2026 High School Team Preview: Wesleyan Wolves

Ian Smith
Assistant Scouting Director

The 2026 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Georgia.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in the GHSA or GIAA state playoffs, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Georgia. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and by continuing our scheduled podcasts and releasing our preseason top-10 rankings in each GHSA classification and Power 25.

Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state.

Each week we will be releasing our Players of the Week, updating the top-10 ranks in each GHSA classification, as well updating our Power 25 overall rankings. One thing, especially, you don’t want to miss are our scheduled podcasts with guests from across the state, as well as the recaps and previews of the big games we’re covering.

*Please note the information has been gathered from head coaches across the state, based on their replies to the questionnaire we distributed over this offseason.

TEAM OUTLOOK

With a deep, close-knit group of upperclassmen returning paired with an influx of high-level young talent stepping up, Coach Pope and the Wolves have the pieces in place to make another run to the final four this spring. Front end pitching will be a strength for Wesleyan this spring with two returning starters in the rotation in senior RHP Thomas Pressman and Junior RHP/INF Maddox McCollum, who grew into a key piece for this team last year and brings one of the highest floors on both sides of the ball. Having a 1-2 punch at the top of a rotation remains invaluable in handling competitive region play. Big-time experience and talent throughout the lineup with 4 seniors reprising starting roles and some junior talent poised to have a bigger impact. Seniors OF Brice Gillis and OF Coleman Eldridge lead the outfield while offering the Wolves a power/speed combination alongside quality gloves in the grass, while junior OF Quin Brown has a chance to round it out with an all-around profile that grew in strides throughout 2025. Senior SS Carter Hayes has been a fixture in the infield and will be one of the unquestioned leaders for this team as an OBP machine with a consistent above-average glove in the dirt. Another senior in 3B/2B Knox Bingham can fill multiple roles while providing a power/speed threat in the lineup and look for junior INF Ethan King to emerge as a key piece for this team in 2026 with high level bat-to-ball skills. For the depth of upperclass talent this team shows, a trio of freshmen could show themselves as key X-factors this spring. RHP/OF Hudson Pursell has shown as the highest-level on the youth circuit with tremendous projection in the 6-foot-1 frame that can provide immediate impact on the mound with future starting outfield upside. The twin duo of RHP/OF Greysen Radics and RHP/UTL Carter Radics hold impact tools right now with whippy arm strength that plays on the mound and multiple positions in the field. Easy to see this team being ready to match 23 wins from a year ago with even higher upside.
