Prep Baseball Report

Nebraska Daily Roundup- Friday, May 1st

Pascal Paul
State Director, Prep Baseball Nebraska

The 2026 high school baseball season is underway and, as usual, excitement is present throughout Nebraska. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across the Cornhusker State.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons at Werner Park at the NSAA championship games, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to shine a spotlight on all teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Nebraska.

Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state.

Each week we will be releasing our Power Rankings, Scout Blog, Diamond Notes, and Player of The Week, covering all the bases across the state of Nebraska.

NOTE: All scores listed above were provided by MaxPreps. Games not included were either not listed on MaxPreps or did not have a reported final score at the time of publication.

NOTES-

+ Lincoln East’s Santino Arranaga punched out 12 across five shutout innings in the Don Kraft Semifinal, overpowering hitters with swing-and-miss stuff.

+ Omaha Westside’s Ben Weiss went the distance, spinning a complete-game (7 IP) one-run effort, allowing minimal traffic while striking out two and walking one.

+ Skutt Catholic’s Cooper Smith led the charge at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs to power Skutt to a River Cities Championship.

Note: All stat lines obtains from X and GameChanger. Coaches will be able to submit weekly standout stat lines for our Player & Pitcher of the Week submissions.
