Road to LakePoint: Previewing Team NC and Team Carolina for the Future Games

The most anticipated week on the amateur baseball calendar is nearly here. From July 21–26, the nation’s premier uncommitted talent will converge on the state-of-the-art complexes at LakePoint Sports in Emerson, Georgia, for the annual Prep Baseball Future Games and Senior Future Games.

With over 450 college coaches and scouts expected to line the backstops, the stage is set for a defining moment in these young athletes' recruiting journeys. Every single player in attendance shares two things in common: they are entirely uncommitted, and they represent the absolute elite of their respective classes.

This year, the Old North State is sending a powerhouse contingent down south. For the Future Games (2028 grads), Team NC will take the field looking to showcase the depth of homegrown talent. For the Senior Future Games (2027 grads), North Carolina will join forces with our neighbors to the south to form a loaded Team Carolina roster.

Both squads will jump straight into the fire, starting with a grueling pro-style workout to flash their tools, followed by a highly competitive three-game guarantee against the best uncommitted rosters in the country.

To get you ready for the action, we are breaking down our rosters by primary position groups over the coming days. From explosive arms on the mound to dynamic bats and elite defenders, here is your comprehensive preview of the North Carolina prospects set to turn heads at LakePoint.

Future Games Preview: Power on the Mound

Pitching is the name of the game, and the arms representing North Carolina at LakePoint Sports are bringing elite heat. As we continue our positional previews for the Prep Baseball Future Games (July 22-25), we turn our attention to the bump to highlight a deep and explosive group of right-handed pitchers.

Whether they are towering, physical presences overpowering hitters with high-spin fastballs, or athletic arms utilizing sharp, swing-and-miss secondary pitches, this uncommitted group is built to dominate. Here is a look at the righties ready to light up the radar guns in front of the 450+ college coaches in attendance.

Team NC (Future Games - 2028 Grads)

Chase White - RHP

  • High School: South Central HS
  • Scouting Report: A dynamic athlete on the mound, White possesses a fastball that has been clocked into the low-90s with explosive ride and carry. Utilizing a broad-shouldered, athletic build, he pairs his premium heater with a tight-spinning, 12/6 curveball that drops off the table. He is a high-ceiling power arm to watch.

Gavin Whitley - RHP

  • High School: DH Conley HS
  • Scouting Report: Whitley brings a highly physical, 6'2", 200-pound frame to the bump. He throws a heavy fastball that touches 90 mph with late life, and he features a put-away slider that generates heavy swing-and-miss. His arm speed and rhythmic delivery make him an imposing presence.

Duncan Carver - RHP

  • High School: AC Reynolds HS
  • Scouting Report: Carver is a highly projectable 6'3" righty with excellent extension and a loose, clean arm path. Sitting in the upper-80s, his fastball plays up out of his hand, and he flashes a sharp breaking ball with great shape. He commands the zone well and has massive upside as he continues to fill out his frame. Dual sport athlete that may be just scratching the surface of his potential.

Parker Williams - RHP

  • High School: North Lincoln HS
  • Scouting Report: Williams features a polished, repeatable delivery and attacks hitters with a heavy sinker/slider combination. He shows advanced feel for creating natural arm-side run and is not afraid to pitch inside, effectively inducing weak, ground-ball contact early in counts.

Mikey Papciak - RHP

  • High School: Wesleyan Christian Academy
  • Scouting Report: A high-motor, aggressive arm, Papciack comes right after hitters. He boasts a firm, riding fastball and snaps off a late-biting curveball that plays well off his heater. His quick tempo and competitive edge make him a tough matchup for any lineup. High level mover that suggests there is more coming in his future.

Brax Thompson - RHP

  • High School: Providence HS
  • Scouting Report: Thompson is a premier athlete on the mound who moves exceptionally well down the slope. He hides the ball effectively, creating deception before firing a fast, lively arm. With a developing three-pitch mix, he projects as a premium starter at the next level.

Corbin Kendrick - RHP (Throwing for Team Hawaii)

  • High School: JH Rose HS
  • Scouting Report: Kendrick is an intriguing arm making the trip to represent Team Hawaii. He features a loose, strong arm action and gets great downhill leverage. His fastball has distinct late jump, and he has shown a great feel for spinning the baseball to put hitters away.

Ryder Anderson - RHP (Throwing for Team Hawaii)

  • High School: DH Conley HS
  • Scouting Report: Joining Kendrick on Team Hawaii, Anderson is a strike-thrower with maturity beyond his years. He commands the zone with a solid three-pitch repertoire, excelling at tunneling his fastball and changeup to keep hitters off balance and guessing.

Team Carolina (Sr. Future Games - 2027 Grads)

Kameron Keenan - RHP

  • High School: North Buncombe HS
  • Scouting Report: Standing at an imposing 6'7" and 215 pounds, Keenan is a looming presence on the rubber. He uses his long levers to generate extreme downhill plane, running his fastball up into the low-90s. He creates uncomfortable at-bats for right-handed hitters and possesses the raw size and velocity that college pitching coaches dream of.

Brennan McKenna - RHP

  • High School: Holly Springs HS
  • Scouting Report: Sits comfortably in the upper-80’s touching the low 90s throughout the late spring and summer season. Missed some time on the mound in 2025 but has announced his presence with big performances on big stages. McKenna will be an arm to see at LakePoint.

Jesse May - RHP

  • High School: Riverside HS
  • Scouting Report: May brings smooth rhythm and clean arm stroke. He shows a feel for moving the fastball around the zone. With a lean build and long limbs, there is a ton of projection left while still possessing stuff that creates bad at-bats in the present.

Caleb Case - RHP

  • High School: DH Conley HS
  • Scouting Report: Case generates advanced arm speed from a deceptive delivery, making it incredibly tough for hitters to pick up the ball out of his hand. He features a riding fastball at the top of the zone and pairs it with a sharp, vertical breaking ball that he can land for strikes or bury for whiffs.
