2026 Future Games: Day 6 Recap

LAKEPOINT, GA – Future Games Week officially came to a close on Sunday with four Junior Future Games matchups featuring Alabama's 2030 prospects. Team Alabama capped an impressive week with wins over Wisconsin and Michigan to finish gameplay a perfect 3-0, while Team Southeast battled Pennsylvania and Georgia in its final two games. With Sunday's action complete, a memorable week at LakePoint comes to an end after some of Alabama's premier prospects across multiple age groups had the opportunity to showcase their talent on the national stage.

Junior Future Games: Team Alabama

Team Alabama entered Sunday with a win already under its belt and added two more to complete a perfect run through Junior Future Games gameplay. Alabama defeated Wisconsin, 8-3, in the morning before turning around and taking down Michigan, 5-2, to finish 3-0.

The Bama Boys were one of just eight teams at the Junior Future Games to finish the week with a perfect 3-0 record.

Game 2 | Alabama 8, Wisconsin 3

Team Alabama started Sunday with an impressive 8-3 victory over Wisconsin, receiving contributions up and down the roster.

RHP/OF Kobe Embry supplied plenty of electric stuff on the mound to get the morning started. The right-hander flooded the strike zone with a fastball at 85-86 mph while pairing it with a 72-73 mph curveball and 70-71 mph changeup. Embry worked with a smooth, clean delivery and continued to show an intriguing combination of present stuff and athleticism.

MIF Kendan Thomas continued his productive week at the plate by jumping on an offering early in the count and driving a firm single into right field. Thomas consistently put together quality swings throughout the event and proved to be a catalyst for the Alabama offense.

C Dylan Harcrow delivered one of the loudest swings of the morning. The 5-foot-11, 170-pound backstop unloaded on a 97 mph double into the left-center field gap, clearing the bases and extending Team Alabama's advantage to 5-0.

RHP/SS Christian Houston also provided a quality look on the mound. The lean, athletic 5-foot-10, 140-pound right-hander worked with a long, loose arm action from a high three-quarter slot and has shown a fastball in the 80-84 mph range paired with a low-70s breaking ball.

3B Caden Kappler continued to show why there is plenty to like about his upside. The 6-foot-3, 195-pound infielder drove a loud double into the backside gap, showcasing a well-synced swing and feel for the barrel within a highly projectable frame.

MIF GG Wuis added to the offensive production with an RBI single into left-center field. One of the top prospects in Alabama's 2030 class, Wuis continued to display his smooth left-handed stroke and ability to utilize the entire field while also showing clean defensive actions in the middle of the diamond.

Game 3 | Alabama 5, Michigan 2

Team Alabama carried the momentum directly into its second game of the morning and closed out the event with a 5-2 victory over Michigan.

The most anticipated outing of the Junior Future Games came from RHP Max Kimbrell, and the rising freshman delivered some of the loudest stuff of the week.

Kimbrell operated at 89-92 mph with the fastball while pounding the strike zone with a three-pitch mix. His 74-76 mph curveball spun between 2,650-2,790 RPM, and he rounded out the arsenal with a 77-78 mph changeup featuring fading action. The right-hander moved easily down the mound with a loose arm action from a high three-quarter slot and showcased the type of high-end stuff that has established him as one of the premier 2030 prospects not only in Alabama, but nationally.

OF Kobe Embry continued his strong day by making an impact with the bat, staying on a pitch and driving a double the other way to move a runner into scoring position.

OF Zyan Marshall also added a firm single into left field. The right-handed hitter showed a balanced swing with a mostly level path through the zone to cap another quality offensive showing for Alabama.

With the victory, Team Alabama completed Junior Future Games gameplay with a perfect 3-0 record, earning wins over Connecticut, Wisconsin, and Michigan.

Junior Future Games: Team Southeast

Team Southeast returned to action Sunday afternoon for a pair of games to close out its week at LakePoint. The group battled throughout both contests but ultimately suffered a 4-3 loss to Pennsylvania before falling to Georgia, 8-6, in the finale.

Game 2 | Pennsylvania 4, Southeast 3

3B Wyatt Gregory helped get Team Southeast going early, shooting a hard-hit ball through the right side before eventually coming around to score as Southeast jumped out to an early advantage.

INF Matthew Downs also turned in quality at-bats throughout the contest. Downs got the barrel to an offering and drove it deep into the left-center field gap, narrowly missing extra bases but doing his job with a sacrifice fly.

Team Southeast continued to battle throughout the contest before ultimately coming up just short in the 4-3 defeat.

Game 3 | Georgia 8, Southeast 6

Team Southeast closed out the week with another competitive game against Georgia, battling until the end in an 8-6 loss.

MIF Noah Isensee provided one of the notable offensive performances from Alabama's representatives, ripping a one-out double down the left-field line before later coming around to score.

The 5-foot-5, 130-pound infielder continues to play above his present size with athleticism and gamer qualities that showed throughout the week.

A Memorable Week for Alabama

Sunday's final out officially brought a busy Future Games Week to a close for the state of Alabama.

Beginning with the Senior Future Games and continuing through the Future Games and Junior Future Games, Alabama was represented throughout the week by some of the state's premier prospects from the 2027 through 2030 classes.

The week provided those players with an opportunity to compete against high-level talent from across the country while showcasing their abilities on one of the biggest stages of the summer.

Team Alabama's 2030 group put the finishing touches on the week in impressive fashion, finishing Junior Future Games gameplay with a perfect 3-0 record, while numerous prospects across all four rosters delivered performances that should continue to elevate their profiles moving forward.

From the players and families to the coaches, staff, and interns who helped make the week possible, the 2026 Future Games Week provided another memorable showing for the Yellowhammer State.
