STATE RANKINGS RISERS (2028 CLASS)

Eli Clark SS / OF / St. Thomas More, LA / 2028Rankings StateRank: 7 / POS: 1
Clark put together an impressive sophomore campaign for the Cougars and is one of the biggest beneficiaries of this rankings update, vaulting into the state's Top 10. The athletic 6-foot-1, 185-pound prospect boasts a strong lower half that helps drive his performance on both sides of the game. At the plate, Clark hit .351 while collecting 13 extra-base hits, driving in 26 runs, and scoring 41 more. His combination of athleticism, physicality, and offensive production makes him one of the more intriguing position players in Louisiana's 2028 class heading into the summer.

Logan Maricle LHP / 1B / Grace Christian School, LA / 2028Rankings StateRank: 17 / POS: 2
Maricle continues to climb the rankings after putting together one of the most dominant pitching seasons in the state this spring for Grace Christian. The projectable 6-foot-3, 190-pound sophomore southpaw was nearly untouchable, finishing a perfect 12-0 with a microscopic 0.24 ERA while piling up an astounding 190 strikeouts across 90 innings pitched. His remarkable season was highlighted by a school-record 20-strikeout performance against Ouachita, a testament to both his stuff and ability to miss bats at an elite rate. With his combination of size, projection, and overwhelming production, Maricle has firmly established himself as one of the premier arms in Louisiana's 2028 class.

Krash Menard C / 2B / Vandebilt Catholic, LA / 2028Rankings StateRank: 10 / POS: 1
Despite standing just 5-foot-8 and 155 pounds, Menard packs plenty of punch and proved to be the spark plug at the top of the Terriers' lineup all spring. The dynamic sophomore put together an outstanding season, hitting .438 with 4 home runs, 10 doubles, 4 triples, 34 RBIs, and an impressive 62 runs scored. What stands out most, however, is his advanced approach at the plate. Menard drew 24 walks while striking out only six times all season, a remarkable testament to his pitch recognition, discipline, and feel for hitting. His ability to consistently get on base and create scoring opportunities made him one of the catalysts behind the Terriers' offensive success.

Greyson Rodrigue RHP / 3B / LSU Laboratory, LA / 2028Rankings StateRank: 24 / POS: 9
Rodrigue possesses a long, projectable 6-foot-3, 185-pound frame and put together a strong sophomore campaign, particularly down the stretch when the Cubs needed him most. The right-hander finished the season with a 2-0 record, one save, and an impressive 1.07 ERA across 19.2 innings pitched. He features a clean, repeatable arm action that allows him to work comfortably in the mid-to-upper 80s with his fastball, and he has also shown a natural feel for spinning the baseball. With his combination of size, athleticism, and developing arsenal, Rodrigue has plenty of upside and is trending in the right direction as he continues to mature.

Bryce Kellum RHP / SS / Pearl River, LA / 2028Rankings StateRank: 28 / POS: 12
Kellum was one of the biggest winners from our first summer event and has established himself as a name to know in Louisiana’s 2028 class. The 6-foot-1, 165-pound right-hander possesses a lean, athletic frame with plenty of room to add strength over the coming years. He works with a quick, loose arm action and shows an advanced ability to create extension down the mound, allowing his stuff to play up out of the hand. The sophomore's fastball sits 87-90 mph, but his slider is arguably his most impressive secondary offering, coming in at 74-76 mph with spin rates ranging from 2,382-2,510 RPM. The combination of present velocity, athleticism, arm speed, and advanced feel for spin makes him one of the more intriguing young arms in the state, and a prospect whose stock is trending sharply upward heading into the summer circuit.
