As we look back on the 2025 summer tournament circuit here in Kansas City, we’ll be breaking down the top players by tool from each class based on evaluations from our scouting team at Homefield and Creekside. Follow along as we take a deep dive into these players and highlight the summers they put together. Each week will feature our top five players based on each tool from the class, presented in no particular order.
Top Off-Speed Class of 2026

Tucker Thompson LHP / OF / Gardner-Edgerton, KS / 2026

Thompson is one of the top pitching recruits in the country and earned a spot on our top fastball list thanks to his movement and reported velocity now up to 95 MPH. He’s so effective because of the angles he creates from his arm slot, generating heavy run on the fastball and significant lateral movement on the slider.
His slider is what landed him on our top off-speed list, as it’s extremely difficult for hitters on both sides to square up. To right-handed hitters, it sweeps across like a frisbee and plays deceptively quick because of the angle. For lefties, it often starts inside before darting across the zone, forcing uncomfortable swings and chase. Averaging around 2,300 RPMs at 82 MPH, the combination of spin and velocity makes it a true swing-and-miss pitch.
