PREP BASEBALL LOUISIANA POWER 25 RANKINGS (WEEK 6 UPDATE)

The Louisiana high school baseball season kicked off on Monday February 9, 2026 with regular season action beginning under LHSAA regulations. Leading up to opening day, we published our team previews ahead of the 2026 spring season, touching on programs spanning all classifications, counting down through the official Prep Baseball Louisiana Preseason Power 25 Rankings.

Since Opening Day, our scouts have been out and about covering the 2026 season and will be publishing scout blogs and additional in-season content, such as our Power 25 updates, Player of the Week awards, Scout Blogs, Diamond Notes, and more.

The Top 5

There was little movement in our Power 25 Rankings this week and Barbe checks in at the top spot again after going 3-0 last week to improve to 23-1 on the year. The Bucs beat New Iberia and then swept Lafayette in two close, low scoring games.  

Brother Martin stays at the #2 spot this week after another impressive 4-0 week to push their overall record to 23-2. The Crusaders beat St. Paul's and Warren Easton, before a two game sweep of Archbishop Rummel to remain undefeated in district play. 

Catholic BR got back on track in Week 6 by winning all four of their games and now sit at 21-2 overall. Freshman Jack Stokes made a statement last week by going 4-for-5 (.800) with 3 home runs and 6 runs batted in.

Benton improved their overall record to 18-2-2 ater winning all three of their games last week. The Tigers swept Captain Shreve and beat Haughton to remain undefeated in district play. 

Sam Houston moves up a spot to #5 after going 3-0 last week to improve their overall record to 18-6 on the year. Senior Carson Christ had a big week for the Broncos at the plate. The uncommitted senior went 7-for-12 (.583) with 2 home runs, 4 runs batted in, and 6 runs scored.

 

Risers

 + Zachary moves up our Power 25 Rankings this week all the way to #6 after going 3-0 last week with a big come-from-behind win over Northshore last Tuesday night. Senior Braden Sanders went 6-for-9 with a home run, 2 doubles, 6 runs batted in, and 4 stolen bases. His home run was a go-ahead grand slam in the top of the 7th inning against Northshore.

+ Hahnville jumps back into the Power 25 Rankings at the #14 spot after a big Week 6, which included a two-game sweep over a really good Vandebilt Catholic club. Junior Landen Teague went 7-for-12 (.583) with a home run, 2 doubles, 1 triple, and 7 runs batted in for the Tigers.

+ Central BR has been one of the hottest teams in the state, which is why they're back in the Power 25 Rankings this week at #18. The Wildcats have won eleven straight games and they picked up four wins last week with two big ones over Parkview Baptist and Northshore.
