Senior Future Games: The Premier Showcase for Uncommitted 2027 Prospects

Each year, LakePoint Sports in Emerson, Georgia, hosts the most significant uncommitted scouting event in the nation: Future Games week. While the overarching event features emerging talent across multiple age groups—including the Future Games for 2028 graduates and the Junior Future Games for 2030 and 2031 graduates—July 21st and 22nd are distinctly reserved for the Senior Future Games.

This premier showcase brings together the top uncommitted student-athletes from the Class of 2027 nationwide. Over the course of the two-day event, players are evaluated through a comprehensive pro-style workout, followed by a highly competitive three-game series. Among the distinguished rosters in attendance is Team Carolina, which unites top-tier uncommitted talent from both North Carolina and South Carolina.

The exposure provided by the Senior Future Games is unparalleled in amateur baseball. The previous year's event drew an attendance of over 450 college coaches, and initial figures from Day 1 indicate that this year's turnout has already matched, if not exceeded, that milestone. For these prospects, the event presents a critical opportunity to demonstrate their abilities and metrics directly in front of the nation's collegiate decision-makers.

Cooper Derrick RHP / RHP / Chapin, SC / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 51 / POS: 14 Derrick continues to show the traits of a high-upside arm with an athletic, projectable 6-foot-2 frame.  The right-hander worked 87-89 mph with his fastball, showing present arm strength while flashing the ability to work the pitch to both sides of the plate, although the command varied at times.  He showed feel for all three pitches, mixing an 80 mph changeup with good separation and a 77-78 mph slider that flashed late action.  As he continues to refine his command, Derrick has all the ingredients to develop into one of the more intriguing arms in South Carolina's 2027 class.

Camden Finley OF / RHP / Clinton, SC / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 15 / POS: 2 Finley was one of the biggest winners of the event, showcasing elite athleticism and premium two-way ability.  On the mound, the right-hander worked 87-90 mph early in his outing, attacking hitters with a lively fastball while mixing in a 71 mph slider and a 77 mph changeup to keep hitters off balance.  With high-end athleticism, explosive offensive tools, and a power arm on the mound, Finley continues to establish himself as one of the premier two-way prospects in South Carolina's 2027 class.

Connor Pellerin RHP / OF / Carolina Forest, SC / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 45 / POS: 13 Pellerin put together one of the top two-way performances of the event, showcasing premium strength on both sides of the ball.  On the mound, he worked 86-89 mph with his fastball and paired it with a sharp 74-75 mph slider that flashed late bite and swing-and-miss potential.  With a physical 6-foot-1, 208-pound frame, plus raw power, and a power arm, Pellerin continues to establish himself as one of the top 2027 prospects in South Carolina.

Walker Thomason OF / RHP / Rock Hill, SC / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 44 / POS: 7 Thomason continues to cement himself as one of the top two-way prospects in South Carolina's 2027 class.  On the mound, he worked 86-88 mph with the fastball and paired it with a sharp 78-81 mph slider that flashed late bite and swing-and-miss potential.  With a physical 6-foot-2 frame, plus offensive tools, and a power arm on the mound, Thomason has one of the more complete profiles in the 2027 class.
