2026 MSHSAA Team Preview: Winnetonka Griffins

Prep Baseball Missouri Staff

The Missouri high school baseball season kicks off on Mar. 19, opening day for regular season action under MSHSAA regulations. Leading up to opening day, we’ll be publishing our team previews ahead of the 2026 spring season, touching on programs spanning all state classifications, counting down to the official Prep Baseball Missouri Preseason Power 25 Rankings.

Perennially, we’ve submitted a preseason questionnaire to high school head coaches across the entire state. Their responses have been flooding in and we’re using the detailed insight they’ve provided in our team-by-team preseason analysis.

Our 2026 preseason coverage continues today.

Coach’s Insight: “Our biggest strength is experience and continuity. We return nearly our entire pitching staff along with seven varsity starters, giving us a strong foundation on both the mound and the lineup. That experience brings leadership and chemistry. With proven arms and position players who have competed at the varsity level, we expect consistency, confidence and the ability to compete every day. Despite returning a strong core of starters, our biggest weakness is overall depth at several key positions. While our frontline experience is a strength, we will rely heavily on younger players to step into larger roles and compete to earn playing time. Developing that depth and having underclassmen rise to the challenge will be critical to our success this season.” – Troy Sielaff, head coach
