Over the next few weeks, leading up to the beginning of the 2026 MD High School season, our staff will be releasing our Preseason Power 25. This list will be comprised of public and private schools across the state that we feel have a strong chance of being successful in 2026.

#18 Stephen Decatur Seahawks   

The usual powerhouse of the Bayside finds itself at #18 headed into the spring as the expectations are set a little lower than previous years. An explosive offense is on the horizon once again with the lineup filled with collegiate level hitters, but the biggest question will be the execution of the pitching staff as they lose their safety blanket in Nate Berzonski. Most of the arms in the rotation have limited experience as starters in competitive high school games, so Coach Ferro will hope that he can maximize production from four impactful seniors and a group of young underclassmen. However, we still project Decatur to be a dominant team once again.
