2026 Denver Preseason ID: Quick Hits



On Sunday, February 15th, the Prep Baseball Colorado staff hosted this year's Denver Preseason ID at Next Era in Englewood, Colorado. This event featured ~60 prospects from the 2026-2029 classes and allowed our staff an opportunity to get an in-depth look at the players in attendance. Today we'll continue our deep dive into the data collected at this event within this 'Quick Hits' story.

QUICK HITS:

Travis Kenz SS / RHP / Valor Christian, CO / 2028

Kenz continues to solidify his status as Colorado’s No. 3 ranked prospect in the 2028 class, building on a standout showing from this summer’s Prep Baseball Super Sophomore Games, and in spring 2025. He owns one of the more advanced hit tools in an already deep hitter’s class, with a left-handed swing that plays with feel, twitch, balance, and the ability to spray the ball to all fields. His approach at the plate is mature, and that offensive polish is paired with the ability to handle a premium infield position. Kenz has already been up to a 96 mph top exit velocity, and he also showed two-way intrigue at this event by running his fastball up to 82.4 mph on the mound with the ability to pound the strikezone. As a freshman last spring across 83 plate appearances at the 5A level, Kenz hit .343 with 6 extra-base hits. At 6-foot, 170 Ibs, with his offensive instincts, versatility, and continued physical development ahead, Kenz remains one of the top young talents to track closely in the state.

 

 

Landon Kennell SS / RHP / Delta, CO / 2026

Landon Kennell is an uncommitted senior name to know in the state of Colorado, bringing a well-rounded and impactful skill set to the table. The 6’1”, 190-pound Delta HS standout shows advanced tools and the ability to affect the game in multiple ways. At this event, Kennell posted a 6.75 60-yard dash, an 89 mph infield throwing velocity, and a top exit velocity north of 100 mph, highlighting the present bat speed and active strength in his offensive profile. That power showed up consistently in game action during the spring 2025 season, when he hit .556 with 5 home runs, 5 triples, 12 doubles, 10 stolen bases, and a 1.589 OPS across 111 plate appearances at the 3A level. He also contributed on the mound, logging 45.2 innings and striking out 83 hitters. With elite production, loud tools, and no commitment yet in place, Kennell remains a high-follow senior prospect moving forward.

 

 

Jackson Shepherd 3B / SS / Broomfield, CO / 2027

Jackson Shepherd continues to trend upward with each look, reinforcing his status as a Future Gamer from this past summer. At 6-foot, 190 pounds, he brings plenty of present strength paired with developing athleticism, highlighted by a notable jump in speed from a 6.89 to a 6.74 60-yard dash in just six months. Offensively, Shepherd showed his ability to impact the baseball, posting a 97.4 mph top exit velocity and a 341-foot max batted ball distance at this event. His approach allows him to ambush pitchers in game settings, and with continued physical and athletic gains, Shepherd’s offensive ceiling continues to rise alongside his quality feel in the infield. 

 

 

Cade Filleman OF / RHP / Regis Jesuit, CO / 2027

Cade Filleman is another Future Games alum whose ceiling on the mound continues to stand out. The 6’3”, 199-pound right-hander has already been up to 90 mph, and his fastball proved especially effective in game action at the Future Games, generating plenty of ground balls against high-level hitters. The pitch is backed by strong underlying metrics, including 10.4 inches of average horizontal movement and a 12.2" average IVB, and he complements it with feel for a curveball, slider, and changeup. With his physical build and durable frame, Filleman is positioned to handle a heavy workload this spring. He also brings legitimate two-way upside, running a 7.02 60-yard dash, posting a 91 mph outfield throwing velocity, and producing a 94 mph top exit velocity at the plate. Add in his background as a standout multi-sport athlete on the football field, and Filleman profiles as a high-upside prospect with tools that continue to translate across the board.

 

 

Shane Christy SS / OF / ThunderRidge, CO / 2028

Christy reinforced his status as a name worth following with an eye-opening performance at this event. At 5’11”, 187 pounds, he pairs a compact, strong frame with athletic movement, highlighted by a 6.81 60-yard dash. The bat was the clear separator, as Christy produced loud contact across the board, posting a 103 mph top exit velocity, a 92.3 mph average EV, and a 371-foot max batted ball distance. The active bat speed consistently showed up, pointing to an offensive profile that should continue to play as he moves forward. We can also tell you that Christy hit .343 as a freshman in spring 2025 with 9 stolen bases and 6 extra-base hits across 81 plate appearances at the 5A level. With his combination of strength, speed, and impact at the plate, Christy is trending in the right direction for a potentially massive 2026.

 

 

Jackson Cadwallader SS / RHP / Arapahoe, CO / 2027

Another standout two-way prospect from the event is Jackson Cadwallader, a name worth following closely as the spring approaches. At 6’2”, 192 pounds, he brings a strong, athletic frame and moves well, as shown by a 6.84 60-yard dash and an 87 mph infield throwing velocity. Offensively, Cadwallader flashed real impact with a 101 mph top exit velocity, underscoring the strength and bat speed in his profile. On the mound, his upside is equally intriguing, as he worked his fastball up to 87.1 mph with an average spin rate around 2200 rpm, pairing it with a slider and a deceptive 80 mph splitter. With tools that translate on both sides of the ball and continued projection ahead, Cadwallader profiles as a high-upside two-way follow moving into the spring.

 

 

Brody Martinez OF / RHP / Brighton, CO / 2028

Brody Martinez is a rising sophomore out of Brighton HS who’s quickly becoming a name to keep a close eye on as his development continues. At 5’10”, 155 pounds, he owns a light, high-waisted frame with long levers and easy twitch, pointing to plenty of physical projection ahead. Martinez offers intriguing two-way upside, showing an advanced mound presence for his age and a fastball that has already climbed to 86.5 mph with an average spin rate around 2200 rpm. He pairs it with a slider in a similar spin range and a developing changeup at 72 mph with roughly 1500 rpm of spin. The athleticism shows up across the board, as he ran a 6.88 60-yard dash, posted an 87 mph outfield velocity, and registered a 92 mph top exit velocity at the plate. With his combination of arm talent, athletic traits, and projection, Martinez is a rising underclassman worth monitoring closely this spring.

 

 

Harrison Feagans C / 1B / Valor Christian, CO / 2028

Harrison Feagans continues to emerge as a two-way prospect with tools that translate on both sides of the ball. The 6’1”, 178-pound athlete has steadily added physicality and strength, and on the mound he stands out with a fastball reaching 87 mph and a max spin rate of 2400 rpm, paired with a quality slider sitting 77–81 mph with 2300 rpm of spin. Defensively, Feagans shows advanced actions behind the plate, posting a 1.90–2.10 pop time and an 81 mph catcher throwing velocity, giving him a strong foundation to build on. At the plate, he flashed emerging power with a 97.3 mph top exit velocity and a max batted ball distance of 345 feet. With his combination of pitching upside, offensive potential, and continued physical growth, Feagans profiles as a two-way prospect to follow closely as he matures.

 

 

Ryan Jenkins RHP / Chaparral, CO / 2027

Ryan Jenkins is a physically imposing 6’6”, 252-pound right-hander whose frame alone draws attention, and his tools on the mound only add to the intrigue. At this event, he worked a fastball sitting 86–88 mph and paired it with a projectable changeup around 1400 rpm and a slider near 2300 rpm, giving him a three-pitch mix with clear projection. With his size, present arm strength, and developing feel for multiple pitches, Jenkins profiles as a high-ceiling arm whose velocity and effectiveness should continue to climb as he throws more innings. 

 

 

Cash Carpio SS / RHP / Rampart, CO / 2028

Cash Carpio is a 6-foot, 174-pound two-way prospect whose athleticism and twitchy movements make him a player to monitor closely. Offensively, he already shows serious pop, posting a 102 mph top exit velocity and an 83 mph infield throwing velocity, highlighting both strength and arm talent. On the mound, Carpio continues to show upside, working a fastball sitting 84–86 mph and complementing it with a curveball, slider, and changeup, giving him a well-rounded arsenal to build on. With his combination of tools, athleticism, and projection, Carpio is positioned for a potential breakout in spring 2026.

 

 

Griffin Stork 1B / LHP / Lutheran, CO / 2027

Griffin Stork is an imposing 6’5”, 190-pound prospect whose left-handed swing already plays with noticeable thump. He showcased a 98 mph top exit velocity, using explosive levers and strength that give his bat significant projection moving forward. On the mound, Stork shows developing upside with future velocity on the way, his fastball at this event topped out at 80 mph with a full arsenal that includes a curveball, changeup, and the ability to work a sinker for strikes. With his combination of size, power, and two-way potential, Stork profiles as a high-ceiling prospect with room to grow both at the plate and on the mound.

 

 

Grady Godsey RHP / 3B / Wray, CO / 2028

Godsey, hailing from Wray, Colorado, is a 6’3”, 187-pound prospect with a frame that still carries projection and room for added strength. At this event, he flashed emerging power with a 96 mph top exit velocity, pairing it with a fastball up to 82.3 mph that he throws with feel and command. On the mound, Godsey showed promise with a curveball spinning over 2200 rpm, complemented by a developing slider and changeup in the 72–74 mph range with low/deceptive spin around 990 rpm. 

 

 

Will Paquette C / 2B / ThunderRidge, CO / 2027

Paquette made a strong impression at this event, turning in one of the standout rounds of BP with a 97 mph top exit velocity and a 345-foot max batted ball distance. The junior shows active strength and a connected, powerful swing, generating notable bat speed that already plays at a high level. His upside isn’t limited to the plate either, Paquette flashed defensive tools with a 77 mph catcher throwing velocity and a 1.96 top pop time, showing advanced actions behind the dish. That two-way impact was also evident in game action, as he hit .328 as a sophomore last spring at the 5A level across 69 plate appearances. With his combination of power, defensive polish, and proven performance, Paquette profiles as a strong prospect to follow closely moving forward.
