NOTABLE RECAPS FROM SATURDAY
2A State Championship Game 🏆
#4 San Juan (6) vs #2 Kanab (13)
The Kanab Cowboys reached the mountaintop of 2A baseball, capturing the state championship with a powerhouse 13–6 victory over the San Juan Broncos. While the Cowboys entered the tournament as the #2 overall seed, they were met in the finale by a resilient #4 seed San Juan squad that had fought their way through the grueling loser’s bracket to force a championship showdown Saturday afternoon. The Cowboys leaned on the gritty performance of Brady Ramsay, who displayed incredible toughness by navigating a 108-pitch complete game to silence the Broncos' bats and late-inning threats. Kanab's offensive attack was equally relentless, sparked by a trio of monster performances: Grady Anderson was perfect at the plate with four hits and four RBIs, while Kanon Virostko and Latimer Glover both launched towering home runs to clear the bases. Despite several sparks from San Juan's Kreed Herring and Nash Young, the Cowboys’ balanced assault proved too much to overcome, securing the state trophy for Kanab in a definitive team performance. This team is loaded and has exciting young talent up and down the roster, count on the Cowboys to be a problem for opposing teams over the next couple years!
