2026 WA Scout Blog - Kentridge, North Creek, Glacier Peak, Woodinville
March 13, 2026
The 2026 Washington Scout Blog provides information and scouting notes from Prep Baseball staff during the WIAA season. The running blog will feature information on underclass prospects, unsigned seniors, draft prospects and other notable performers. The Scout Blog is compiled of content and information gathered only from Prep Baseball staff. All featured games in the Scout Blog were attended by staff.
So far, the 2026 spring season has been mostly cold and definitely wet. Rain and frigid temperatures are making for less than ideal conditions as teams begin competing but alas, if the games are being played then we will be doing our best to be there.
The first week of action had us checking out 2 evening match-ups under the lights. On Wednesday we were over at North Creek as they battled visiting Kentridge and then Thursday night we saw host Woodinville against Glacier Peak
Kentridge vs North Creek (3.11.26)
Kentridge
Uncommitted ‘27 RHP Akoni Nazarino got the ball for Kentridge on this one and the returning Ace was stellar in a 3 inning appearance. He punched out 7 total batters while allowing 3 hits and working around 3 BB. Attacked the outer half with his FB at 83-85 and paired that with a quality SL in the low 70s. We’ve seen a 4 pitch mix in the past but on this look it seemed like the SL was the main secondary and he really commanded it well in tougher conditions. Nazarino topped at 86.3 at a recent indoor workout prior to the spring. One of the more polished and consistent uncommitted junior arms in the class.

After Nazarino, Kentridge got 3 quality innings from ‘28 Beckham Gerber. He allowed only 1 H and a BB while keeping North Creek off the scoreboard. Doesn’t overwhelm with velocity or pure stuff but deserves a ton of credit for competing on a night where it couldn’t have been fun to grip a baseball.
At the end, hanging onto a 5-2 lead, Kentridge gave the ball to ‘26 Manny Harris who was literally unhittable for his inning of work. He struck out all 3 batters he faced with a riding FB at 81-83 and threw arguably one of the best breaking balls we’ve ever seen in game with a tight, sweeping offering at 70-73. Truly has a next level strikeout pitch and overall brings an athletic L/L profile to the mound. Uncommitted senior that teams need to know about.
Offensively, Kentridge did all of their damage in a 5 run 5th inning. ‘26 INF Ricardo del Fierro broke the game open when it was tied 2-2 with a clutch 3 RBI triple with the bases loaded. He drove a FB on the outer 3rd to deep RCF and it turned out to be the difference in the game.

Elsewhere, seniors Josh Lueck (Edmonds CC) and the previously mentioned Manny Harris both contributed hits and runs scored with Harris also adding a game-tying RBI. ‘26 OF Brendyn Malapitan also went 2-3 with a run scored and undoubtedly made the biggest defensive play of the game as well. In Bottom 5, North Creek had a runner on with 2 outs when ‘27 Aidan Kim (North Creek) barreled one into left-center that was surely destined to hit turf and extend the inning for the Jaguars while also cutting into their deficit. But Malapitan had a beat on the line drive the whole time and never broke stride into extending out for a majestic diving catch to end the inning. If momentum is a thing, Kentridge was riding high after the 5 run inning and web gem and they carried that confidence throughout the final 2 innings as they secured the W.
‘28 INF Levi Baca also had a nice game offensively for the Chargers going 1-3 with a R, RBI and HBP. He tied the game in T5 with a hard RBI single and then in his final AB added another line drive into left but was robbed of a hit on a nice shoe string catch by LF.

North Creek
Uncommitted ‘27 RHP Alex Yamada got the ball for North Creek and showed some impressive stuff and upside. Came out firing FBs at 83-84 from a high ¾ slot and paired the heater with a tight 10/4 breaking ball at 72-73. Overall he has a clean, continuous arm action with a longer, more extended path. Given his frame and how the arm works, could easily see his velocity continue to climb this spring and he’s certainly an arm in the class who has what it takes to pitch after HS.

Offensively it was a tough night for North Creek with only 3 total hits spread across 3 different players. The previously mentioned ‘27 Aidan Kim swung the bat exceptionally well though. Finished 1-2 with a 2B and BB and would have very easily had another 2B and RBI if not for the defensive ability of Malapitan. But overall Kim showed a mature presence in the box with confidence and sound swing decisions. Would expect him to have a strong spring season based on what he showed this week.
Uncommitted ‘27 SS Maddox Keim is another junior to watch. He finished 1-2 with a RBI and BB while handling SS duties really effectively on a tough night. Quality sized athlete who moves well with solid arm strength from the left-side.
Glacier Peak vs Woodinville (3.12.26)
Glacier Peak
The pitching for Glacier Peak was a key reason for the 3-2 on this look vs Woodinville. Playing through a steady, highly annoying drizzle of rain with temps in the low 40s, the Grizzlies got gutsy performances from ‘26 Cole Mueller (Shoreline) and ‘27 Emmett Brown to help lock up the victory.
Mueller got the start and went for 3 innings, allowing an ER while punching out 3. The strongly built senior has a simplified delivery from the stretch and drives through the baseball out front at release. FB showed heavy life at 82-84 and he used a consistent, repeatable SL at 70-72 for strikes in any count. Overall he competed really well and pitched out of some jams where the game could have gotten out of control early. Poised senior leader.

After Mueller, ‘27 Emmett Brown spun 4 crisp innings and also showed some moxie while stranding runners in crucial spots. Across his 12 outs he only allowed 1 H with 2 BB and punching out 6 hitters and keeping Woodinville off the board. FB was 82-84 on this look from a ¾ release with tight, compact arm action out front. SL at 69-72 was his primary offering and he showed a willingness to use it in any count. Throws the SL with conviction and understands how to land it for strikes or expand when he needs a K.

Offensively, Glacier Peak capitalized on some freebies and defensive miscues to produce their runs. Only 4 total hits in the game, all singles, for the Grizzlies.
Senior Kaleb Bishop swung it the best on this look going 2-3 with 2 hard hit baseballs. The physical 1B has a stronger frame with shorter, more compact levers and maintains a tight swing when attacking the baseball.
Woodinville
The Falcons had a tough time generating offense under the lights and were held to 4 total hits. 3 of which game from ‘26 INF Kyson Kleve. Kleve went 3-4, 2B, RBI and overall put quality swings on the ball with consistent contact on the barrel. Uses a ‘handsy’ type swing with more of a direct path and was able to work back-side/middle of the field easily thanks to his willingness to let the ball travel and hands that stay inside of the baseball.

2 knocks shown here. An oppo 2B and then a RBI single up the middle

On the mound, ‘26 RHP Jayden Bury (Olympic CC) was terrific across 4 innings. Only allowing 1 H, BB and generating 5 strikeouts. Only needed 58 pitches to get through his outing. Overall he showed a consistent mix of his arsenal and has the skills to manipulate speeds while working to all parts of the zone. FB has arm-side run at 81-84 and pairs with 11/5 CB at 70-73 and straight CH at 77-78. Utilizes consistent body control and a short, tight arm action and athletic finish.
