Updated Class of 2029 Player Rankings (March)

Throughout the winter we were all over the state, scouting numerous prospects and seeing many new names come to the forefront of the recruiting scene. With that information, we are updating each of our class rankings based off what we have seen.

As the spring season gets underway around the state, we will take a look at some names to know follow from the latest update.

Who's At The Top

Kellen Alexander 1B / RHP / Brother Rice, MI / 2029

Report: Alexander remains at the top of the list for the 2029 class update as we head into the spring season. Alexander is expected to gain some valuable innings for the Warriors this coming spring as Brother Rice looks to make another deep postseason run at the end of May.

Notable Newcomers

Nathan Gordon OF / LHP / De LA Salle Collegiate High School, MI / 2029

Report: Gordon jumps into the top 10 as he put together an impressive 2025 campaign and was a standout this winter for the 2029 class. Athletic profile with a smooth left handed stroke at a young age - Gordon looks to gain experience this spring now at the HS level. 

Cameron Meyer C / 3B / Byron Center High School, MI / 2029

Report: One of the top backstops in the 2029 class & from Byron Center who continues to produce a number of quality players over the last several years - another left handed hitting catcher with improving catch and throw - Meyer is one to keep an eye on in this class.

Drew Reece C / 1B / Lansing Catholic, MI / 2029

Report: Reece has made notable strides and progress from 2025 to 2026 with added strength & improved swing mechanics. Reece is coming off an appearance at the Junior Future Games last July and will play a big role for LCHS this spring behind the plate. 

Nathan Shipley LHP / C / South Lyon High School, MI / 2029

Report: Shipley jumps into our extended rankings as we initially saw him at the Michigan Bulls Scout Day in February. The southpaw was up to 83 and shows some projectability with a 6’2 frame as freshman at South Lyon - Shipley will be one we will follow closely over the next few months.
