Waco Preseason ID: Position Player Analysis

On Saturday, January 10th, the PB Texas staff traveled to McLennan Community College in Waco, TX, to host the Waco Preseason ID, an open event for all high school classes.
More than 20 players made their way to McLennan CC this past weekend and participated in a pro-style workout, gathering unrivaled access to data through our state-of-the-art tech partners, as well as in-depth scouting analysis from our Prep Baseball Texas staff.
We've already posted a Statistical Analysis from the event, highlighting more of the traditional statistical categories, as well as a Quick Hits, highlighting some of the events top performers, while also posting Data Dives for both Pitchers and Position Players.
Today, we take a look at the scouting reports on every position player in attendance from the event.

Gabriel Armenta, Copperas Cove (TX), 2027
Positional Profile: 3B/RHP LHH/INF Solid build/frame to add strength. Looking for speed to improve some. Developing actions on the infield. Best suited for 1st right now, can go to 3rd with increased raw arm strength. Solid bat/power combo, shows line drive contact now. Will develop at plate. RHP repeats delivery, looking for arm speed to firm. Shows feel for secondary. CB shows depth with solid spin, feel for change present. Looking for arm speed to increase for velo jump. Like the secondary, around the zone.
Body: 6-1, 216 pounds. Solid build/frame. Width to back and shoulders. Good middle/lower.
Hit: LHH. Toe tap stride. Rotational back foot, get fully turned and driving forward towards pitcher. Hits into firm front leg, body laid back. Work get upright at point of contact. Stride foot rolls onto side of foot and into heal, killing use of lower 1/2 and hindering posture. Keep foot into ground and off heal. Barrel/hands in solid position to start, slight wrap behind head present. Takes solid path to zone with both, swing works. Uphill path created by posture. Colten Barkdull, Quitman (TX), 2026
Positional Profile: OF/2B RHH/OF Can add strength. Run time will firm some. Steady outfielder, aggressive to baseball. Solid bat/power combo in future, shows solid contact off barrel, can firm ability to impact ball. Watch progress.
Body: 5-9, 157 pounds. Avg width to shoulders and back. Good lower, can add strength.
Hit: RHH. Solid hit approach. Rotational back foot, drives lower 1/2 forward. Hits into firm front leg, solid posture. Stride foot stays into ground, hits from ground up, Develop core strength with rotational exercises to firm rotational acceleration. Barrel/hands in good launch position. Jackson Brunner, Hubbard (TX), 2027
Positional Profile: SS RHH/INF Solid build/frame to add strength. Run time will firm some. Developing actions on defense, corner infielder, best suited for 1st until raw arm strength develops. Project solid bat/power combo in future. Developing player.
Body: 6-1, 182 pounds. Good build/frame to add strength. Avg width to shoulders and back. Good lower.
Hit: RHH. Rotational back foot, gets stuck, get fully turned and on time. Drive foot forward into ball of foot to fully engage lower 1/2 in swing. Hits into firm front leg, solid posture. Stride foot stays into ground, hits from ground up. Develop core strength with rotational exercises to improve rotational acceleration. Barrel/hands in good launch positon. Remigio Castillo, Granger (TX), 2028
Positional Profile: OF/LHP LHH/OF Projects well for strength. Run time will firm, moves well. Solid defender in the outfield. Arm strength will firm. Solid bat/power combo, flashes ability for hard contact. Player to watch develop.
Body: 6-0, 160 pounds. Projects well physically. Avg width to shoulders and back. Good middle/lower.
Hit: LHH. Rotational back foot, foot gets stuck in rotation. Get foot fully turned and on time increasing use of lower 1/2 in swing. Driving forward. Hits into firm front leg, solid posture. Stride foot stays into ground, hits from ground up. Barrel/hands in good launch position. Hands work down and out slightly creating length. Take hands/barrel on direct path to hit zone. Cooper Chitsey, Anderson (TX), 2027
Positional Profile: OF/LHP LHH/OF Projects well physically. Chance to develop into 6.9 runner. Solid defender in outfield, moves well to baseball. Raw arm strength will firm. Solid bat/power combo, shows ability to barrel baseball with hard contact. Developing player, will be fun to watch develop. LHP repeats delivery. Strike thrower. Looking for velocity to increase. Can spin CB for slurvy/sweep action, feel present. Change with tail/sink. Watch progress.
Body: 5-9, 172 pounds. Width to shoulders and back Solid middle and lower. Will add increased strength.
Hit: LHH. Linear movement to back foot, work to drive back foot towards pitcher on pitches middle/in to fully engage lower 1/2 in swing. Foot can slide away now on away pitches for balance. Hits into firm front leg, posture laid back, work to get little more upright at contact. Uphill path with laid back posture. Stride foot stays into ground well. Barrel/hands in good launch position. Dakota Coleman, Dallas Christian (TX), 2027
Positional Profile: LHP/1B LHHDH/1B Solid build/frame to add strength. Moves well around bag at 1st, developing actions. Range will be okay. Raw arm strength will improve. Solid bat/power combo. Upside to power, shows ability to impact baseball, can leave ballpark. Like the bat. LHP repeats delivery, arm works. Arm speed will firm. Both sides of plate with FB. CB varies action, early, soft now. Change with sink, must firm command. Looking for arm speed to increase to firm stuff.
Body: 5-11, 212 pounds. Solid build/frame. Width to back and shoulders. Thickness to lower.
Hit: LHH. Toe tap stride, back foot gets stuck, get fully turned and on time. Driving back foot forward towards pitcher. Hits in firm front leg, solid posture. Stride foot into ground, solid hitting from ground up. Barrel/hands in good launch position, takes good path to baseball. Ryan Dickinson, Lorena (TX), 2027
Positional Profile: OF/RHP RHH/OF Projects well physically. Speed will firm in future. Defensively has versatility. Solid outfielder, actions developing on the infield, ability to play all over infield. Project solid bat/power with adjustments. Athletic mover, watch progress. RHP repeats delivery, arm works well. Arm speed will develop. FB with quality tail action increasing to arm side. Around zone. CB with depth, varies action. Split change, tail/sink with deception, ability to land. Does it easy on the mound. Will develop.
Body: 5-10, 163 pounds. Good build/frame to add strength. Avg width to shoulders and back. Good lower.
Hit: RHH. Length to stride, rotational back foot. Work to develop linear movement forward with length between feet after stride. This will help engage lower 1/2 in swing. Hits into firm front leg with good posture. Stride foot stays into ground, hits from ground up. Barrel/hands in good position to launch. Takes initial solid path to hit zone. Cuts off swing with front shoulder flying open. Work to keep front shoulder closed allowing ability to say thru baseball with extension. Think less is more with front 1/2 of body, use back 1/2 of body to generate bat speed. 62.1 mph bat speed with 7g of rotational acceleration.

Benjamin Luks, St. John's (TX), 2029

Tommy McIntyre, McCallum (TX), 2027
Positional Profile: C/RHP RHH/C solid build/frame with strength, will add more. Run time will firm some. Received well in pen, hands work catching/framing. Quickness to hands with feel to block. Shows developing raw arm strength. Solid bat/power combo, hits baseball hard off barrel. Player to watch develop, athletic enough to play corner OF spot or 1st as well. Watch progress.
Body: 6-1, 206 pounds. Solid build/frame, width to shoulders and back. Good lower. Showing strength now, will add.

Cade Mikolajewski, Tomball (TX), 2028
Positional Profile: C/2B RHH/INF/C Projects well physically. Run time will firm, chance to be 6.9 runner. Actions developing on the infield, moves well. Will have infield versatility. Received well in bullpen, hands work overall, feel for blocking. Solid bat/power coming, hits balls hard off barrel. Will develop, watch progress.
Body: 5-10, 160 pounds. Projects well physically. Width to shoulders and back, good lower for strength.
Hit: RHH. Rotational back foot, make sure to get fully turned and on time to fully engage lower in swing. Ethan Oldfield, Rockwall-Heath (TX), 2028
Positional Profile: 1B/RHP RHH/OF Solid build/frame to add strength. Run time will firm. Developing in the outfield, will be avg defender in future. Solid bat/power combe developing. Shows ability to impact baseball at times now. Watch progress. RHP Deception with delivery and arm action created, adds to stuff. FB with avg life, tail action to both sides of plate. Slider showing nice spin, flashes quality finish, avg pitch future. Change with action, deception will firm. Strike thrower in pen. Watch develop, interesting on the mound.
Body: 6-4, 190 pounds. Solid build/frame. Width to back. Good lower, will add strength.

Dax Pharris, Bosqueville (TX), 2027

Body: 5-9, 175 pounds. Good build/frame. Width to back and shoulders. Good lower. Will add more strength.

Hits into firm front leg, posture laid back at contact, work to get more upright at contact. Good stride foot, stays into ground, hits from ground up. Project solid bat/power combo.. Player to develop, adding strength will help with accessing tools/ability.
Body: 5-8, 138 pounds. Avg width to shoulders and back. Good middle and lower. Will add needed strength.

Solid bat/power combo developing. Player with good fundamentals. Adding strength will help firm ability to get to tools. Watch progress. RHP athletic.
