X-FACTOR
INF Isaac Teisl (2026; Wisconsin-Parkside commit) currently ranked No. 83 in the Badger State’s senior class goes into this spring season off of an impressive junior campaign where he hit .341 with a .476 on base percentage. With expected freshman impact, Teisl will be an important piece of the puzzle for this Mukwonago squad, bringing past success and veteran leadership to this group. A performer at the Wisconsin State Games this past summer, Teisl showed a quick bat, achieving a top exit velocity of 98.3 MPH with 72.5 MPH average bat speed. All in all, Teisl will look to play a big role in this Indians team winning another Classic 8 championship.
NEWCOMER TO WATCH
RHP Cooper Graham (2029) and C Braedon Paczocha (2028) currently ranked No.1 overall in the state for their classes respectively, will bring young firepower to this Indians squad. Graham represented Team Wisconsin at the Junior Future Games this past summer, and has continued to progress, with a peak fastball velocity of 92 MPH at the recent South Milwaukee PID. Paczocha brings advanced instincts behind the plate to pair with an impressive bat. A performer at the Wisconsin State Games this past summer, Paczocha achieved a top exit velocity of 97.5 MPH to pair with a top pop time of 1.94 behind the plate. These two young top prospects in the state will look to have a big impact on the success of this Mukwonago squad for the near future.
TEAM OUTLOOK
Ben Miller did not ease into the head coaching job at Mukwonago. In his first season at the helm, Miller guided the Indians to a 21-7 record and a share of the Classic 8 Conference title alongside Arrowhead, a result that few outside the program saw coming in 2025. The Classic 8 is routinely regarded as the toughest conference in Wisconsin, which makes the co-championship all the more significant, especially considering that Muk hadn't won even a share of a baseball conference title in over 30 years.
Now, with a full offseason to build on that foundation, Miller enters 2026 tasked with reloading a roster that saw some of its most productive bats walk out the door with the graduating class. Two-way stud Adam Kudronowicz, who hit .432 with 24 RBIs a season ago before signing with Iowa Western JC is the most glaring loss. OF Braedon Vogds, who slashed .395 with 17 RBIs, and middle infielder Tristan Wojciechowski, who contributed a .333 average across 110 plate appearances, also departed.
That is a substantial amount of run production to account for.
The most important returning bat is 3B Isaac Teisl (2026; UW-Parkside), a senior whose .341 average, 27 runs scored and 15 walks a season ago made him one of the more patient and productive pieces in Mukwonago's lineup. Teisl's ability to get on base and manufacture runs will be critical in a lineup that Miller himself acknowledges will need to find its offensive footing. Alongside him, C/OF Tyler Smeiska (2027) is a player this staff believes is ready to take a significant step forward. Smeiska hit .288 with 13 RBIs last spring while juggling roles, and his athleticism gives Miller genuine lineup flexibility. He was one of the top performers in the state's junior class this winter at our events.
SS Carson Greuel (2026; College of Lake County) logged 46 plate appearances as an underclassman in 2025 and posted a .179 average, but his value up the middle on defense is already established. The question for Greuel heading into his senior year is whether he can close the gap offensively and absorb some of the production the departing class took with it. INF Gavin Reilly (2027) emerged as one of the more impressive players on the preseason circuit this winter and his right-handed bat figures to provide an immediate boost to the middle of Mukwonago's order. INF/RHP Ayden Andrysczyk (2027) also returns, bringing versatility on both sides of the ball after a limited 2025 debut. C Braedon Paczocha (2028) rounds out the core of the returning position players as one of the most advanced receivers in the state regardless of class, and any offensive production he delivers as a sophomore in the Classic 8 will be a genuine bonus for a lineup searching for contributors.
If Mukwonago is going to repeat as Classic 8 champions, the pitching staff is where the case gets built. RHP Ben Jones (2026; UW-Parkside) is the anchor, and by virtually any measure he is one of the top returning arms in the conference. The 6-foot-2, 220-pound senior gives Miller a slam-dunk No. 1 option at the top of the rotation, and that kind of certainty is invaluable on a team replacing so many other contributors. Behind Jones, RHP/OF Caden Baker (2027) is the candidate Miller is counting on to emerge as a true No. 2 starter. Baker has the arm talent to do it, and if he takes that step, Mukwonago would suddenly own one of the better pitching duos in the area. Beyond those two, the bullpen depth is real. Coach Miller listed senior RHP/OF Preston Ciurro, Reilly, RHP/1B Cooper Graham (2029), INF/RHP Will Rueling (2027) and Andrysczyk as projected relievers, giving him multiple options to manage innings. Graham, the top-ranked freshman in the state entering 2026, might be eased in here but he has a mound presence that's well beyond his years. Graham pitches with poise and ease that leads to repeat strikes, not to mention he sat 90-92 mph in a 'pen for us in early March with multiple secondaries. His emergence could be a true weapon by the postseason.
Expectedly, the schedule will not offer much margin for error. Any Classic 8 matchup this spring will feel like a must-win, and one of their most important conference series starts as early as April 21 against Arrowhead, the team they split last year's conference crown with.
Miller is building something here, and the combination of a proven pitching staff, athletic defense, and a group of underclassmen ready to contribute ahead of schedule gives the Indians a real chance to compete at the top of the conference again. Now, the expecations here are high and this program is no longer sneaking up on anyone in southeastern Wisconsin.
BOTTOM LINE
If senior ace Jones anchors the rotation and Baker develops into a starter to help stabilize their innings lost from last year, Mukwonago has the pitching and defensive identity to win the Classic 8 outright in 2026, and if you win the Classic 8, that means you're also a heavyweight in the state title scene.
