Team Maryland began their three-game set vs. Team Florida on Saturday night. A low-scoring affair, Team Maryland had its hands full facing off against a potent roster from the Sunshine State. Team Florida took an early 1-0 lead in the 1st, as Team Maryland stormed back to tie it up in the 2nd, headlined by a 1-out double off the bat of Logan VanWagenen and a bases-loaded RBI walk by Landen Williams. In the 5th, Team Maryland would scratch across another run to take the 2-1 lead, and that is where the score would hold, as Maryland defeated Team Florida by a score of 2-1. Lights out pitching performances from Paxton McWhorter (3 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 3 K's) and Matt Johnson (2 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 2 K's).
