Quick Hits: 2026 Underclass Top Prospect Games (Pitchers)

Alex Armand
Louisiana Scouting Director

Lafayette, LA - On Tuesday, June 23, 2026, the Prep Baseball Louisiana staff traveled to the University of Louisiana-Lafayette, to host our Underclass Top Prospect Games, which featured over 100 players in the state's 2028 & 2029 classes.  Each participant went through a pro-style workout that consisted of running a laser-timed 60-yard dash with VALD Performance, defensive evaluations, and batting practice using Trackman Baseball and Blast Motion.  Each pitcher threw live in game with Trackman Baseball running to receive all of their pitching data and metrics.  Below, we take a look at some of the pitching prospects that caught our eye on Tuesday.

+ 2028 LHP Logan Maricle (Grace Christian)

Long and projectable 6-foot-3, 190-pound frame with plenty of room for additional strength as he continues to mature. Maricle was one of the biggest winners from the Underclass Top Prospect Games, showing a fluid arm action and athletic operation down the mound that allowed him to consistently get into advantageous positions at release. The proven winner and performer backed up his stellar spring campaign, where he punched out an eye-popping 190 hitters across 90 innings, with an 88-91 mph fastball that played up thanks to 7.1 feet of extension, while also showing feel for both a 74-76 mph breaking ball and an 82 mph changeup.
Long and highly projectable 6-foot-5, 170-pound frame with plenty of room to add strength as he continues to mature physically. Albert turned in a quick and efficient outing at the Underclass Top Prospect Games, showing the ability to command his 88-91 mph fastball to all four quadrants of the strike zone while consistently working ahead of hitters. His 74-78 mph slider continues to trend in the right direction and the splitter gives him another quality secondary offering with late tumble. Albert attacks the strike zone, competes with confidence, and looks the part of another intriguing arm to follow in Louisiana's 2028 class.
Athletic 6-foot, 170-pound frame with a lean build and room for continued physical development. Kantrow turned in one of the better outings of Game 2 at the Underclass Top Prospect Games, attacking hitters with confidence and consistently getting ahead in counts. His fastball generated plenty of swing-and-miss with impressive life and spin rates in the 2,500+ RPM range, while his 75-77 mph breaking ball continued to show improvement and projects as another quality offering in his arsenal. Kantrow's aggressive mentality and ability to miss bats make him an intriguing follow in Louisiana's 2028 class.
Projectable 6-foot-2, 175-pound frame with a lean, athletic build and plenty of room for additional strength in the coming years. Rouse impressed at the Underclass Top Prospect Games with a clean arm action and easy, athletic operation down the mound that allowed him to run his fastball up to 91 mph. While his control was ahead of his command on the day, he showed the ability to make quality pitches in key situations and compete through traffic. He rounded out his arsenal with a curveball, slider, and changeup, giving him a four-pitch mix that points to considerable upside moving forward and makes him an arm to know out of the New Orleans area.
Physical and durable 6-foot-3, 220-pound frame with present strength throughout. Holubec showed an intriguing look at the Underclass Top Prospect Games, working from a lower slot that created tough angles and plenty of movement on his fastball. His 87-89 mph two-seamer featured heavy arm-side sink and run, generating uncomfortable at-bats and projecting as a pitch that will induce plenty of weak contact. The 75-76 mph slider flashed as a quality secondary offering at times and he also mixed in an 82 mph changeup to round out his arsenal.
Projectable 6-foot-2 frame with plenty of upside remaining as he continues to develop physically. Pecoraro showed a compact and quick arm action at the Underclass Top Prospect Games and created a steep downhill angle that made for uncomfortable at-bats against opposing hitters. His 88-91 mph fastball showed solid riding life with occasional cut action, while he also mixed in a 73-75 mph curveball and an 82 mph changeup to give hitters multiple looks. With his arm speed, pitch traits, and ability to create angle, Pecoraro looks like another promising young arm coming through the pipeline for Brother Martin.
Athletic and durable 6-foot-2, 180-pound frame with a polished look on the mound. Wascom continues to impress with his ability to pitch, working from a lower release height that creates a unique look and allows his fastball to play up throughout the strike zone. He showed the ability to locate his 85-87 mph fastball to both sides of the plate and elevate it above the zone for swings and misses, while his 73-75 mph slider flashed big sweep and his improving changeup gave him another reliable weapon against opposite-handed hitters. The poise, pitchability, and competitiveness all stand out, which is no surprise considering the success he enjoyed in several big games for Catholic-BR during the spring.
Lean and athletic 6-foot-1, 165-pound frame with plenty of room to continue adding strength in the years ahead. Kellum showed an advanced feel for pitching at the Underclass Top Prospect Games, repeating an athletic delivery and pairing it with a quick, efficient arm action that allowed him to consistently fill the strike zone. His 87-89 mph fastball played well off a breaking ball that he showed the ability to manipulate for different shapes and actions, while his splitter stood out as another quality offering that he confidently landed against both right-handed and left-handed hitters. The athleticism, pitchability, and feel for multiple offerings make Kellum an intriguing follow in Louisiana's 2028 class.
Strong and athletic 6-foot, 180-pound frame with a mature build for his age. Sweat turned in an impressive look at the Underclass Top Prospect Games, showing an easy and repeatable delivery along with a compact, clean arm action that allowed him to efficiently navigate his inning of work while surrendering just one hit. His 84-87 mph fastball played well, but it was the breaking ball that separated him on the day, as he consistently landed it for strikes and generated swing-and-miss when he needed it most. The young southpaw continues to trend upward and looks like another promising arm coming through the pipeline at Barbe.
Athletic 6-foot, 185-pound frame with a sturdy build and a polished look on the mound. Shane showed an advanced feel for pitching at the Underclass Top Prospect Games, repeating a simple and efficient delivery while working from a lower release height with a short, compact arm action. A true strike-thrower, he consistently commanded his 86-88 mph fastball to both sides of the plate and showed the ability to land both his slider and changeup for strikes in any count. The pitchability, command, and ability to mix three offerings make Shane an intriguing arm to follow in Louisiana's 2028 class.
Athletic 6-foot, 185-pound frame with present strength and arm speed. Bricker put together an impressive look at the Underclass Top Prospect Games, showing a fast and lively arm along with the ability to create nearly seven feet of extension and finish aggressively out front. His 85-88 mph fastball played up because of the extension and carry through the zone, while he also showed advanced feel for spin with a bigger, top-to-bottom breaking ball that generated spin rates approaching 3,000 RPM. The arm talent and ability to spin the baseball make Bricker an intriguing follow in Louisiana's 2028 class.
Strong and athletic 6-foot-1, 190-pound frame with a mature build and plenty of present strength. Davis opened Game 3 of the Underclass Top Prospect Games with an efficient, scoreless inning of work, consistently flooding the strike zone and staying on the attack from the first pitch. He showed a compact and quick arm action from a high three-quarter slot, allowing him to get ahead with an 87-90 mph fastball before effectively mixing in his 77-78 mph breaking ball for strikes. The combination of arm strength, strike-throwing ability, and mound presence makes Davis another intriguing young arm to follow in Louisiana's 2029 class.
