Director's List: Uncommitted 2027 Prospects (2026 LHSAA State Tournament)
May 20, 2026
Just like that, the 2026 Louisiana high school baseball season has come to a close. Last week’s LHSAA State Tournament crowned ten champions across all divisions, and the action certainly lived up to the hype, as there was plenty of drama and excitement at McMurry Park.
With the end of another season and another state tournament, we wanted to highlight some of the top uncommitted 2027 prospects that we saw in Sulphur, LA last week.
UNCOMMITTED 2027 PROSPECTS

Coleton Donaldson 3B / RHP / Sam Houston, LA / 2027Rankings StateRank: 101 / POS: 8
Physical 6-2, 180-pound frame with a wiry, lean build and plenty of room to continue adding strength. Donaldson once again rose to the occasion on the biggest stage, closing out the 2026 state title for the Broncos after also recording the final outs of their championship run in 2025. This year, however, the stuff took a noticeable jump forward and looked far more electric. Entering in relief during the 5th inning, the talented right-hander fired three no-hit innings while allowing only two walks and striking out four. His fastball sat 87-89 mph with lively action through the zone, but it was his advanced feel for spin that really separated him. Donaldson showed the ability to land both an 80-83 mph cutter and a 76-79 mph slider for strikes, with each pitch spinning north of 2,600 RPM. He’s also an intriguing long-term prospect because he won’t turn 18 until after graduation, giving him significant upside as he continues to mature physically and develop on the mound.

Dylan Delaneuville LHP / OF / Lutcher, LA / 2027Rankings StateRank: 42 / POS: 5
The talented southpaw from Lutcher delivered one of the most dominant pitching performances of the entire 2026 LHSAA State Tournament last week. Delaneuville entered in relief during Game 1 against Brusly and completely took over, firing the final four innings while allowing zero hits with just one walk and six strikeouts to earn the win. Working at a quick tempo, the uncommitted 2027 left-hander relentlessly attacked hitters with an 86-90 mph fastball that featured enough life through the zone to generate consistent swing-and-miss. His 76-79 mph slider was as sharp as we’ve seen it all spring, showing late, tight break with quality depth and sweep across the zone. As we head into the summer, Delaneuville has firmly established himself as a must-see uncommitted arm in Louisiana’s 2027 class.

Brayden Holloway C / RHP / Glenmora High School, LA / 2027Rankings StateRank: 78 / POS: 14
Physical 6-2, 190-pound athletic frame with long levers and plenty of room remaining to continue adding strength. Holloway was outstanding on both sides of the ball last week and showed why he’s one of the more intriguing two-way prospects in the state. After tossing a complete-game shutout with nine strikeouts in the semifinals, it was actually his performance behind the plate during the state finals against Pitkin that really caught our attention. The talented backstop finished 1-for-4 in the championship game, but the at-bats were consistently competitive and he took quality swings throughout the day. Holloway employs a simple load at the plate and showed present bat speed with the ability to whip the barrel through the zone on a clean path that stayed on-plane from start to finish. Defensively, he also impressed from the crouch with solid receiving and blocking skills, while showing quick, clean transfers on throws down to second base. The combination of athleticism, two-way ability, and physical projection makes Holloway an especially intriguing follow heading into the summer.

Shepherd Gammon 3B / OF / LSU Laboratory, LA / 2027Rankings StateRank: 44 / POS: 4
U-High may have come up short in the Division III (Select) State Championship series, but that did little to overshadow the outstanding week that Gammon put together at the plate. Across the Cubs’ three games against Newman, the talented hitter went 5-for-12 (.417) with four doubles, four runs batted in, and four runs scored. What stood out most was his advanced ability to drive the baseball to all fields regardless of pitch type or location. Gammon consistently stayed balanced through contact and showed the ability to let the ball travel while still impacting it with authority from gap-to-gap. The athletic prospect also owns a lean, projectable 6-2, 180-pound frame with plenty of room remaining to add strength and physicality in the coming years, which only boosts his long-term upside at the next level.

Jayce Ferrygood SS / RHP / Lutcher, LA / 2027Rankings StateRank: 129 / POS: 27
Ferrygood may not have the biggest frame on the field, but he consistently makes his presence felt every time he steps between the lines. In Lutcher’s State Championship series sweep of #1 seed Brusly, the dynamic playmaker went 3-for-7 (.429) with a run batted in and a run scored across the two games. At the plate, Ferrygood utilizes quick hands and a flat, level path through the zone to consistently produce line-drive contact to all fields. His speed is the carrying tool and it showed up in a big way during the series. He dropped down a drag bunt for a base hit and turned in a blazing 3.98 second home-to-first time that forced an errant throw into right field and ultimately led to a Bulldogs run. Defensively, Ferrygood also impressed with his play at third base, where his athleticism and instincts stood out throughout the weekend. He’s also capable of handling the outfield, giving him valuable defensive versatility that further strengthens his overall profile.

Brytn Gardner 1B / RHP / Sam Houston, LA / 2027Rankings StateRank: 72 / POS: 5
For the second consecutive year, Gardner got the ball in Game 3 of the State Championship series and once again rose to the occasion with another clutch postseason performance. The talented right-hander tossed four shutout innings while allowing only two hits with three walks and five strikeouts on 65 pitches. His 83-85 mph fastball featured heavy arm-side sink and run, making it especially difficult on Dutchtown’s right-handed heavy lineup to square up consistently. The real separator, however, was his outstanding 74-75 mph changeup. The pitch mirrored the action of his fastball with late fade and dive, creating deception and allowing the heater to play up even more throughout the outing. There’s a lot to be said about pitchers who consistently perform in the biggest moments, and Gardner has already built a reputation for doing exactly that early in his career.

Landree LeBlanc SS / RHP / St. Charles Catholic, LA / 2027LeBlanc first caught our attention earlier this spring and continued to impress last week during St. Charles Catholic’s run to another Division II (Select) State Championship. Across the Comets’ three games against Vandebilt Catholic, he went 3-for-8 (.375) with two doubles, three runs scored, and three walks. The athletic prospect shows present bat speed and strength at the plate with the ability to drive the baseball with authority, and there’s still plenty more power to come as he continues to physically mature. With a lean, wiry 6-2, 180-pound frame and ample room to add strength, LeBlanc offers intriguing long-term upside heading into the summer.
