Welcome to the IHSA Daily Roundup, where our Prep Baseball Illinois staff will provide readers with scores, game recaps, and highlights from the games that took place the day before. In conjunction with our comprehensive in-game coverage throughout the 2026 season, we’ll publish this Daily Roundup to keep readers informed on the latest happenings across the state.
We obtain most of our scores by following teams on GameChanger, as well as through MaxPreps and Twitter. Coaches are also able to submit their own team’s box scores to us via email at [email protected], or through our IHSA Submitted Scores form, which they’re able to request by emailing our staff or by sending a us a DM over Twitter. The Vikings offense was led by Sean Popp (2026; Oakton CC Commit), who went 2-for-3 with a triple, double, hit by pitch, stolen base, run scored, and four RBIs. Orlando Vazquez (2026) went 2-for-3 with two singles, a run scored, and three RBIs. Cory Les (2026; Louisville Commit) played the long ball in this contest with a solo home run while also recording a hit by pitch, walk, stolen base, three runs scored, and two RBIs. Evan Panther and Ryan Lotus (2027) both hit RBI doubles to get on the RBI board. John Strzechowski (2026; Lake Land JC Commit) tossed four innings and struck out five batters. Kentucky commit Tristan Steger (2027) went 2-for-2 with a double, while Lewis commit Daniel Coyle (2026) was 1-for-2 with two RBIs.

No. 2 Normal Community shut out Danville 11-0. Beckett Weber (2026), Lucas Beaty (2027), and Owen Weaver each led the Ironmen offense with three RBIs of the contest. Weber hit an RBI groundout and two-run triple, Beaty with two RBI singles and a sacrifice fly, and Weaver with a bases-clearing triple to end the game. As a result of that, the Ironmen threw a six-inning combined no-hitter with three pitchers. Oliver Vercruysse (2027) tossed 3.2 innings and struck out four batters. Drew Stevens (2026; Valparaiso Commit) then delivered 1.1 innings and two strikeouts, and Owen Weaver pitched the sixth inning and struck out one of the three batters he faced. On a side note, Gavin Michaels (2026; Cincinnati Commit) hit two singles and stole three bases in this game.

Casey Mikrut (2027) went 3-for-4 with three singles, a stolen base, run scored, and an RBI. Jacob Newman (2026; Lewis Commit) knocked in an RBI single while Matt Ritter (2028) came off the bench and hit an RBI double during this contest. Bryson Das (2026) threw three innings out of the bullpen and struck out six batters.

The Caravan offense was led by Joey Ireland (2026; Illinois Commit), who went 2-for-5 with an RBI double and the two-run home run that proved to be the game winner. Brady Holland (2026; Georgetown Commit) added the insurance run in the sixth inning on his RBI single. TJ McQuillan (2026; Wake Forest Commit) also had himself a game with two singles, a walk, and three stolen bases. Connor Elenteny (2026; Notre Dame Commit) pitched a complete game and struck out nine batters in his seven innings of work.

Tanner Toback (2027) drove in two RBIs on his two-run double. Jacob DeVinney (2026; St. Mary's (MN) Commit), Eric Acevedo (2027), and Jeremiah Aguiniga (2026) all knocked in RBI singles to put themselves on the board. Paris Head (2029) had a day as well when he hit two singles, stole two bags, and scored two runs. JJ Stoner started the day on the mound with three shutout innings and three punchouts. Donovan Yoest (2026) also punched out three batters in his two-inning relief outing.
