Roster Preview

Brayden Borges RHP / 3B / Pleasant Valley High, CA / 2027

From 5/7/26: "Borges is a player that just gets after it, everything he did was positive and he single handedly put his team in a position to win in both of the games. In the first game, he was the starter for PV, going five innings pitched, giving up four hits, one walk, and striking out six. Borges had his fastball working between 88-90 mph T91, with his curveball working between 72-74 mph, and had his slider, which was his money pitch, working at 75-78mph with some serious spin. I was super intrigued with the pace of how fast Borges works, it’s get the ball and throw it, and it’s a ton of strikes. Offensively, Borges had a hell of a day going a combined 4-6 with two home runs, two runs scored, and four RBIs. Whoever takes a chance on this kid is going to get a steal of a player, I think the pitching is where his future is headed, but he can still produce offensively."

Dalton Deadman OF / SS / Petaluma High, CA / 2027

From 1/25/26: "Deadman does everything with intent and at full speed, the more I see Deadman, the more I like the way he plays. He walks around with a lot of energy and confidence, his arm is very strong in the OF and can play either RF or CF with his speed. Deadman has a sweet left handed swing, he was putting baseballs off the wall and in the trees at Sunken Diamond. The UCSB commit will be on a lot of people’s radar this upcoming season/summer."

Chase Cotton 3B / RHP / Whitney, CA / 2028

"Cotton was coming in as one of the nation's hottest pospects in his '28 class, and he certainly showed out this season pitching in a loaded Sierra Foothill League. The freshman had some troubles with walks all year but was extremely competitive every outing I was able to see him. His fastball has got up to 94 MPH this season, which was a career best for Cotton. The breaking balls and changeup are plus pitches and have a shot to be even better. Cotton has still a way to go but with his competitive work ethic he's going to be playing this game for a long time."

Colton Fitzgibbon OF / LHP / San Ramon Valley High, CA / 2028

From 12/2/25: "Tooled up and talented is the description given for Fitzgibbon by NorCal Associate Director Hank LoForte and several others speaking on the NorCal two sport standout. Fitzgibbon is a standout football player who boasts an offer to the University of Oregon football program. His athleticism translates to the baseball field as a 6.2 runner who can defend in CF at an elite level with emerging power in his bat that could profile as a long term power/speed offensive player who plate elite defense at a premium spot. Like any elite two sport athlete there will always be questions about the future direction his athletic career will take him whether two sports or one sport only, but should that future include baseball Fitzgibbon has shown the profile to warrant a Top 20 ranking at present."

Mariano Gonzalez LHP / OF / Vanden, CA / 2027

From 5/31/25: "Gonzalez is another highly touted arm in the 2027 class, but what separates him from a lot of the other arms up here is that he is left handed. Gonzalez comes in as the 5th ranked LHP in all of California, along with a top 25 ranking for his class for all of the lefties. Standing at 6’0 185 lbs, Gonzalez is a very strong kid, with a great lower half to go along with a great arm. Having seen Gonzalez earlier in the high school season, it was tough to gauge his outing because the conditions weren’t the best and there was a ton of wind. Today was a different story, he wasted no time making his name known against a group of very talented hitters. Gonzalez actually got the start in the ProCase and the fastball was the first thing that everyone took notice of. The velocity has taken a leap since the Pre Season All-State that happened in late January, Gonzalez’ fastball was sitting between 91-92 mph T93, with an average IVB of 15 and max spin rate of 2512 rpm on the fastball. It comes out heavy and the mechanics have been cleaned up to where Gonzalez is really starting to develop into a pitcher instead of just a thrower. The curveball is a really good second pitch, when he throws it over the plate it's a strike, and then he can mix one in the dirt for a chase pitch. Gonzalez has put a lot of work on his changeup, with a max spin rate of 1,657 rpm. Hitters didn’t seem to touch the changeup or any of his pitches to say the least. Gonzalez is trending in an upward direction and has a big summer ahead of him."

Wyatt McElree RHP / SS / Redwood High, CA / 2027

From 2/9/25: "The two-way SS from Visalia opened some eyes in front of the Prep Baseball staff, McElree had an event best infield velocity of 82 MPH, with a quick transfer on ground balls. If he wants to be a SS at the next level he is going to need to improve his overall quickness and speed. The footwork is good and he uses the one hand very well when going to attack the baseball. Max EV on the day was 91.8 MPH with an avg of 81.1 MPH, his long frame will give him a shot to have a lot of power potential. Where McElree really caught my eye was when he hopped on the mound to throw, it was a very simple/effortless motion. The ball comes out of the hand hot and his mechanics are very clean. Max velo of the day was 87 MPH with an avg FB velocity of 84.4, avg spin rate of 2301 RPM. The CB is nasty, avg velo of 71.1 MPH sharp bite with avg spin rate of 2642 RPM. CH plays at 74 MPH and has an avg spin rate of 2291 RPM, tons of fade. Excited to see McElree have another huge year for Redwood High School."

Damien Nolan RHP / 3B / Saint Mary's College High School, CA / 2027

From 6/1/25: "Damien Nolan, a 2027 RHP/INF from St. Mary's College, showcased impressive tools at the Prep Baseball Future Games Tryout in NorCal this past weekend. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound athlete displayed a strong, athletic build, projecting well for future development. His infield velocity topped out at 88 mph, demonstrating a live arm with clean mechanics and consistent accuracy from a high ¾ slot. On the mound, Nolan’s fastball sat 85-87 mph, peaking at 88 mph, with a spin rate averaging 2100 RPM, showing good life and potential for added velocity as he matures. His curveball, ranging 70-72 mph with a 2300 RPM spin rate, exhibited a sharp 11/5 break, generating swings and misses. Nolan’s changeup, at 76-78 mph, complemented his arsenal with deceptive arm speed and late fade. At the plate, he recorded a max exit velocity of 103.9 mph (92.7 mph average) and a max batted distance of 395 feet, highlighting plus power potential with a line-drive, pull-side approach. His 60-yard dash time of 7.2 seconds reflects above-average speed for his size. Defensively, Nolan showed soft hands and fluid footwork in the infield, with the versatility to handle multiple positions. Overall, his combination of raw power, arm strength, and two-way upside makes him a high-follow prospect for the 2027 class. Nolan is also coming back from an arm injury and was only on a 15 pitch count, a fun arm to follow when he’s back to throwing full time."

Cooper Carleton LHP / 1B / Whitney High, CA / 2027

From 2/23/26: "Carleton got to pitch second in relief behind Castellanos and was by far the best pitcher of the day. The Gaucho commit was sitting 85-86 mph with his fastball, topping out at 87 mph. Primarily, Carleton used his heater to get ahead, and then flashed his offspeed, which seems to have gotten even better since the summer time. It’s not an easy at bat when facing Carleton, he’s pretty funky, and nothing is straight out of his hand, lefties seem to struggle. His final line was 1.2 IP with 0 hits and 2 Ks, Carelton did what he could to minimize the damage, but the Wildcats still came up short."

Nico Busalacchi 1B / RHP / Del Oro High, CA / 2027

From 3/19/26: "Busalacchi is having an amazing start to his junior year, he’s hitting well over .550 with six doubles, three homeruns, and an OPS of 1.698. Not bad for the Loomis native, everytime I’ve seen him this season, he’s continued to keep a hot bat. In his first AB, he drove a double down the line, he was a little early, but he kept his hands back and was able to stay behind the baseball. His second at bat, he went down swinging, had some trouble with the off speed, but he managed to draw a walk later in the game. If he continues to stay hot at the plate, he’s going to put his team in a spot to win a lot of games."

Riley Salvemini 3B / RHP / Woodland Senior High, CA / 2028

From 4/9/26: "Lots of buzz was going around about Salvemini last season and throughout the summer circuit, yesterday I got to see him in action, and he surely didn’t disappoint. His size was the first thing that stood out, standing at 6’3” 185 lbs, when he isn’t on the mound, Salvemini patrols shortstop for his Woodland team. Salvemini ended up throwing a no hitter through seven innings of complete work, simply dominating the Casa Roble lineup left and right. His fastball sat between 88-91mph the whole game T92, he flashed an occasional changeup to lefty hitters that sat between 78-79mph, with late fade action. Salvemini threw a CB/SL mix, his SL doesn’t have as much shape as his CB, but the CB still possessed good velocity between 73-76mph with sharp bite. Salvemini wasn’t afraid to attack hitters in the box, and he didn’t have to rely strictly on his fastball, he worked all around the zone, mixing in his secondaries and pitching backwards. One thing I saw that Salvemini utilized, was his ability to mix tempo and change his delivery, and mix in a shimmy or two. He finished his day with seven strikeouts, three walks, a run, and no hits. On the offensive side, Selvemini can swing it too, he managed to get one hit, but took some violent swings at the plate. For only being a sophomore, Salvemini is just tapping into what he’s capable of, whether the two way life will be for him, he’s got an arm that a lot of coaches are looking for. Keep a huge tab on Salvemini for the rest of this season and upcoming summer."
