never relinquish the lead. 3B Dylan Eberts (VA; No. 54 state) was the catalyst on both sides of the ball — his RBI single capped the decisive frame and he delivered seven strikeouts and 13 whiffs across three innings on the mound, sitting 83-84 (T85) while navigating five walks. OF Drew Acuto (VA) went 3-for-3 with the other RBI single in that third-inning burst, while OF Jordan O'Brien (VA; No. 63 state) and SS Tucker Utley (VA; No. 118 state) each added multi-hit efforts. For Mid Atlantic, SS Gavin Quigley (MD) and C Kevin Agger (PA) each went 2-for-the-day, and RHP Colin Thomas (PA) supplied a triple in a 2028 group that pushed three across but couldn't get the fourth.

**Top Tier Americans 16U 8, 16U Rangers National Scout 1** Deadlocked at 1 entering the bottom of the fourth, Top Tier Americans 16U erupted for four runs to break the game open and cruised to an 8-1 final at LakePoint 15. On the mound, OF Gavin Helpingstine (IN; No. 67 state) generated six whiffs across 2.2 innings, while SS Matthew Kulig (IN; No. 31 state) was sharper still — sitting 81-83 (T84) with seven whiffs and three strikeouts in a clean inning of work. At the plate, Jacob Hite went 3-for-3 with a triple, SS Maddox Solum (IL) doubled among his two hits, and C Hunter Segal (IN; No. 138 state) delivered two RBI singles in the decisive fourth. For the Rangers, RHP Landon Murr (GA) flashed arm strength sitting 80-80 (T81) with seven whiffs and two strikeouts in his inning, RHP Jackson Martin (GA) doubled among his two hits, and OF Joey Martincavage (GA; No. 146 state) added a multi-hit effort.

SS Brett Paciorek (TN; No. 46 national) set the tone immediately, launching a two-run homer in the first, then delivered the knockout blow in the sixth with a three-RBI triple — A. Potter's two-RBI error extended the carnage further. Paciorek finished 3-for-3 with a double to go with his homer and triple, while SS Parker Tompkins (TN; No. 39 state) added a two-hit, one-double effort. Gage Ayers worked two efficient innings — 3 K, 5 whiffs, sat 75-83 (T84) — to pace the Canes staff. For Kennesaw, RHP Connor Hancock (GA; No. 260 state) battled through 5.1 innings, generating 14 whiffs and striking out five while sitting 80-82 (T83); SS Carter Tucker (GA) gave him some support with a 2-hit effort at the plate.

**Game On Stealth 16U 9, SBA Bolts American 7** Trailing 7-1 entering the fifth, Game On Stealth 16U erupted for eight runs in the top of the frame to seize control and never look back. Asher Evans was the catalyst, a two-double afternoon capped by a three-RBI double in the decisive rally; R. Yates added an RBI single and L. Spence reached on an error that plated another run as the frame snowballed. On the mound, Ashton Arno sat 82-84 (T86) over two innings, generating 10 whiffs to go with three strikeouts. For SBA Bolts American, LHP Luke Hensley (IN; No. 76 national) went 2-for-his-day with a double, 3B Bentley Baird (IN; No. 80 state) added a double, and OF Cole Vanjonack (PA; No. 50 state) posted a two-hit effort.

**Building Champions 16U 8, Power Baseball 2028 Marucci 5** Building Champions 16U seized control with a five-run second inning — erupting from a 1-0 deficit to a 5-1 lead they would never relinquish — before adding three more in the sixth to close it out. The big frame was built on singles: Q. Echols drove in two, OF Chase Brookings plated one, and 2B Brayden Cisneros (MO) added another to do the bulk of the damage. Brookings finished 3-for-the-day with two doubles, Cisneros went 2-for with a double, and 3B Krue Patrick (MO; No. 91 national) also went 2-for to keep the lineup humming. No pitching data was available. For Power Baseball 2028 Marucci, the club scratched across four runs in the second and one in the third but couldn't sustain the pressure.

**Top Tier Roos GA Navy 11, Philadelphia Area Baseball 16U 3** Knotted at 2 through four frames, Top Tier Roos GA Navy erupted for seven runs in the top of the fifth to break things open at Calhoun HS. The decisive blow came when Kiewert singled to plate two and R. Lee followed with another two-RBI single, the Roos ultimately walking away with the 11-3 final. The offensive foundation was laid in the first by 2B Beau Day (GA; No. 301 state), who homered — one of his two hits, which also included a double — while 1B Nate Simmons (TN; No. 58 state) and 3B Rylan Holloway (GA; No. 336 state) each added doubles. For Philadelphia Area Baseball 16U, LHP Carter Zetusky (NJ; No. 99 state), OF Jack Sczechowicz (NJ), and RHP Nikhil McCormick (PA) each went 2-for-the-day, with 2B Lino Tete chipping in a double.

**Titans National 2028 1, Stampede Baseball Club 0** A solo shot in the top of the second was all Titans National 2028 needed, as **1B Cooper Harmon (IN; No. 66 state)** went deep to supply the game's only run and **LHP Nathan Condo (IN)** made it hold up over 5.1 innings, striking out five, walking two, and generating eight whiffs against two hits. **C Nolan Hosack (IN)** added a triple to give the Titans their only other extra-base threat. For Stampede, **OF Connor Landers (NC)** worked 3.2 innings with four strikeouts and four whiffs before giving way to **RHP Cooper Morris (NC)**, who sat 84-86 (T87) and punched out four more batters across two frames, generating six whiffs — a bullpen arm worth tracking.

East Cobb Astros Southeast DS 11, South Oakland A's (Flores) 5 East Cobb broke the game open with a seven-run second inning, turning a 2-1 lead into a 9-1 cushion and effectively ending the contest before the third. Carter Richardson got the frame started with a two-RBI single, #12 Willis followed with a two-RBI double to score Agee and Richardson, and #4 Blanke added an RBI single to plate Winkles as East Cobb sent a parade to the plate. Willis and Winkles each finished 2-for-4 with a double, while Truett Austin added a double of his own. For South Oakland, Ryan Pouttu sat 78-81 (T82) and flashed a plus whiff rate — 10 whiffs and five punchouts in 1.2 innings — though five walks kept the damage coming; OF Collin Short (OH; No. 156 state) provided a double in a losing effort.

**Bell Ringers 2028 2, RBC National 6** RBC National buried the Bell Ringers early, plating four runs in the bottom of the first to seize control and never look back. 2B Brady Hutchison (MO) got the party started with an RBI double, RHP Ryan Maloney (MO; No. 31 state) added an RBI single in the same frame, and a Calcaterra pop-out squeezed in another run as RBC built a lead it would carry the distance. Hutchison then backed his two-way day on the mound, working 5.2 innings with six strikeouts and 11 whiffs against only two walks and four hits allowed. Maloney finished with two hits and a double. For Bell Ringers 2028, OF Charlie Kennedy (PA) provided the lone extra-base knock, doubling in what became a quiet offensive afternoon.

**Bo Jackson Elite – Zalewski 10, 16u USA Scout National Navy 8** Bo Jackson Elite – Zalewski erupted for six runs in the top of the third to seize control, then needed a four-run sixth to hold off a furious Navy comeback and survive 10-8. The third-inning burst was keyed by L. Fry singling in two runs, P. Woods adding an RBI single, and SS Boston Bookmiller (OH; No. 44 state) plating another with a base knock; Bookmiller finished 2-for-the-day, while OF Sebastian Ohanian chipped in a double. For 16u USA Scout National Navy, 3B Dylan Catherwood (GA; No. 207 state) went 2-for-, OF Sutton Johnston (GA) tripled, and 2B Cooper Chupp (GA; No. 97 state), Jacob Ward, and Max Taylor each added doubles as Navy scratched back to within 6-8 before Bo Jackson's sixth sealed it.

OF Eli Overholt (IN) delivered the blow that broke it open — a three-RBI double — while OF James Groepper (IN) followed with a two-RBI single to cap the frame; C Nyles Fish added a multi-hit, two-bag effort to pace the offense. For Blue Ridge Elite 2028, 3B Talan Morris (VA) was the most evaluable arm on the field, generating eight whiffs over four innings with four strikeouts and just one walk; C Austin Staton (VA) went 3-for-the-day to lead a balanced attack that also featured multi-hit games from OF Noah Estes (a double included), OF Kase Kirkeide, RHP Tyler Atkins, and Miller, with Z. King's two-RBI single providing the highlight on the offensive side.

**Performance National 16u 8, MAD Mavericks National 16U 7** Knotted at three heading to the bottom of the fourth, Performance National 16u erupted for four runs to seize control and never relinquished the lead, surviving a MAD Mavericks rally that pulled even at seven before Performance walked away with an 8-7 decision at LakePoint 10. E. Roschke delivered the decisive blow with a two-RBI single, and Bryson Summely — who finished 2-for-4 — added an RBI single in the same frame; a C. Holland walk kept the line moving. Performance got additional production from Puckett Hudson (2-for-3, double) and Brooks Jones (triple), while Jahmeer Damon chipped in a double. For MAD Mavericks, Alex Byrd provided the offensive highlight with a double in a game the Mavs will want back.

**East Cobb Astros 15U 1, Stars Baseball Marucci 2028 11 — LakePoint 11** Stars Baseball Marucci 2028 broke the game open with a six-run third inning, turning a 4-1 lead into a commanding 10-1 advantage and never looking back. 3B Ryan Bahr (VA; No. 226 national) set the tone early with a three-run homer in the first, and the third-inning eruption was fueled by C Jack Arft (VA; No. 35 state), whose two-RBI single was the key blow, with 3B Brayden Cronin (VA; No. 41 state) adding an RBI walk to extend the frame; both Cronin and Arft finished with two hits apiece, as did C James Bacher (VA; No. 31 state). Cincy Legends National 16U 8, Legacy Baseball 2028 Team 6 Cincy Legends National 16U broke the game open with a five-run bottom of the first, building a lead that Legacy couldn't fully erase in a back-and-forth early game that settled at 8-6 after three innings of scoring. The Legends got the big blows early: 1B Rylan Osterberger (OH) singled home two runs, 3B Drew Baumann (OH) added an RBI single, and J. Ryan plated another on a fielder's choice to stake Cincy to a commanding cushion. Osterberger and Baumann each finished with two hits to pace the Legends' offense. For Legacy, OF Lane Pyles (NC), OF Parker Guevara (SC), and OF Wyatt Gilmore (SC) each went 1-for-the-day with a double, giving the 2028 club three extra-base knocks to watch as that class develops.

**Texas Twelve 16u 2, RCS Warpath Gold 3** RCS Warpath Gold seized control with a two-run third inning — built around a walk to A. Brokenshire — and made it stand in a 3-2 decision over Texas Twelve. On the mound, OF Landon Trout (PA; No. 47 state) opened with two hitless innings, sitting 80-83 (T84) and generating three whiffs across two strikeouts, before 1B Peyton Schley (PA) matched that same 80-83 (T84) band and added five whiffs of his own over the next two frames. OF Teague Stahovic (PA) supplied the game's only extra-base knock for Warpath with a triple. For Texas Twelve, RHP Ryan Davidson (TX) provided the offense's best moment, doubling home a run in the fourth to make it a one-run game, but the comeback stalled there.

LHP Cade Barford (VA) set the tone early, working 3.2 innings with 7 strikeouts, zero walks, and 15 whiffs while sitting 77-79 (T81); RHP Charles Castellanos (VA) closed it out with 3.0 hitless frames and four more punchouts. At the plate, C Lucas Howlett (VA) delivered the decisive blow — a two-RBI triple in the fifth — and finished 2-for-2 with a triple. LHP Blake Cushman (VA; No. 27 state) supplied the insurance with a three-run homer in the sixth, and Hines added a solo shot in the fourth. For Factory SELECT, OF Jace Grogan (GA; No. 167 state) went 2-for-3 and was one of the few bright spots in an offense that managed just one run across seven innings.

OF JonParker Peel (TX) was the story on the mound for Marucci, racking up 6 strikeouts and 18 whiffs over four innings while SS Trystan Cook (TX) (double, two hits) and 1B Tate Erb (TX) (double) led the offense. For Show NE, Owen Flanagan sat 78-80 (T81) and generated 17 whiffs with 4 punch-outs across 3.1 frames, backed by a balanced attack from Ryan Bowdridge (double, two hits), Connor Gryniewicz, Miles O'Neil, and Glass — each with multiple knocks.

Service Baseball – DEV GRU broke the game open with a six-run first inning and never looked back, handing Northeast Pride '28 National a 6-4 defeat at LakePoint 16. L. Hilton keyed the decisive frame with a two-RBI single, and B. Grant and T. Wirtanen each added RBI singles of their own as Service DEV GRU sent a parade of runners across to build a lead Northeast couldn't overcome. Northeast Pride mounted a late charge — pulling within two by the sixth — but ran out of innings. For Northeast Pride, SS Chase Jervis (NY; No. 39 state) was the offensive bright spot, going 2-for-the-day with a pair of singles to lead the lineup.

Diamond Jacks broke the game open with a two-run third, then tacked on single runs in the fourth, fifth, and sixth to complete a 5-0 blanking of Hit Dogs Illinois 16u Busch at LakePoint 9. **RHP Stephen Verdolini (PA)** set the tone early, sitting 86-87 (T88) while generating seven whiffs over 1.2 innings — three strikeouts against zero walks on just one hit allowed. At the plate, **3B Brogan Perreault (No. 41 state)** went 2-for-the-day with a double, **OF Connor Bresler (NJ; No. 151 national)** laced the key blow of the decisive third — an RBI double that opened the scoring — and **3B Owen Rivenbark (NJ; No. 53 state)** added a two-hit effort to keep the Diamond Jacks offense clicking all afternoon. Bean went 2-for-the-day to pace the Lightning offense, while SS Ryan Dunham (GA; No. 100 state) added a double. For Ghost National, RHP Anthony Dufour (No. 105 state) collected a double, and #21 Chimicles delivered the Ghost run with a first-inning RBI single that plated #14 Noble, A.

Dirtbags All Blacks 16U erupted for six in the top of the third to build a 6-2 lead, only to watch US Nats Scout KC storm back and knot things at 7-7 — a tie that held through seven innings at Calhoun HS. The decisive blow in that third-inning outburst belonged to 1B Aidan Gamble (PA; No. 30 state), who crushed a three-run home run; Q. Barron and C. Stiscak each drew run-scoring walks in the same frame. US Nats Scout KC answered emphatically in the fifth, pulling even and eventually taking a 7-6 edge before Dirtbags knotted it in the sixth. For KC, OF Gavin Flessner went 3-for-the-day with a triple and a double, OF Owen Gutierrez (MO) posted two hits including a pair of doubles, and C Brady Meyer (MO; No. 32 state) added a double as well.

Smartense had no answer defensively or offensively, managing just four hits and never threatening the shutout.

C Wes Thompson (IL; No. 84 state) added a double, and Castleman finished 2-for-the-day to round out a complete team effort from the Illinois contingent.
