Tallahassee Summer ID/Rising Stars ID: Quick Hits

The Tallahassee Summer ID/Rising Stars ID took place Tuesday, May 26, at Tallahassee State College in Tallahassee, FL. The event featured players from the 2027-2031 classes participating in a pro-style workout followed by bullpens in front of the Prep Baseball Florida Scouting Staff.
Today, we will share quick notes on the standouts from Tuesday’s event.

CATCHING STANDOUTS
The catcher group at the Tallahassee Summer ID was filled with talent. Three catchers had sub-2.00 pops. 2028 Jerrett Vaughan led the group with a 1.91 pop, followed by 2028 Clayton Gerrell’s 1.92 pop. 2029 Parker Gibson had a 1.96 pop, leading the event with a top catcher velo of 82 mph.

POWER BATS
The power bats were plentiful in Tallahassee, as six different hitters registered a max exit velocity over 97 mph. 2028 Landon Phillips led the way with an exit velo of 98.5 mph, showing power to the pull side. Next was 2029 Hudson Mills at 97.8 and 2028 Evan Snyder at 97.7. 2027 Peyton Norwood led the group with a top distance of 378 feet, adding on an exit velo of 97.5 mph.

ATHLETES
2028 Kyle Estimond, 2028 Lake Dixon, and 2027 Peyton Norwood all showed above-average athleticism at the Tallahassee Summer ID. Estimond led the group with a jump height of 29.9 inches, also recording the third fastest 60-yard dash (6.83 seconds). Dixon had the fastest 60-yard time at 6.68 seconds, as well as a 26.2-inch vertical jump. Norwood ran a 6.85 60-yard dash and jumped 27.6 inches.

DEFENSIVE STANDOUTS
2029 Parker Gibson was excellent defensively, leading the infielders with a max velocity of 88 mph, as well as the catchers at 82 mph. He showed range in the infield, with accurate and quick throws to first base. 2028 Evan Snyder showed off a consistent arm in the outfield, with all four throws 83 mph or higher.

PITCHERS
2027 Jack Koon impressed with a three-pitch mix, including a lively fastball up to 90 mph.. 2027 Michael Rice led the event with a max fastball velocity of 91.5 mph, also featuring a sinker, slider, and changeup. 2027 Ryder Miller got up to 86.9 mph. 2028 Collin Campbell had a quick arm up to 87.2 mph.

RISING STARS
The Tallahassee ID saw a talented group of Rising Stars in the 2030 and 2031 classes in attendance. 2030 Colton Romeo led the Rising Stars group with an 87.4 mph exit velocity. 2030 Brayden Riley is physically advanced and showed off future power potential with an 85.8 mph exit velocity. 2031 AJ Henry had impressive BP rounds with a smooth left-handed swing and quality contact. 2030 Cameron Johnson displayed athleticism in the outfield.
