On Tuesday, July 21, Prep Baseball hosted the official 2026 Senior Future Games Workout Day. The best uncommitted talent from the Class of 2027 gathered at LakePoint Sports in Emerson, Ga., to open this prestigious recruiting event, as position players were guided through a pro-style workout in front of a sea of college coaches.

In this post, we’ll share the stat leaders from across the country following Tuesday’s workout, leaderboards precisely collected by our state-of-the-art tech partners at TrackMan, Blast Motion, VALD Performance, and Vizual Edge.

MULTI-TOOL PERFORMERS

Before the individual categories, here’s the group that showed up more than once on event leaderboards. These are the position players who finished inside the top-10 in at least three separate workout categories:

OF Jonathan Dada (Abbey Park, ON) was the story of the SFG Workout Day. He finished inside the top-10 across seven different stat categories, demonstrating all-around premium athleticism paired with bat strength and a standout 6-foot-4, 225-pound physique. He showed a 105 mph max exit velocity during BP after running a 6.46 time in the 60-yard dash, along with jumping and a 33.0-inch vertical, the highest mark of the day. Dada checked many boxes across a memorable showcase performance, and we'll be closely tracking how it translates inside the lines during gameday for Team Canada.

Sweet Spot percentage: This metric is determined by how often the player produces a batted ball during the session with a launch angle between 8 to 32 degrees.

BLAST MOTION

HIGHEST AVG. HAND SPEED

Hand Speed: The observed speed as measured on the handle of the bat (measured six inches from the knob of the bat). Peak Hand Speed will occur prior to the moment of impact, very close to the commit time in the swing when the wrists unhinge.

HIGHEST AVG. BAT SPEED

Bat Speed: The observed speed of the sweet spot of the bat at impact. The sweet spot of the bat is measured six inches from the tip of the bat.

HIGHEST AVG. ROTATIONAL ACCELERATION

Body Rotation: A swing that has the appropriate relative contributions of body and bat rotations is an efficient and powerful swing that maintains proper sequencing. An efficient baseball swing is one in which the body creates the initial movements, which is then transferred to the arms and out to the bat, thereby maximizing Bat Speed through this proximal-to-distal kinematic sequencing movement pattern.

The Edge Score is a comprehensive score out of 100 that takes the core-six visual skills into account, providing athletes, parents, coaches and scouts with a benchmark number for assessing an athlete’s overall visual ability. In general the higher the Edge Score, the higher chance of athletic success. Think of the Edge Score as the ‘Sixth Metric’ in the standard five tools that make up a ball player.

The average Edge Score for the 2020 MLB Draft Class was 79.3 (of hitters who completed a Vizual Edge test). MLB players we’ve worked with typically show stronger scores, with elite hitters scoring consistently above 87.0 on their Edge Score. At this year’s Senior Future Games, 32 of the 133 players tested cleared that 79.3 draft-class benchmark.

Exit velocity and run times each tell you something on their own, but together they can tell you more. Thirteen players cleared a max EV of 100 mph or more after running a sub-6.80 time in the 60-yard dash at the Senior Future Games.
