Georgia Rising Stars Games: Quick Hits, Outfielders

Bryce Britt, OF/RHP, 2030, North Forsyth
At 6-foot-3 and 183 pounds, Britt had an outstanding day at the plate and on the bump today at the Georgia Rising Stars Games. Britt started his showcase with his BP round where he had a max EV of 91.3 mph. He has a very smooth swing that maintains the barrels through the whole zone and has a strong lower half that generates easy power. Moving on to Britt’s showcase game he started the game out with a PS stand-up 2B. Then in Britt’s next AB he took advantage of a FB and drove it over the LF wall for a HR. Finally, Britt ended his day on the bump where he had a strong outing. He has a strong 3-pitch mix consisting of a FB that averaged 81.1 MPH and topping out at 82.4 MPH. To pair with his firm FB he threw a nasty CH that he could consistently locate in the zone. To end his 3-pitch mix he threw a good CB that has really good depth throughout the zone. His CB averaged velos 71.2 and RPMs of 2175. Britt is a rising freshman ready to kick off his high school career at a high level.

Alex Oxendine, OF/RHP, 2030, Prince Avenue Christian
Oxendine impressed in a quick inning of work using long levers to extend down the mound and create an uncomfortable look for hitters. At 5-foot-9, 144 pounds, Oxendine has room to grow and already features a mid to high 70s cut ride heater. His SL tunnels well out of a similar slot thanks to a well-repeated over the top delivery. Late in counts, Oxendine went to his CH that he could throw in and out of the zone, generating chase and whiffs.

Knox Braun, OF/RHP, 2030, Cambridge
Braun was a stand out player all day yesterday starting in the workouts and moving later into the games. Running a 6.85, Braun showed early that his athleticism was going to separate him from the pack early, and further proved that with a max EV of 95.8. He swung it well in the game including a hard hit single to left. Braun will be a high follow in the 2030 class as he continues to fill out and mature as a high level athlete.

Sam Bell, OF/RHP, 2030, Central
Bell put together a solid day in all phases of the game. An ultra projectable frame at 6’1”, 163lbs, and clear quick-twitch instincts, Bell shows projectable actions with an already elevated floor. During the defensive workout, Bell led all OFs with an 84mph arm. Clean, fundamentally sound actions allowed Bell to maximize the long levers of his 6’1” frame. Offensively, Bell showed off a gap-to-gap approach with a line drive inducing swing. Bat speed was evident, and bat path was efficient. Bell will prove to be a very exciting follow as he continues to add strength to the frame and is a high upside rising freshman.

Aiden Mccray, OF/RHP 2030 Walker HS
At 5 foot 11 and 132 pounds McCray hadSimple mechanics at the plate and controlled ability to use the whole field. The right hand hitter was able to keep his hands inside and with great extension through the zone and shot a ball to the opposite field gap for a nice double in the showcase scrimmage. A disciplined and mature approach with a relaxed swing allowed to find quality contact. as a two-way his great athletic upside with a frame that can be built upon with the high ceiling. In the class of 2030 he's a name to keep an eye on as he continues to develop.

Jameson Strong, OF/2B, 2031, Undecided
Jameson Strong is only a 2031 and already putting up a max EV of 86.4. He is a switch with a toe-tap load and extends through the zone staying on plane for as long as he can. Strong had a solid round of BP posting stronger numbers from the left-side. He had a 1.70 10-yd split and a 7.06 60. From the OF, he chucked it out at 76 from a projectable 5-foot-8, 159-pound frame. He had a great showing in the OF with accurate throws and strong footwork. Jameson had a multi hit game working UTM and sticking to his approach. He will be a N2K in the near future.

Tyler Hall, OF/1B, 2030, Allatoona
Good showing at the plate yesterday from Hall. During BP, he was consistently hitting hard line drives to the gap. Displayed at level swing with good rhythm and flow. Hall also showed a sense of comfort in the box with minimal pre pitch movement and a slow but controlled load into his back side. During the game, Hall hit an opposite field double in the right center gap with great direction to the back side and kept a flat path through the zone. Great day at the yard for Hall.
