Junior Future Games: Team Wisconsin Takeaways

With the 2026 Junior Future Games behind us, our staff is taking a look at all of the names from the Team Wisconsin roster, and highlighting their performances at the event.

Team Wisconsin finished the week 1-2, taking down Pennsylvania and falling to Virginia and Alabama. We've already released game recaps and statistical analysis stories from the event, which can be found below:

Within this Takeaways piece, our staff made mention of each player's workout day, along with their in-game performance.

+ INF/RHP Parker Meunier (Oconto Falls, 2030) proved to be a name to keep an eye on in Wisconsin's 2030 class, showcasing athletic movements in the middle of the infield and putting on one of the more consistent performances at the plate, acheiving a top EV of 88 during the workout portion, and putting up multiple 90+ EV's during gameplay, picking up three hits in as many games played while showing consistent feel for the barrel and adjustability on the infield to pair. Quick hands, strong barrel, gap-to-gap tendencies.

+ INF/RHP Easton Fleck (Middleton, 2030) provided a quality two way look, acheiving a peak EV of 88 mph during the workout portion, as well as getting the start on the mound in Game Two against Team Alabama. On the mound, Fleck provided a strong outing, throwing two scoreless, hitless innings while utilizing a three pitch mix including a fastball in the low-to-mid 70's, a high spin breaking ball, acheiving an average spin rate of 2,342 rpm, and a changeup that killed spin with arm side fade. 

+ INF Westyn Kaschub (Sussex Hamilton, 2030) looked the part throughout the week. Measuring in at an athletic 5-foot-10, 150-pounds, Kaschub showcased hitterish tendencies throughout the weak, acheiving an average hand speed of 22.6 mph and a peak exit velocity of 90.5 during the workout portion of the event. This transitioned into game play where he proved to be a difficult out, showcasing present bat to ball and minimal swing and miss. Adjustable up the middle of the infield, two hand gather, ability to make accurate throws from multiple angles. 

+ C/INF Max Ruppelt (Muskego, 2030) proved to be a versatile athlete on both sides of the ball. Behind the plate, Ruppelt exhibits strong hands and feel to block. The same athleticism translates to the infield, where he showcases the ability to move cleanly to both sides with soft hands. At the plate, Ruppelt showcased a level swing with line drive tendencies. Measuring in at an athletic 5-foot-9, 141-pounds, these tools will only continue to improve with added strength.

+ INF/RHP Jack Wians (Franklin, 2030) showed to be efficient on the mound for Team Wisconsin, throwing 1.1 scoreless innings out of the bullpen without allowing a free pass and collecting a strikeout. Working with feel for a three-pitch mix, with the fastball working in the mid-to-upper 70's, Wians will be a name to keep an eye on as he continues to add strength. 

+ INF/RHP Konnor Kilinski (Wausau West, 2030) measuring in at an athletic 5-foot-10, 159-pounds, Kilinski showcased present bat-to-ball and adjustability at the plate, allowing a whole field approach. Across three games, he collected two hits, including a double to right field, while also driving in three runs. On the mound, Kilinski struck out four batters in 1.2 innings of work, showcasing a repeatable delivery and feel to throw strikes. 

+ OF/1B Hudson Fox (Whitefish Bay, 2030) measured in at a long-levered 5-foot-11, 151-pounds with room for added strength. Collecting three hits in as many games, Fox showcased a simple LH swing with a gap-to-gap approach and adjustability that played in game. Raw athlete that will only continue to improve with added strength. 

+ OF/LHP Beau Schur Jr. (Wauwatosa East, 2030) showed true two-way potential, getting the start on the mound in Game Three and providing two strong innings of work without allowing an earned run. Utilizing a three pitch mix, Schur Jr. showcased a fastball that sat in the high 70's, peaking at 82.7 mph. In the outfield, Schur Jr. started an 8-2 double play, cutting down a run at the plate. At the plate, a compact RH swing allows for a line-drive approach, best showcased in Game Two with a line-drive base hit to right-center field. 

+ OF/LHP Wyatt Hotchkiss (Wisconsin Lutheran, 2030) measured in at a physical 5-foot-10, 183-pounds, and proved to be one of the premier athletes in Wisconsin's 2030 class. With present strength throughout the frame, Hotchkiss also ran a 6.88 60-yard during the workout portion of the event and acheived a peak exit velo of 98 mph. Simple mover on the mound, throwing one inning in relief in the Game Three victory, utilizing a three pitch mix, with the fastball working in the upper 70's, and topping out at 81.7 mph. 

+ OF Tyler Kelenic (Catholic Memorial, 2030) measured in at 6-foot, 170-pounds and looked the part in the outfield throughout gameplay, with athletic actions and quality reads. At the plate, Kelenic acheived a peak exit velo of 91 mph, with a smooth, adjustable LH swing that produced consistent quality at bats throughout gameplay. With baseball success in the family, strength and athleticism will continue to come as Kelenic matures. 

+ 1B/LHP Anthony Ramirez (Greendale, 2030) provided an intriguing look throughout, acheiving a peak exit velo of 96 mph and a peak distance of 360 feet during the workout portion of the event. In gameplay, Ramirez showed adjustability throughout, with a strong LH barrel and feel to lift. His gameplay was capitalized with a bases clearing double in the third and final game of the week. On the mound, Ramirez competes with feel for a four pitch mix out of a balanced, repeatable setup. 

+ C/INF Hayden Jones (DeForest, 2030) measured in at 6-foot-1, 213-pounds with strength throughout the frame that played on both sides of the ball. At the plate, Jones showcased a strong barrel that plays, with an average bat speed of 71 mph that translated into a peak exit velo of 102 mph and a peak distance of 372 feet during the showcase portion of the event. This translated into game play, where Jones put up consistent quality at bats, showing feel for the barrel, and acheiving a peak EV of 102 in game. Hard worker behind the plate with advanced receiving ability and instincts to block. Strong catch and throw to pair, acheiving a peak pop time of 2.00 during the workout portion of the event, and cutting down a would-be base stealer at third base during Game Three. Name to follow. 

+ C/INF Chris Worrell Jr. (Oak Creek, 2030) continued to look like one of the top 2030's in the country, showcasing strong ability at multiple defensive positions as well as a hit tool that plays well beyond his years. Balanced in the box with a strong barrel that stays in the zone, resulting in consistent hard contact to all fields. Worrell acheived a peak exit velocity of 97.2 mph and a peak distance of 382 feet during the workout portion of the event, which translated into multiple 90+ EV's in game, lining a ball to right field at 98.7 mph off the bat in the first swing he took in Game One. Defense stands out behind the plate, with soft hands and strong catch and throw to pair, acheiving a peak pop time of 1.87 during the workout portion of the event. Young for the class, Worrell is a name to follow as he begins his prep career. 

+ RHP/INF Chase Kramer (Neenah, 2030) measured in at a strong 6-foot-3, 203-pounds. Getting the start on the mound in Game One against Team Virginia, Kramer provided four strong innings of work, striking out five batters without allowing a free pass while showcasing feel for three pitches, utilizing a fastball in the mid-upper 70's topping out at 83 mph, as well as a slider and a changeup that were thrown for strikes. Workhorse frame with feel for the zone, Kramer is a name to follow in the 2030 class.
