PBT Rock 15U Summer Championship: Takeaways


Wisconsin Scouting Staff

This past weekend, our staff hosted the 15U Rock Summer Championships at The Rock in Franklin, WI. This event continued our summer tournament circuit from a scouting standout, with numerous players showing well for themselves throughout the weekend.

Today, we are taking a look at some of the weekend's standouts with this takeaways piece, below. 

5 Star Wisconsin 15U

+ OF/LHP Spencer Bromm (Fox Valley Lutheran, 2028)
Lean, wiry 6-foot-1, 160-pound frame with room to add strength. Bromm started on the mound for 5 Star Wisconsin and showcased some intriguing tools offensively. At the plate, the left-handed hitter displayed a short, handsy path with a middle/pull-side approach.  The left-hander lived on the barrel during Thursday’s pool play game, going 2-for-3 at the plate with two hard hit-doubles into center field and right fielder. 

AHQ 2029 - Deshazer

+ RHP/3B Izzy Akins (Hampshire, 2029)
6-foot-1, 152 pounds. Long levered, lean frame. Loose, easy delivery. Showed three pitches. Fastball topped 78 mph, sat 76-77 mph. Slider topped 71 mph, sat 68-70 mph. Changeup topped 75 mph, sat 73-74 mph. 

+ 1B/OF Jack Wieczorek (Jacobs, 2029)
Strong, twitchy athlete with plenty of physicality to the frame. Present bat speed and feel for the barrel. Line-drive approach with a strong frontside and a no-stride load that explodes into launch. Hit the ball hard all weekend. Name to note in Illinois.

+ 2B/RHP Dylan Ryan (Jacobs, 2029)
5-foot-8, 140-pound frame with fast hands, barrel that stays in the zone and a line-drive approach; Quality defender at second as well.

Athletes HQ

+ OF Will Berndt (Geneva, 2029)
Trim 5-foot-9, 149-pound with plenty of room to add on strength. Berndt batted in the leadoff role and started in left field for AHQ-Koziol in Thursday’s 9-1 win. At the plate, the left-handed hitter showcased a loose, repeatable swing that created extension through the zone. The left-hander was all over the barrel in the game, going on to finish 2-for-2 on the day with two singles, an RBI, a walk, and a hit by pitch. 

+ C/3B Lucas Huyser  (St. Charles East, 2029)
Strong, sturdy 6-foot-4, 225-pound frame. Huyser got the start behind the dish and batted in the six-hole for AHQ- Koziol in Thursday’s 9-1 win. The right-handed hitter possessed some jump off the barrel in the win, launching a deep shot to center field for an RBI double. He showed a strong feel for the strike zone later in the week as well, working three walks in all three of his at-bats on Sunday.

Big Time Baseball - U15 Navy

+ RHP Grayson Sanfilippo (Heritage Christian Schools, 2029)
6-foot-1, 215-pound frame. Got the start on the mound. Showed a mix of pitches, including a fastball that sat 74-76 mph, a slider at 66 mph, and a splitter with depth. Went four innings, gave up two runs while striking out four.

Canes Illinois 15u National

+ 1B Ryan Anderson (Naperville, 2029)
5-foot-9, 160-pound mature body that supports an aggressive bat. Anderson launched two doubles to deep center. These doubles are a product of a quick, compact swing driven by his lower half.

+ OF/RHP Evan Holthouse (Lake Zurich, 2029)
Athletic right handed swing with a small leg lift with hands loaded back with a line-drive approach. On the barrel all weekend. Defensively showed range in the outfield and an arm that made strong throws from the outfield. Projectable athlete that is a name to follow in Illinois

Canes KY Premier 15U

+ SS/OF Jaxson Pierce (Barren County, 2029) 
Standing in at 5-foot-10 180-pounds and ranked No. 15 in Kentucky. Pierce sports a well-built, strong base and upper body. Pierce stands in on the right side, has an even, stationary stance, bat on shoulder. Short, quick, level bat-path, low two-hand finish. Collected eight hits on the weekend, including four doubles and two triples. Defensively, ranges from side-to-side, with a strong, fluid arm.  

+ OF/RHP Lucas Young (Boyle County, 2029) 
6-foot-1, 175-pound frame. Defined lower body. Standing in with an athletic stance from the right side, small load, barrel stays long through the zone, patient at the plate. Defensively an outfielder, natural, quick reactions, ability to track, efficient routes, strong, fluid arm. Threw out a runner at second base. On the mound, high 3/4 slot, firm fastball with cut, sits, 78-81 mph, tops 82 mph. Curveball has a sharp, late 11/5 break, sat 67-69 mph. The slider sat 76 mph. 

+ 3B/C/OF Hudson Spoonamore (Boyle County, 2029) 
5-foot-10 175-pound frame, strong lower body, proportional upper body. Open stance, knees slightly bent, hands start high, toe tap load, smooth and natural swing, power to both gaps. 

Cangelosi Sparks North - Black 2029

+ 3B Michael Wente (York, 2029)
Strong 6-foot-2, 166-pound frame with loud barrels all afternoon. Looked the part defensively as well with a strong arm across the infield. 

+ 1B Rocco Stojakovic (Maine South, 2029) 
Strong 6-foot-1, 170-pound frame. The LHH showcased feel for the barrel despite the results on Friday afternoon, collecting one base hit paired with hard-hit outs.

+ 2B Dominic Martinello (York, 2029)
Showed well on both sides of the ball Friday evening. At the plate he barreled up an opposite field triple to drive in two. Looked the part defensively as well with a great diving play showing off his range up the middle to force a double play. A name to look out for in the future as he continues to add on strength. 

+ C Liam Larma (York, 2029) 
6-foot-1, 180-pound right-handed hitter; lived gap to gap this weekend. Starts with a wider stance, showing off his power, bat speed, and ability to impact the baseball. Larma recorded a 2.1 pop time as well, a name to keep an eye out for.

 + RHP Declan Daniels (Evanston, 2029)
6-foot-1, 188-pounds. Lived in the zone, got ahead of counts with his FB. Generated swing and misses with his tight slider sitting 74-75 mph, low delivery with smooth tempo. Fastball sat 76-79, topping at 80 mph. Tossed five shutout innings with fourstrikeouts, allowing three hits.

+ SS/RHP Madden Williams (Glenbrook North, 2029) 
5-foot-9 157-pound frame. Currently ranked No. 17 in the state of Illinois. RHH, calm and slightly open stance, disciplined hitter. Aggressive on the basepaths, times jumps, takes extra bases, messes with pitchers' rhythms. Williams went 4-for-7 on the weekend with five stolen bases.

+ OF/C Alexander Kantzavelos (Sandburg, 2029)
Athletic 5-foot-8, 150-pound build. Short and compact swing that showed feel for the barrel. Athletic defender in the outfield.

+ MIF Jordan Green (Bolingbrook, 2029)
Compact 5-foot-7, 140-pound frame with a strong lower half. Impressed with a loud double this weekend to left field. Athletic mover with more to come as he matures. 

+ MIF Reilly Denz (St Francis, 2029)
Athletic 5-foot-11, 160-pound middle infielder with a fluid RH swing. Hands pre-set loaded into a small step. Separates well into foot plant while barrel whips through the zone. Gap-to-gap approach with feel to pull the ball in the air. More to come as he adds strength to the frame. Also displayed athletic actions in the infield.

+ CIF Abraham Rettich (Tinley Park, 2029)
Strong, athletic mover with a whippy bat that displayed ability to shorten up with two-strikes and find a barrel. No-stride load with hands loaded back into a fluid swing with easy strength in the swing.

Cangelosi Sparks White

+ RHP Drew Mandros (Lockport, 2029)
6-foot-1, 175 pounds. Strong, athletic frame. Started on the mound. Showed three pitches in game. Fastball topped at 76 mph, sat 73-75 mph. CB topped 64 mph, sat 61-63 mph. Changeup topped 70 mph, sat 68-70 mph. 

Elite Baseball Training North 15u Rausch

+ RHP Cole Kalinowski (Libertyville, 2029)
6-foot-2, 175-pound frame with room to fill out. Tall and athletic. Gets down the mound well. Pitched two innings allowing only one hit. Fastball sat 77-79 mph, fills the zone. Pairs well with an effective off-speed. Gets hitters out from both sides of the plate.

+ SS/RHP Donald Krause III (MIlwaukee School of Languages, 2029)
5-foot-8, 140-pound athlete currently ranked No. 25 in Wisconsin’s 2029 class. Uses a toe-tap to create rhythm while hands are synced up at launch with a barrel that gets on plane. Performer with actions in the dirt. Flashy athlete that is a name to know in Wisconsin. 

+ OF Cameron Gonzalez (Greenfield, 2029) 
Showed well at the plate Friday afternoon. Going 3-for-3 with a double and two singles. Quick hands at the plate, showing ability to see spin as well. 

+ RHP/C Dominick Pina (Union Grove, 2029)
5-foot-10, 150 pounds. Lean, athletic frame. Started on the mound and hit seventh in the lineup. On the mound showed two pitches. Fastball topped 80 mph, sat 76-78 mph with occasional arm side run. Curveball topped 68 mph with 12-6 shape. 

GRB Northstar 15u Navy

+ RHP Sam Van Epern (Robbinsdale Armstrong, 2029)
Strong 6-foot-1, 177-pound frame. Utilized a controlled, rhythmic windup. Had a workable four-pitch mix, including a fastball with ride that sat 79-81 mph, topped 83. Also had a tight 69 mph slider, 65-68 mph curveball, and a changeup. He fanned six batters over 5.2 innings, finishing the outing with two earned runs.

GRB Rays 15U Green Bauer

+ RHP Brady Seim  (Sun Prairie, 2029)
Ranked No. 19 in Wisconsin’s 2029 class. Lanky 6-foot-3, 172-pound frame. The right-hander impressed in his start, striking out six during 4.1 innings of work. Controlled leg lift, long, whippy ¾ slot. Displayed a three pitch mix, fastball sat 82-84 mph, T85, change up sat 78-79 mph; late action, slider was 71-74 mph; whiffs.

GRB Rays 15U Green Heinzen

+ 3B/RHP Cayden Shaver (Laconia, 2029)
Lean, athletic 6-foot, 170-pound frame with additional room to add strength. Shaver batted in the leadoff role and started at third base for GRB Rays Green Heinzen in their 11-10 win, showcasing some quality actions on both sides of the ball. At the plate, the right-handed hitter possessed a simple, line-drive approach, finishing 2-for-2 with an RBI single, three runs scored, and a walk. Defensively, Shaver displayed a clean glove with the ability to pick the ball well, making multiple tough backhanded picks in-game. 

+ OF/LHP AJ Guden  (Medford, 2029)
Trim, athletic 5-foot-11, 160-pound frame with plenty of room to add strength. Guden started in left field and batted in the three-hole in Thursday’s 11-10 win, leading the team in RBIs and XBHs on the day. The left-handed hitter found multiple triples to center field, finishing 3-for-3 with two triples, four RBIs, and three runs scored. An overall impressive day at the plate for the left-handed freshman. 

GRB Rays Illinois Green

+ UTL/RHP Macklin Templin (Jacobs, 2029)
Started at third base and hit sixth in the lineup. Simple, repeatable operation at the plate. 2-for-3 on the day with an RBI line drive single to right center and a line drive double down the left field line. 

+ SS/RHP Fernando Lendechy (McHenry, 2029)
Displayed advanced actions in the infield with an apparent internal clock and made some difficult plays this weekend. Line-drive approach with a feel for the barrel. Plays the game hard.

+ 1B/RHP Pauly Withaeger (Bartlett, 2029)
Twitchy 5-foot-11, 165-pound athlete with a gap-to-gap approach. Toe-tap stride to create rhythm with hands back behind his head into a quick turn with a barrel that stays on plane.

GRB Rays North 15U Green

+ SS/RHP Joey Ward (Pulaski, 2029)
Athletic 5-foot-11, 150-pound athlete with athletic actions in the dirt and a knack for the barrel. Simple straight up stride with quick hands. Had a pair of line-drives in a look on Thursday morning. Plays the game hard.

+ 3B/OF Ernesto Guzman (West De Pere, 2029)
Strong, compact 5-foot-8, 180 pound frame with twitchy actions and a fluid RH stroke that gets on plane. Flashed some power in a pullside double on Thursday morning.

+ MIF Eli Larson (Bay Port, 2029)
5-foot-8, 150 pound athlete that utilizes a waist-high leg-kick and uncoils with a quick bat through the zone that hunts barrels. Athletic defender up the middle that makes accurate throws and clean transfers.

GRB STIKS Black

+ SS/RHP, Chase Horn (Muskego, 2029)
Athletic 5-foot-9, 150-pound frame. Right-hand hitter. Impressed on both sides of the ball. Compact swing, short bat path, generates power through bat speed.  Finished the weekend 4-for-7 with a triple and five walks. Clean actions up the middle with soft hands. Threw three innings in Sunday’s outing with swing and miss stuff. Fastball 79-81 mph T82; ASR, change up 73-75 mph; fade, slider 66-68 mph; whiffs. Currently ranked No. 34  in Wisconsin.

GRB STiKS Teal

+ RHP Fynnigan Brovold (Mukwonago, 2029)
Strong 6-foot-3, 223-pound frame. Varied looks from the stretch. Legitimate three-pitch mix from a sidearm slot. Fastball ran 77-79 mph, topped 81 mph. Changeup sat low-mid 70s and slider sat mid-upper 60s. Velo held throughout his three innings of work.

GRB STiKS White

+ OF Addi Gilman (Nicolet, 2029)
5-foot-9, 140 pounds. Athletic frame. Started in center field and hit leadoff in the lineup. Loose left handed swing, produced consistently hard contact in game, showed the ability to use the whole field. Finished 2-for-2 with a line drive through the 3-4 hole and a double to left center. 

Great Lakes 2029s American

+ OF/2B Graham Peterson, (Stillwater Area, 2029)
5-foot-9, 170-pound build that is mature and physical. Hit in the leadoff spot with a powerful bat that drives the ball to center field consistently with power. Went 1-for-2 with a homerun to deep center field. Peterson plays an athletic center field and runs well.

+ SS/2B Tucker Zydowsky (Rosemount, 2029)
Lean 5-foot-10, 157-pound frame. Zydowsky started at shortstop and batted in the two-hole for Great Lakes American in Thursday’s pool play, finding multiple barrels throughout the game. The right-handed hitter showcased strong hands into a line-drive approach, finishing 2-for-3 on the day with a double into right-center field, an RBI single, and two runs scored. 

Halos National 2029

+ C Hayden Jones (DeForest, 2030)
Strong 6-foot-1, 190-pound frame behind the plate. Plenty of strength in the barrel and was all over the barrel Friday morning utilizing a gap to gap approach. He went 3-for-3 with two singles and a triple that one hopped the opposite field wall. Advanced actions behind the plate with a strong arm to pair. 

+ C/SS Kael Boenitz (Menomonee Falls, 2029)
5-foot-9, 160-pounds. Currently ranked No. 24 in Wisconsin’s 2029 class. Right handed hitter. Athletic, lean frame. Started behind the plate and hit second in the lineup. Slightly open stance, on plane barrel path with ability to adjust to different pitch locations. 3-for-3 on the day with a triple to left center, double down the left field line, single to left center and three RBIs. Was on the barrel in all three of his at bats. Behind the plate was 1.96 for his pop time on the bag in between innings. Arm strength, accuracy carried into game action, caught a runner stealing second base in the bottom of the first. 

+ SS/RHP Mason Krofta (Franklin, 2029)
Athletic 5-foot-8, 140-pound frame. Currently ranked No. 43 in Wisconsin's 2029 class. Smooth right-handed swing with a gap-to-gap approach. Utilized a toe-tap to create rhythm in the swing. Smooth transfers and accurate throws at short. Effortless actions.

+ 1B/LHP Anthony Ramirez (Greendale, 2030)
Strong 5-foot-10, 190-pound-frame with a strong frontside with easy power on display in a look this weekend. Mature approach with no stride and hands pre-loaded into a smooth lefty stroke. Blasted a triple to the deepest part of the park and made it look easy. On the barrel all weekend. Big bat to know in Wisconsin’s 2030 class.

+ RHP Connor Worth  (West Bend West, 2029)
6-foot-1, 160-pounds. Lean, long levered frame with room to add strength. Repeatable, easy delivery from a ¾ arm slot. Started on the mound and went 3 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 6 K. Showed three pitches. Fastball topped at 76 mph, sat 74-75 mph. Curveball topped 65 mph, sat 62-65 mph with 11-5 shape. Changeup was an out pitch topping at 64 mph, sitting at 63-64 mph with arm side fade. Consistently generated weak contact and missed barrels. Currently ranked No. 38 in the state. 

+ MIF Lukas Schulz (Germantown, 2029)
Twitchy athlete with a knack for hard contact. Saw him all over the barrel this weekend including a pair of line-drive singles in a look on Saturday morning. Also a quality defender at second base. 

Hit Dogs IL - Reesh

+ C/1B Drew Reece (Lansing Catholic, 2029)
6-foot-2, 185-pound frame that is lanky and will fill out as he matures. Bats from the left side and has a powerful swing that will develop as he matures. Reece is an advanced defender behind the plate with a 1.98 in-game pop time.

+ SS/RHP Cody Busch (Joliet Catholic, 2029) 
5-foot-9 150-pound strong frame, currently ranked No. 170 nationally and No. 7 in Illinois respectively. Wide even stance, knees bent, elbows out, toe tap load, fluid swing, one hand finish with a disciplined, gap-to-gap approach. Advanced defender at short with actions and feel for the game, high IQ. 

+ OF/RHP Braxton Bruns (Rochelle Township, 2029) 
6-foot-1, 162-pound long-levered frame. Ranked No. 18 in Illinois. Stands tall, feet together, open stance, bat on shoulder, forward leaning load, long, strong, hip lead swing. Raw athlete with much more to come physically. 

+ LHP/1B Garrett Olson (Fruitport, 2029) 
6-foot-5 185-pound long-levered frame. Ranked No. 168 nationally. Impressed vs Top Tier North. Long, fluid left-handed arm. Fastball sat 83-85 mph with arm-side-run. Changeup sat 67-70 mph with the ability to change arm speeds. 

Hitters 2029 - Navy

+ CIF/RHP Casey Helgren (South Milwaukee, 2029)
6-foot, 190-pound build, right-handed thrower and left-handed hitter. Currently ranked No. 16 in the state, he went the distance on Sunday. At the plate, he went 3-for-4 with two singles, a double, an HBP, and two stolen bases. On the mound, he threw three innings and recorded four strikeouts. His fastball sat 75-78 mph and topped out at 79 mph with noticeable two-seam run. He consistently generated swings and misses while attacking the strike zone throughout the game. Helgren showed the ability to compete on both sides of the ball and made a significant impact offensively and defensively.

+ OF Jackson Schulz (Muskego, 2029)
5-foot-11, 170 pounds. Right handed hitter. Lean, athletic frame. Started in centerfield and batted leadoff in the lineup. Open stance setup, controlled movements that generate bat speed and loud contact. Hit a three run homerun to left field on Thursday and was on the barrel consistently through hit at bats. Defensively shows athletic movements tracking balls into both gaps. Currently ranked No. 41 in the state. 

+ C/SS Chris Worrell Jr. (Oak Creek, 2030)
6-foot, 180-pounds. Left handed hitter. High waisted, athletic frame with plenty of room to add strength. Loose, athletic movements at the plate produced hard contact all weekend; Mature approach. Had multiple home runs this weekend and made it look easy including one to the opposite field. Making plenty of noise during the summer circuit and is one of the top hitters in the country in the 2030 class.

Hitters 2029 - White

+ OF Tyler Kelenic (Catholic Memorial, 2029) 
6-foot 170-pound, wide stance, knees slightly bent, relaxed in the box. Fluid, natural swing, two-hand finish, pull-side power with a mature approach. 

+ OF/SS Alex Douros (Shorewood, 2029)
5-foot-6, 150-pound frame ranked No. 48 overall in Wisconsin’s 2029 class. Strong lower half with an innate feel for the barrel. Smooth LH stroke that uses a toe-tap rhythm with quiet hands and makes it look easy. Saw him multiple times this weekend and competed every pitch and played the game hard. Advanced defender in the OF. 

+ OF/C Wyatt Knudsen (Bradford, 2029)
Strong 5-foot-9, 185-pound athlete with a twitchy RH swing and raw strength. Straight up stance with hands that rock back into a small stride into launch. Barrel gets on plane quickly with a knack for the barrel. Had two home runs on the weekend both of which were to dead center-field. A 2029 that is making some noise early this summer.

 + SS/C Evan Douros (Shorewood, 2029) 
5-foot-6, 143-pound frame. Stands in on the right side with an athletic, even stance. Quick, twitchy, and level swing with a two-hand finish, ability to bunt. Collected three hits and an RBI on two barrels and a bunt single. 

+ SS/RHP David Muller III (McHenry, 2029) 
6-foot-1, 190-pound frame. Stands tall at the plate from the right-side, even stance, long, fluid swing. Batted third and had two hard hits including a line drive up the middle and a groundball that hit the left-center wall. Defensively, played SS, strong, fluid arm (83mph at past showcase), displayed high IQ throwing a lead runner out at third. 

Hitters Black 2029

+ SS Julian Torres (Fenwick, 2029)
Left-handed hitter, right-handed thrower. Comfortable at the plate with a disciplined approach; does not chase pitches out of the zone and consistently works deep counts. Steady infielder with quick hands and strong vocal leadership on the field. Holds teammates accountable and shows versatility with his ability to move effectively from left to right. On the bases, he can be a nightmare for catchers, showing a strong feel for timing pitchers and taking advantage of opportunities to steal bases. 

Impact Sports Academy Royal

+ C/3B Bentley Henrickson (Lincoln, 2029)
5-foot-11, 165-pound frame. Flashed some power with more to come as he matures. Advanced defender behind the dish. Collected two RBI’s while going 2-for-3 with two doubles. Currently ranked No. 14 in the state.

+ SS Teagan Tate (Oconto Falls,2029)
6-foot-2 pound build; currently ranked No. 26 in the state. Advanced feel for the barrel, utilizing a gap-to-gap approach with a pair of doubles racking up four runs batted in and five total bases. Quick hands in the infield, turning multiple double plays: advanced arm. 

+ 3B Owen Adams (Bay Port, 2029)
6-foot-2 frame. Ranked No. 33 in the state, he used his speed to leg out multiple triples, finishing with four RBIs and seven total bases. Quick to the ball, he stayed through the zone and worked gap-to-gap, barreling balls to both sides of the field. Strong, athletic build with advanced speed out of the box, making him a constant extra-base threat.

JBA Clutch

+ OF/1B Eli Feit (Newman Catholic, 2029)
5-foot-9, 160-pound frame with twitchy actions in the box using a toe tap to create rhythm in the stride. Flashed some bat speed and feel for the barrel in a line-drive single on Friday afternoon. Athletic actions in the outfield with an arm that carries.

Macstrength Grizzlies Black

+ INF/RHP Nico Cappelli (Eden Prairie, 2029)
Physical 5-foot-10, 185-pound frame, lower body strength present. Showed quick hands and a strong arm across the diamond. Produced several hits over the span of three games while showing feel for the barrel.

Marucci Elite Minnesota - Thorney

+ RHP/C Luke Novak (Shakopee, 2029) 
6-foot-5, 165-pound long-levered frame. Simple, repeatable delivery, high leg-kick, square landing. Low ¾ slot, long and whippy arm, works quick, zone pounder. Fastball sat 81-83 mph with arm-side-run, swing-and-miss ability. Slider 74-75 mph, tight break, tunnels off fastball, swing-and-miss ability. Curveball 71-72 mph, 11-6 tight break. Novak worked quickly and efficiently during his 4-1 win after striking out 10 in seven complete innings against Slammers Black. Novak allowed zero earned runs on three hits and one walk. Offensively, Novak went 1-for-3 with a run scored from the right side. 

+ 3B/RHP Connor Gibney (Benilde-St. Margaret, 2029)
6-foot-4, 175-pound frame, long, athletic frame with plenty of projection. Worked with a lively two-seam fastball that showed natural arm-side run, sitting 78-80 mph and topping out at 82 mph. Consistently filled up the strike zone, got ahead in counts, and showed the ability to locate to both sides of the plate while keeping hitters off balance. Fastball played with some late life through the zone, generating swings and misses throughout the outing. Turned in a strong performance over 3.0 innings, allowing just two hits while striking out seven. Also showed athleticism on the offensive side, getting out of the box quickly and beating out a routine ground ball to shortstop for an infield single.

MBA 15u Green

+ C Nick Hoyt (University School-Milwaukee, 2029)

6-foot, 193-pound frame with proportional build. ¾ arm slot. Showed three pitches. Fastball topped 79 mph (three times), sat 77-78 mph. Curveball topped 67 mph, sat 65-66 mph with 11-5 shape. Change up topped 76 mph, sat 73-75 mph. 

+ OF/LHP Vincent Cognetta (Hudson, 2029)
5-foot-10, 160-pound frame with a balanced setup and line-drive approach. Frontside stays strong through contact allowing. Flashed feel to hit to the opposite field in a line-drive double in the leadoff spot down the left field line. All over the barrel this weekend. Smooth defensive actions in the outfield.

+ C/RHP Cameron Favilla (Blaine, 2029)
High waisted 6-foot-1, 170-pound frame with a smooth LH stroke and advanced actions behind the dish that was vocal as well. Hands set against shoulders and loads them back with a toe tap to create rhythm in his swing. Not much to show for in this look but made loud line-drive contact all game.

+ OF Brady Dahl (Norwood Young America, 2029)
Athletic 5-foot-11, 165-pound frame. Fluid mover, smooth left-handed swing. Swung a hot bat over the course of the weekend, going 8-for-11 with two home runs, a triple, and a double. Showed range in the outfield, getting to several balls in the gap.

+ SS/2B Nathan Margoni (St. Thomas More, 2029)
5-foot-10, 160-pound frame, athletic infielder who showed well throughout the day. Displayed an advanced arm with the range and athleticism to make difficult plays deep in the hole on the left side of the infield. Quick first step and confident actions defensively. At the plate, consistently produced loud contact and lived gap-to-gap. Collected a double and finished with three total bases on the day. Stayed on pitches well and showed the ability to drive the baseball with authority to all fields.

+ OF Cooper Gear (Valparaiso, 2029) 
Strong 5-foot-10, 190-pound frame. Currently ranked No. 3 in Indiana, Gear showcased advanced physicality on both sides of the ball. Strong barrel, consistent hard contact, and an advanced runner on the bases. In the outfield, Gear’s speed and advanced ball tracking ability are evident. 

+ OF Robert Perez II (Bay Port, 2029)
Athletic 5-foot-11, 175-pound frame. Currently ranked No. 4 in Wisconsin, Perez continued to show why he’s one of the top bats in Wisconsin’s 2029 class, showcasing consistent hard contact with a barrel that stays in the zone. In the outfield, Perez showcased natural movements with a strong arm to pair.

+ RHP/INF Trevor Nowak (South Milwaukee, 2029)
5-foot-8, 150-pound build. Athleticism present. Delivered on the mound on Saturday morning with a fastball in the upper sixties, touching 71 mph. Paired a 56-58 mph gyro slider and a 65 mph changeup with some arm-side movement. Nearly went the distance, allowing six hits and two runs (none earned) over six innings. Opened eyes with the bat as well, hitting a double to the fence in left field during his first at-bat.

+ SS Ryan Wadzinski (St. Thomas More, 2029)
5-foot-7, 145-pound frame. Compact, twitchy swing. Plenty of loud contact throughout the night on Wednesday. Fluid actions up the middle, soft hands, quick transfer.

+ RHP Talon Belongia (Indian Trail, 2029)
Athletic 6-foot-2, 170-pound with room to continue to add on strength. Had a great day on both sides Friday afternoon. Started on the mound and got a lot of swing and miss. Tallied five strikeouts through four innings pitched. Got ahead of hitters with a fastball at 77-80 mph, mixed in a CB, 68-71 with feel for strikes. At the plate tripled to the opposite field showing off his speed. 

Rake City 15u Gold 2029

+ LHP/1B Gavin Sweester (Riverside Brookfield, 2029)
6-foot-1, 165-pounds. Left handed hitter. Strong frame, room for future strength. Was the DH and batted fourth in the lineup. Hit from a tall, slightly open set up. 2-for-3 on the day with a flyball triple to center field and a ground ball through the 3-4 hole, both balls were hard contacts. 

+ RHP Owen Webb (Lyons Township, 2029)
5-foot-11, 165-pounds. Controlled, repeatable delivery from a ¾ arm slot. Started on the mound. Went 4 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 10 K. Utilized a four-pitch mix. 

+ OF Dylan Wyness (Nazareth, 2029)
5-foot-4, 140 pounds. Right-handed hitter. Controlled swing with a step back loading mechanism. Creates stretch in the upper body and hands on forward move. Showed ability to find the barrel with a line drive single to left-center.

+ RHP Mason Pickering (St. Teresa, 2029)
5-foot-9, 165-pound build. Showed well on the mound. Pickering was consistent with getting ahead of counts and wouldn’t be afraid to drop his off speed for a first-pitch strike. Has balanced during leg lift and stays controlled during delivery. Sat 80-83 mph fastball and topped out at 84 mph. Stat line: 5 innings, 1 hit, 8 Ks. 

+ 3B/OF Jasper Snyder (St Joseph-Ogden, 2029)
6-foot, 160-pounds with a long swing that covers the zone. Flashed bat speed and some power to the pullside. Plays the game hard.

+ 3B/RHP Coby Wickiser (St. Teresa, 2029)
An Athletic 5-foot-9, 185-pound frame with a repeatable delivery. Clean belt high leg kick with a compact arm action. Quiet footstrike and rotates through his front-side efficiently. Competed in all quadrants with his three pitch mix. Got ahead of hitters religiously while his fastball lived 77-79 mph T80 mph with life and gathered plenty of whiffs. He spun a slider at 72-73 mph with 10/4 shape that flashed depth at times for swings and misses. Turned over a changeup as well at 72-74 mph with fade. Suffocated hitters while dealing five shutout innings; punched out eight and walked none. Arm to follow as he matures. 

+ CIF Mason Vance (Monticello, 2029)
Big physical 6-foot, 215-pound frame with a knack for hard contact and a line-drive approach. Hands high and pre-loaded with a small, pick up and go stride. Fluid turn into foot-strike to get the barrel on plane.

+ OF Drew Carlson (Plainfield North, 2029)
5-foot-10, 130-pound body that has an opportunity to build muscle. Above average range and plays an advanced center field. Has a disciplined approach at the plate, collecting many walks and a couple hits. Carlson showed advanced baserunned, stealing several bases through two games.

+ RHP Brady Harris (Minooka, 2029)
 6-foot-2, 205-pound frame. Started against a talented GRB Stiks lineup. Held them to just two hits through three innings. Fastball worked low 80’s with carry, change up 70-72 mph, slider 64-68 mph with feel.

+ SS/RHP Nathan Fijol (New Trier, 2029)
Wiry 6-foot, 175-pound frame with advanced actions at shortstop that made some tough plays  with fast hands and clean transfers. In the box, he had a line-drive approach with feel for the barrel. All over the barrel during bracket play on Sunday. Made the game look easy. A name to note in Illinois.

+ 3B/RHP Ben Sutphen (New Trier, 2029)
Wiry 6-foot, 185-pound frame with twitchy actions. In the box, has a quiet no-stride load getting into his backside, whipping the barrel through the zone at launch. Impressed with a pair of barrels including a clutch line-drive triple to right-center field during Sunday morning’s bracket play. Also has upside on the mound with a fastball 78-80 mph, T81mph that flashed cut. Showed a 68-70 mph breaking ball with 11/5 shape. Also turned over a changeup at 73-75 mph with fade.

+ MIF Charlie Izenstark (Hersey, 2029)
Twitchy 5-foot-7, 150-pound frame with a barrel that stays on plane. Efficient mover. Simple no-stride load with a feel for a gap-to-gap approach. Sent a double to left center field to clear the bases on Sunday morning.

+ OF/RHP Tyson Adrianopoli (New Trier, 2029) 
Wiry 6-foot, 160-pound frame with quick hands and feel for the barrel. Smooth defender in the outfield. Had a line-drive single and competed in a look on Sunday. Competed every pitch.

5-foot-11, 175-pounds. Dealt three innings with three hits and surrendering zero. Showed three pitches. Fastball topped 80 mph, sat 78-79 mph. Curveball sat 64-65 mph. Slider topped 65-66 mph. Competed on the mound. At the plate produced two hard contacts with a line drive single to right field and a ground out to third base.

+ SS/RHP Brady Whorton (Carterville, 2029)
6-foot, 160-pound frame that can mature and develop. Bats from the left side and went 1-for-3 with a stolen base. Has a smooth swing with projectability. Moves well in the infield.

5-foot-8, 160-pound frame with athleticism and a mature lower half that aids in power and speed that allows him to play an advanced center field. Went 2-for-4 with a stolen base in this look.

5-foot-10, 160-pound frame, small load, quick clean swing, ability to barrel, disciplined. Was on base four times vs Wow Factor Stoppers with two hits and two walks from the left side. He led off the game with a line drive home run over the right field fence. He scored four times and drove in three. Nationally ranked tennis player.

+ OF/RHP Brady Siemsen (Lane Tech, 2029)
5-foot-10, 160-pound frame, stands tall, open stance, relaxed load, easy swing, was on the barrel all day against Wow Factor Stoppers from the right side. Siemsen went 3-for-4 with two triples and drove in 5.

Twitchy, long-levered 6-foot-3, 180-pound frame that is ranked 11th at his position nationally and 2nd overall in the state respectively. Wisconsin JFG Alum. Compact RH stroke with hands loaded high and a small toe tap stride into launch. Hands stay strong through contact with some weight to the barrel. Accelerates out of the box quickly and plays the game hard. One of the premier athletes in the 2029 class. 

+ RHP/3B Ayden Chapek (Eau Claire Memorial, 2029) 
5-foot-11, 160-pound athlete with twitchy actions in the box and smooth actions defensively at third. Tall setup with hands loaded high and a simple stride into launch with feel for the barrel. Turned on a loud RBI-double in a look on Saturday afternoon.

Displayed ability to drive the baseball the other way and used a gap to gap approach at the plate. Athletic actions in the outfield as well.

A 5-foot-9, 140-pound backstop with a lean, athletic build with plenty of room to add strength. Currently ranked No. 18 in the Illinois 2029 class. Projectable athletic mover with a polished right handed swing that was all over the barrel this weekend. Aggressive approach with minimal swing and miss. Uses a toe tap stride while hands rock back to create a rhythm in his swing. Advanced actions behind the dish as well with soft hands to steal strikes; ability to block to pair. A strong arm behind the plate keeps base-runners in check. One of the premier backstops in the Illinois 2029 class. Hit .522 with 12 hits, 3 doubles, and 6 RBIs on the weekend. Caught three runners stealing in seven chances as well at the dish. A name that will be heard plenty around the summer circuit.

+ SS/RHP Mason Leiterman (Bartlett, 2029)
A wiry 5-foot-11, 160-pound frame; projectable athlete with plenty of strength to add. Ranked No. 16 in Illinois 2029 class. Smooth right-handed swing with a small leg lift while hands shift back into a small load. Bat whips through the zone with a feel for the barrel that stays on plane and in zone. At short he has athletic actions with an arm that carries across the infield. He also struck out five in two innings of work this weekend. He operated at 79-81 mph, T82 and spun a slider at 68-70 mph with bite. Short compact arm action with a loose lower half. One of the premier athletes in the state. Hit an impressive .650 on the weekend with 13 hits, 2 doubles, and a triple with 8 RBI’s and 10 runs scored in 20 at-bats in the leadoff spot. High follow in the class of 2029. 

+ RHP/OF Clayton Atchison (Morgan Township, 2029)
An athletic 5-foot-10, 145-pound frame. No. 12 ranked RHP in Indiana’s 2029 class. Controls momentum downhill into a quiet footstrike with a low ¾ arm action. Twitchy delivery; ball jumps out of hand. Throws a fastball at 80-83 mph, T84 with life. Spins a firm breaking ball with sharp 10/4 movement at 68-70 mph and turns over a CH at 73-75 mph with fade. Impressed in a start where he dealt six innings of one run baseball, walked none while striking out six. Also hit .500 on the weekend with 11 hits in nine trips with two doubles and eight RBIs in 22 at-bats. Arm to keep tabs on as he fills out and adds more strength to the frame. 

+ OF Grant Spackey  (Nazareth Academy, 2029)
6-foot-1, 169-pound frame. Right-handed hitter. Open stance, slight leg lift, easy, feel for the barrel. Finished the weekend 8-for-18 with nine runs batted in. Rangy defender with a quick first step.

+ INF Connor Chaney  (William Mason, 2029)
Twitchy 6-foot-1, 160-pound frame. Right-handed hitter and Junior Future Games alum. Stays tall throughout operation, rhythmic hover, deep hands, generates easy power.  Added five extra-base hits on the weekend. Fluid defender, with consistent footwork, and soft hands. Currently ranked No. 17 in Ohio.

+ INF Shailen Castillo (Lycee Francais de Chicago, 2029)
5-foot-9, 140-pound frame. Athletic build. Smooth actions in the infield. Quick, compact swing with flashes of pop. Finished 5-for-10, 2 2B, 5 R, 4 RBI through five games. Pitched an inning, ran the fastball 76-78 mph. On the barrel all weekend.

+ LHP/1B Archie Graber (Loyola Academy, 2029)
6-foot-2, 185-pound frame that impressed in a brief stint on the mound Friday afternoon. Low effort, cross-body operation with a ¾ arm slot and short leg kick. Fastball sat 78-81 mph, T80 and spun two distinct breaking balls with feel to spin them in any count. His slider was 76-77 mph that flashed depth at times and he also spun a curveball as well at 70-72 mph with 1/7 shape that he could use to get ahead in the count. Plenty of weak contact in his two innings of work where he punched out four. Flashed feel for the barrel on Sunday as well where he went 2-for-2 with four RBIs. An arm to keep tabs on in IL.

+ OF/LHP Riley Gozdziak (Lane Tech, 2029)
Levered 5-foot-10, 165-pound frame. Small leg kick with hands set high and above head into a smooth LH swing that gets on plane. Hunts early in the count. Clean actions in the outfield. Also a competitor on the mound where his fastball is 74-76 mph and spins a breaking ball at 63-65 with 1/7 shape. Appeared in relief and dealt five innings of shutout baseball while punching out four and walking two and surrendering just two hits.

+ SS/RHP Damian Guerrero (Von Steuben Metro Science, 2029)
Twitchy 5-foot-10, 150-pound frame; fluid right handed swing with advanced actions at short. Small leg kick load with hands already back pre-loaded with a turn that whips his barrel through the zone. Impressed with a loud double of the very top of the left field wall. 

Wow Factor DTA 15U Elite

+ C/2B Dominic Zagotta (St. Francis, 2029) 
6-foot 165-pound, impressed behind home plate against Wow Factor DTA. Zagotta commanded the field behind the plate, directing fielders, hustling towards first backing up throws. Zagotta also showcased a strong, fluid arm by throwing out two runners at second base. Offensively, from the left side, he showcased a fluid swing, and went 1-for-2 with a walk and an RBI.

+ OF/LHP Anthony Cascio (Loyola Academy, 2028)
6-foot, 180-pound frame. Balanced setup with no stride. Hands rock back into load. Fluid swing with quick hands. Feel for the barrel and ability to turn and stay connected to drive the baseball pull-side. Intriguing athlete.

+ OF/RHP Lewis McKilip (Batavia, 2029)
6-foot-2, 185-pound athletic frame with a strong lower half. A small step into the load with hands high and tight. Compact swing and barrel that stays on plane. Shortens up with two-strikes with minimal swing and miss. 

+ 3B/RHP Nathan Ramirez Mata (Highland Park, 2029)
Strong, compact 5-foot-11, 200-pound frame with plenty of athleticism. In the box he flashed a smooth LH swing that barreled up a ball into the right center gap for a loud double a barrel that gets on plane with plenty of strength to it. He also impressed on the mound briefly where he pounded the zone with a fastball at 77-79 mph, T80 that flashed ASR. Spun a breaking ball as well at 68-70 mph with 11/5 shape.
