Prep Baseball Tennessee Staff

The Tennessee Diamond Notes is back for 2026 and will focus on highlighting some top performances across the state based on nominations from high school coaches. We will highlight those positions players, pitchers and two-way players every Wednesday of the high school season that are deserving to be highlighted based on their performance. 

Thanks to the many high school coaches that sent in nominations this week.

For now, let's take a look at those players from across the state highlighted in this week's Tennessee Diamond Notes.

TENNESSEE DIAMOND NOTES: WEEK 4

+ Caleb Naffzinger (UTL, Evangelical Christian School) had a huge week at the plate, going 9-for-15, highlighted by a 5-for-5 performance with two home runs, including an inside-the-park shot.

+ Keaton Anderson (UTL, Clarksville HS) produced at a high level, hitting .636 with a 1.531 OPS, collecting 12 hits including multiple extra-base hits and driving in eight runs.

+ JR Mathis (UTL, Battle Creek HS) went 9-for-17 (.529) with a strong mix of extra-base hits, including four doubles, a triple, and a home run.

+ Mikee Teasley (RHP, Oak Ridge HS) delivered a dominant two-way performance, throwing a no-hitter with 14 strikeouts while also hitting .667 with 10 RBIs at the plate.

+ Case Daly (UTL, Giles County HS) contributed on both sides, hitting .364 with speed on the bases while also earning a win with seven innings and seven strikeouts on the mound.

+ Tommy Baker (UTL, South Gibson HS) had an explosive week, hitting .583 with two home runs, 14 RBIs, and five stolen bases, showcasing elite offensive production.

+ Bentley Edwards (RHP, Boyd-Buchanan HS) was dominant on the mound, throwing a complete-game shutout with nine strikeouts while allowing just two hits.

+ Aaron Hise (UTL, Boyd-Buchanan HS) went 9-for-21 (.429) with five extra-base hits and nine RBIs, providing consistent offensive impact.

+ Harrison Metoyer (RHP, Lake County HS) threw a complete-game two-hitter with 11 strikeouts, leading his team to a 3-2 victory.

+ Brody Choate (UTL, Alvin C. York HS) had a monster week, hitting .714 with multiple extra-base hits and eight RBIs, consistently producing at the plate.

+ Preston Sumner (UTL, Collierville HS) hit .467 with a 1.171 OPS, collecting seven hits and driving in eight runs.

+ Brady Sumner (UTL, Collierville HS) delivered big power numbers, hitting .444 with two home runs and 12 RBIs, posting a strong 1.389 OPS.

+ Alex Potter (RHP, Dickson County HS) was dominant in a complete-game effort, striking out 15 with no walks over seven innings.

+ Caleb Koffman (UTL, Providence Christian Academy) hit .545 with a home run and a triple, including driving in the game-winning run against Webb.

+ Matok Delk (RHP, Providence Christian Academy) threw 6.2 dominant innings, allowing just one hit with no earned runs.

+ Jayden Hathcock (LHP, Cascade HS) earned a win with a complete-game one-hitter, striking out eight and walking just one against rival Forrest.
