2026 Prep Baseball Dakotas In-Game Standouts
June 25, 2026
The Dakotas, USA - Prep Baseball Dakotas in its second year of full coverage, and we've had the mobility to see more talent this year than ever before. Toward the back end of the high school season, we traveled over 2,000 miles across the two states to scout top talent in 13 total playoff games. The catalyst was on June 2nd, when 20+ college programs gathered in Sioux Falls for the Dakota Top Prospect Games, where players performed in a showcase and gameplay setting.
If you are interested in qualifying for the 2027 Dakota Top Prospect Games, our Summer ID Events serve as an identifier for the heavily recruited invite-only event. Today, we are going to break down the players that shined in competition through this spring and early summer.
ND IN-GAME STANDOUTS
+ 3B Jack Tooke (Mandan, 2027, Illinois-Chicago commit)
An increase in physicality has paid dividends to Jack Tooke's game. In the 2 games we scouted Mandan, Tooke collected 3 loud barrels, and displayed a plus arm across the infield. Jack was a clear leader for the Braves squad this spring, and has matured well after the 2025 Future Games.
+ SS Max Zenker (West Fargo Sheyenne, 2027, Uncommitted)
Arguably the best defender in the Dakotas junior class impressed in 4 showings in front of us. The top of the order bat has rhythm to his operation in the batter's box and gets gritty when he has to. Advanced footwork laterally, projects to stay up the middle at the college level.
+ RHP Kyler Kudrna (Dickinson, 2026, North Dakota State commit)
The soon to be Bison had an electric showing at the WDA tournament in Bismarck. Kudrna unloaded a 4-pitch mix, cruising in the upper-80s his entire time. High ceiling, will be to continue to see how his career progresses now in Fargo.
Kyler Kudrna (2026, RHP, @MavericksBSB) has been solid through 4 IP.

Ease to the operation, has improved pitch-ability since last summer.

+ C Josh Spillman (Dickinson, 2028)
Spillman had a mature approach to the game as a Sophomore at the WDA tournament. The backstop handled his pitcher (Kudrna) well, while also controlling the running game. Still raw in his abilities, but the frame projects and a name to keep an eye out for in the future.
Josh Spillman (2028, C, Dickinson) was mature today.

Handled high level arm well behind the dish, smoked a single as well 📽️👇

+ INF Grayden Peterson (West Fargo, 2028)
Peterson smashed 2 home runs in the Packers quarterfinal matchup with Bismarck High. Easy pop, with present flashes higher end bat-to-ball skills. A stud hockey player that spent time in Canada last year, can clearly hit a baseball far as well.
The shortstop showed flashes of athleticism this spring. Projects with a 6-2, 167lbs frame, simple and fluid actions in the batters box. We will get eyes on Bogner again this August at the Summer ID-Bismarck.
Aiden Bogner (2027, SS, Mandan) rips a pull side single here.

+ OF/RHP Evan Felber (Fargo South, 2027, Uncommitted)
Evan Felber was the swiss army knife of the Fargo South state tourney run. Felber tossed a complete game with 8 strikeouts, while collecting 2 hits and 2 RBIs. Better in game player than in showcase setting, has the skills to play at the next level.
+ C Henry Schrum (Fargo South, 2028)
Despite standing at 5-10, 170lbs, Schrum plays the game loud. The young catcher handled a mid-90s arm well with an above average catch and throw ability. Hit multiple balls hard, got his exit velo up to 102.4 at the 2026 Summer ID-Fargo.
+ C Jack Boehm (West Fargo Sheyenne, 2028)
Boehm goes unnoticed in a good way behind the plate. In a tight matchup with Horace, he displayed his 77 MPH arm from behind the dish to erase a leadoff runner. Still developing hit tool, but has feel for swing decisions.
+ RHP Parker Hoff (West Fargo, 2026, Uncommitted)
A prime example of a late bloomer from the Upper Midwest, Hoff quieted a blazing hot Fargo South offense with a sharp 2 pitch mix. Hoff was 85-87 reaching back for an 88 twice in big spots. Spun a legitimate curveball at the 72-75 MPH range. Gained 6 MPH over the course of a year.
+ OF/LHP Cason Borchardt (Horace, 2027, Oregon commit)
The highly touted prospect shined in gameplay. Out of the leadoff spot, Borchardt seldom missed a barrel, with his relaxed whippy swing. Showed a possible get out of jail free card on the mound, living in the upper-80s while mixing a CH & SL.
+ SS JJ McMenamy (West Fargo Sheyenne, 2029)
A sparkplug of a freshman, McMenamy had an above average approach at the plate during the North Dakota State Tournament. McMenamy collected 2 hits off a mid-90s pitcher, and complemented Zenker up the middle with his glove. A ballplayer to know with an already advanced toolkit.
+ RHP Jaxon Omdahl (Park River Area, 2028)
The sophomore had just recently claimed the North Dakota Class B state title before lighting up the mound at the Top Prospect Games. In game action, Omdahl was competitive around the zone with 3 pitches. Both offspeed pitches show above average shapes. Omdahl was up to 91 MPH and is an arm to watch from small town North Dakota.
Fresh off winning a state championship, Jaxon Omdahl (2028, RHP, @PRpost147) opened eyes down in Sioux Falls.

+ SS Drew Jordan (Minot, 2027, Uncommitted)
The Magicians shortstop collected 2 hits off three quality Sheyenne arms in the state quarterfinal. 6-4 frame with room for more, raw with potential tools. One of the top athletes on his squad, all WDA Basketball player for Minot High too.
+ RHP Jordan Clemenson (West Fargo Sheyenne, 2026, Concordia-Moorhead commit)
Another late developed arm, Clemenson upped his fastball 6 MPH from last year. Clemenson opened up in the low 80s with a upper 70s cutter, and built into 84-87 T88 by the 4th inning.
+ OF Sith Egan (Fargo South, 2026, Uncommitted)
Egan was a homer shy of the cycle against Mandan in the State Quarterfinals. Egan has been up to exit velos of 105 at our showcase and let it eat at the state tournament. Bat first with pop.
SD IN-GAME STANDOUTS
+ RHP Everett Salonen (2027, Sioux Falls Jefferson, Uncommitted)
We had the pleasure of getting two viewings of Salonen this spring. At the 2026 SD State Tournament, the righty attacked Pierre early and often. He backed it up at the Top Prospect Games, getting up to 90.0 with his fastball, punching tickets and forcing weak contact.
Here’s a clean look from Everett Salonen (2027, RHP, @SFJeffersonBsbl) yesterday.

Looser movements, has intent on the hill.

+ SS Brody Jacobson (2026, Sioux Falls Jefferson, Northern State commit)
Jacobson played the game extremely hard when we saw him. Simple at the plate, showed flair with the glove, making multiple tough plays in the hole. Poised to make an impact early up in Aberdeen.
Brody Jacobson (2026, SS, @SFJeffersonBsbl) gets the party started with an RBI double.

+ 3B Noah Kuenzi (2027, Sioux Falls Jefferson, Uncommitted)
Impressed on both sides of the ball at the state tournament and Top Prospect Games. No wasted movement at the plate, simple actions that translate to the next level. Manned the hot corner well with grit.
+ RHP Brady Waddell (2027, Rapid City Stevens, Uncommitted)
The 2025 Future Games alum has taken leaps and bounds with his game in 2026. In now 3 outings this year in front of Prep Baseball, Waddell has been in the upper 80s deep into games, hitting a 91 recently at the MPL. Still more to come from a wiry frame.
Uncommitted ‘27 P/SS Brady Waddell (SD, @BradyWaddell7) adding a power late-night look.
— Cooper Trinkle (@CTrinkle23) June 17, 2026
Wiry 6’1” frame. Sat 89-91 in his first frame, setting 85-88 in the 2nd. Cutting the fastball & spinning a CB & SL in the upper-70s.#MPL26 || @PB_Uncommitted || @PBDakotas pic.twitter.com/ZnIWQdfM9r
+ RHP Sam Gokie (2026, Yankton, Mount Mary commit)
Gokie was in and around the zone consistently. Dominated the inner and outer third with his fastball, allowing his breaking ball to tunnel for take and whiffs. Low 80s operator, flashed an 85. Has the opportunity to make an impact for the Lancers.
+ LHP Hunter Halajian (2026, Watertown, Uncommitted)
Pitchability was the word of the day for Halajian as he helped the arrows take down the No. 1 seed Harrisburg Tigers in state. The southpaw manipulated the baseball around the zone through his outing. A 6-0, 160lbs body that was up to 84. Pitcher first.
+ C Trey Hofer (2027, Harrisburg, Uncommitted)
Performed well behind the plate, gunning two runners out at the State Tournament. Hofer would drive in two runs on an opposite field double. The physical '27 made gains in athleticism at the Top Prospect Games as well.
+ RHP Caleb Severin (2027, Brandon Valley, Uncommitted)
The Lynx's number one arm is another pitcher first arm from the Dakotas. Severin was effective at 81-82 T83, with a devastating changeup. Struck out 39 in 27.1 innings in 2026.
At 6-3, 225lbs, the righty got up to 85 in his first inning of his state tournament start. Would go 6 innings, allowing 2 earned runs, working around baserunners the whole outing. Clear strength, more in the tank from the multi-sport athlete.
+ RHP Tate Johnson (2029, Sturgis Brown)
Johnson was wiry and explosive at the 2026 Top Prospect Games. Was competitive firing an 87-88 MPH fastball touching 89.3, with a snappy curveball at 72-74 w/ 3000+ RPM. Named to Shooter's Short List for players to watch later this August from the 2029 class.
+ RHP Kade Wede (2027, Harrisburg, Uncommitted)
Wede continued to show why he's one of the top uncommitted players in the Midwest. Kade lit up the mound at Augie, sitting 89-90 T91.4. Continues to be in the zone with offspeed. Shouldn't be on the board to much longer.
+ RHP Jack Blomgren (2027, Brandon Valley, Uncommitted)
A raw arm with a high ceiling. Blomgren struggled in the state tournament with command but got back in the zone at the Top Prospect Games. At low effort Blomgren was 90-91 T92.7 with his fastball, and a 77-79 MPH slider that averaged 15 inches of sweep. An arm to keep tabs on through the summer.
