Inside This Week’s Power 25
New No. 1 – DH Conley
DH Conley moves to the top spot after scheduling aggressively to open the season and delivering strong early results. The Vikings own impressive wins over Wake Forest and Cardinal Gibbons, validating their preseason expectations and early-season form.
Cuthbertson Makes a Big Jump
Cuthbertson climbs from No. 11 to No. 5 after taking two of three in a series against Charlotte Catholic. The Cavaliers came within outs of a state finals appearance in 2025, and early in 2026 the lineup has shown its offensive depth while the pitching staff answered some preseason questions.
Charlotte Christian Tested Early
Charlotte Christian drops one spot after going 4–2 to begin the year. The Knights have faced multiple Power 25 opponents already, collecting wins over Grace Christian and Weddington while dropping games to Wesleyan Christian and Cardinal Gibbons. Their depth has been a key factor as they continue to challenge themselves with a strong early schedule.
JH Rose and Cardinal Gibbons Enter the Top 10
JH Rose has surged into the Top 10 with a 5–0 start, producing offense in bunches while rotating multiple players through the lineup. Cardinal Gibbons has also shown strength both on the mound and at the plate, with its only loss coming to new No. 1 DH Conley.
Four New Teams Enter the Rankings
Myers Park, Wake Forest, West Stanly, and Providence all join the Power 25 this week. Myers Park makes the biggest splash, jumping from unranked to No. 10 after opening the season with wins over Reagan and West Forsyth during the County Clash. The Mustangs later traveled to Wilmington, where they played well throughout the trip before dropping a tight contest to Laney.
