Welcome to the IHSA Daily Roundup, where our Prep Baseball Illinois staff will provide readers with scores, game recaps, and highlights from the games that took place the day before. In conjunction with our comprehensive in-game coverage throughout the 2026 season, we’ll publish this Daily Roundup to keep readers informed on the latest happenings across the state.
We obtain most of our scores by following teams on GameChanger, as well as through MaxPreps and Twitter. Coaches are also able to submit their own team’s box scores to us via email at [email protected], or through our IHSA Submitted Scores form, which they’re able to request by emailing our staff or by sending a us a DM over Twitter. Louisville commit Cory Les (2026) improved to 4-0 on the mound with 1.1 innings pitched, striking out three with one hit - also going 2-for-3 with a triple and an RBI. Kentucky commit Tristan Steger (2027) homered with an RBI. Danny Donovan (2026; Wisconsin-Parkside) tripled and went 2-for-4 - while senior Oakton commit Sean Popp (RBI) and junior Ryan Lotus (RBI) each singled.

Downers Grove South defeated No. 3 Lincoln Way East by a score of 2-1 to run their season record to 23-12. On the mound the Mustangs used seven different pitchers, each going one inning a piece. They combined to concede 1 earned run and 3 hits to the Griffins on the day. At the plate the Mustangs were paced by Luke Potter (2028) who was 2-for-3 with 2BB's and a 1 run scored. Casey Wierda, 1-for-3, singled to tie the game at one in the top of the 7th inning and Billy Skweres (2026; Loras College) doubled in the top of the 8th inning to give the Mustangs a 2-1 lead.

Barrington took down No. 14 Geneva by the score of 6-3. The Broncos offense was led by Joseph Mueller (2027), who drove in three RBIs on his three-run home run. That was part of a four-run fifth inning. RBI singles came from Jackson Roberts (2027) and Drew Whitney (2028). On the mound, the Broncos pitching staff shut down Geneva for the first six innings and combined for three strikeouts, four hits allowed, two walks allowed, and no runs given up. The first six guys pitched an inning to keep the shutout going. For Geneva, their key player was Mason Bruesch (2027; Michigan State Commit), who went 2-for-3 with a hit by pitch, single, stolen base, and a three-run homer that was hit in the seventh inning.

The Indians offense was led by Brady Kozlowski (2026; Findlay Commit), who went 2-for-3 with a bases-loaded hit by pitch, single, two-run home run, and three runs scored. Ryan Keener (2026; Illinois Wesleyan Commit) went 3-for-5 with three singles, a run scored, and two RBIs. Tyler Ebel (2027) knocked in two RBIs on his two-run double. Jason Duy (2026; Aurora Commit) went 2-for-3 with a double, RBI single, and a run scored.

On the mound the had four different arms, Landon Dippel 2.1IP, Aiden Dunlap 1.2IP, Owen Stoffel 1IP, Lavin Tull 2IP, combined for 9H, 5R, 5ER, 4BB, 9K. At the plate the Panthers were paced by Carson Bauer 2-for-3 with 3R, Anthony Perez 2-for-3 with 3R, Liam Decker 3-for-3 with 2R and 2RBI, and Asher Cantu 2-for-3 with 2RBI. The Indians of Mascoutah were paced at the palte by Nolan Lebert 3-for-4 with 2R, Nathan Walker 2-for-4 with 5RBI, and David Schulte 2-for-3.

Plainfield North took down No. 19 Lincoln-Way West in a Power 25 upset, winning by the score of 10-9. Plainfield North staged a late-game comeback after being down 9-2 in the fourth, including a seven run inning in the bottom of the sixth to propel them to a win. Chase Holtzman (2026) and Logan Huegel (2026) both went deep at the plate with a three-run home run. Connor Eydenberg (2027) also hit a home run in a 2-for-4 showing with a double and collecting two RBIs. Ryan Potter (2026) had the most hits of any Plainfield North bat, going 3-for-3 with a double and three runs scored in the win.

Edwardsville recieved seven innings of work from seven different pitchers in a bullpen game, only allowing five hits and one walk as a team and striking out three batters. Both Ty Hunt and Samuel Noascono drove in a run to help provide the Tigers with enough offense for the win.

Miles Browne (2026) and Aidan Huegen (2026) each put together three scoreless innings of work. Browne got the start, going three innings with two hits and one walk allowed, striking out five. Huegen had three hitless innigs with a walk and a strikeout.

Ben Wilson got the start for Granite City and went the distance, throwing seven innings, allowing just four hits, two runs, and strikingout out seven batters to help secure the win.
