2026 MOKAN Summer ID/Rising Stars ID: Quick Hits

On Tuesday, June 30th, the Prep Baseball Kansas staff traveled to Johnson County CC in Overland Park, KS to host the annual MOKAN Summer ID/Rising Stars ID. This event was open for 2027-2031 class members, and featured 66 players from the area.

All of our events offer players the opportunity to update their recruiting resume and showcase their talents in front of our staff. We also use these events as identifiers for future invite-only events, like the Preseason All-State, our summer Top Prospect Games, and the prestigious Prep Baseball Future Games that takes place at the tail end of the summer. Shortly after the event, our staff compiled several of the day’s stat leaders inside our traditional ‘Stat Story’, which you can find HERE. 

Today, after combing through our notes from the day, we’ve compiled some of the event’s standouts below within these ‘Quick Hits’.

KANSAS FOLLOWS

INF Liam Axtell (Blue Valley, 2028) turned in an all around athletic performance at Tuesday's MOKAN Summer ID. Built with present strength in a 5-foot-11, 173-pound frame, Axtell showcased quick-twitch speed by running an one of the day's top 60-yard dashes at 6.75. His athleticism carried over to the batter's box, where he generated smooth bat speed (72.1 mph max) and a 20.9 mph peak hand speed to produce a 92.9 mph top exit velocity, driving his furthest hit 335 feet. Defensively, he moved fluidly across the dirt while recording an 81 mph throw across the diamond, solidifying a multi-tooled profile to watch closely.

Liam Axtell

C/RHP Jack Bakalar (Blue Valley Southwest, 2029) put together a solid two-way display during his trip to Overland Park. Standing at 5-foot-11, 180 pounds, the physical soon to be sophomore backstop consistently stayed on the barrel in BP, elevating a ball 301 feet while topping out at an 89.8 mph exit velocity. Behind the plate, Bakalar flashed quick transfers that produced pop times down to 2.05 seconds. He later took the rubber and ran his fastball up to 80.9 mph with command, shaping up as a balanced two-way underclass follow.

OF Killian Carlile (Olathe Northwest, 2027) showed clean, athletic actions from an uncommitted soon to be senior look. Possessing a long, lean 6-foot-1, 165-pound frame with plenty of physical projection left to come, Carlile posted a 22.2 mph max hand speed at the dish with a 95.5 mph peak exit velocity (87.1 mph average) and showed reliable arm strength in the outfield, topping out at 84 mph on his firmest throw home.

INF/RHP David Ferreira (Gardner-Edgerton, 2028) emerged as a two-way winner from Tuesday's look. Packing functional strength into a 5-foot-9, 149-pound frame, Ferreira’s arm talent stood out on the infield with an 85 mph throw across the diamond. That arm strength translated directly to the mound, where he pumped his fastball up to 85.3 mph with high-spin traits (2,262 RPM peak) while pairing it with a sharp 70–72 mph slider (2,264 RPM). Offensively, he added an 89.5 mph peak exit velocity, making him an intriguing junior follow.

1B Griffen Forck (Spring Hill, 2028) brings an imposing, strong build to the field at 6-foot-1, 220 pounds. The right-handed hitting corner infielder demonstrated natural strength and leverage at the plate, averaging 89.2 mph per batted ball and peaking at 96.6 mph, showcasing steady progress as he continues to refine his overall toolset.

OF Carter Ingerson (Tonganoxie, 2029) put his foot speed on full display at the MOKAN Summer ID, running a sub-7.00 60-yard dash at 6.95 seconds. Built at a lean 5-foot-8, 146 pounds, the left-handed hitter backed up that athleticism in the box, generating impressive pull-side power for his age with a 91.1 mph peak exit velocity and driving his best ball 318 feet.

OF Jeremiah Roberson (Olathe East, 2028) stands out immediately with an imposing 6-foot-4, 207-pound frame that possesses raw power. Roberson consistently punished baseballs throughout his BP round, averaging 87.4 mph per batted ball while topping out at a 97.1 mph exit velocity and a 332-foot max distance. Despite his size, he moves with impressive athleticism, sneaking under the seven-second threshold with a 6.99 60-yard dash to round out a high-upside power profile.

Jeremiah Roberson

C Talan Robertson (Washburn Rural, 2027) turned in one of the loudest overall offensive rounds at the June 30 showcase. Built at a physical 5-foot-11, 191 pounds, Robertson swung a fast right-handed barrel that registered an event-best 79.1 mph peak bat speed. That elite quickness through the zone translated into heavy impact, as he barreled a 99.7 mph max exit velocity and launched his furthest drive 346 feet. Defensively, he showed quick work out of the crouch, recording pop times down to 1.94 seconds.

Talan Robertson

MISSOURI FOLLOWS

INF Chandler Barb (Marshfield, 2027) brought a physical, broad-shouldered presence to the MOKAN Summer ID, standing at 6-foot-2, 197 pounds. The right-handed hitter displayed an explosive barrel in batting practice, registering a 22.0 mph max hand speed and a 74.2 mph peak bat speed. That swing speed translated to heavy impact, as Barb drove his hardest hit ball 345 feet with a 96.4 mph peak exit velocity (85.6 mph average). Defensively, his natural arm strength stood out across the infield, pumping an 87 mph throw across the diamond.

Chandler Barb

1B Miles Bennaka (Lee’s Summit, 2028) possesses an intriguing, highly projectable frame at 6-foot-5, 177 pounds with tools that jump off the page for a corner infielder. Bennaka turned heads during the workout by posting an impressive 6.86 60-yard dash, showing rare speed and athleticism for his length. At the plate, he unleashed quick hands (24.0 mph max hand speed) and a 71.7 mph bat speed to generate a 94.5 mph peak exit velocity with an 83.5 mph average, backing up a high-upside offensive profile.

1B/RHP Parker Best (Liberty North, 2029) put together one of the loudest overall performances of Tuesday's trip to Overland Park. Built with immense present strength in a 6-foot-0, 221-pound frame, the sophomore produced eye-opening power metrics during BP, hammering a ball 393 feet and recording an event leading 102.7 mph peak exit velocity. He showed smooth infield actions paired with an 85 mph throw across the diamond before hopping on the mound. On the rubber, Best ran his fastball up to 83.2 mph while showing feel for a high-spin curveball (2,303 RPM) at 69-70 mph, a 70-71 mph slider, and a tumbling changeup at 72-75 mph to solidify a high-impact two-way profile.

Parker Best

INF/RHP Kale Castaner (Rock Bridge, 2027) flashed dynamic two-way athleticism from a long, twitchy 6-foot-1, 165-pound frame. Castaner kickstarted his day by running a 6.73 60-yard dash, establishing himself as one of the event's premier movers. He carried that athleticism into the box, using a 19.7 mph hand speed to average 87.9 mph per barrel with a 96.2 mph top exit velocity, launching a his best ball 337 feet. Defensively, he showed rangy actions and an 84 mph infield arm that carried seamlessly onto the mound, where he worked his fastball up to 83.6 mph alongside a 76-77 mph cutter and a sharp breaking ball mix.

Kale Castaner

C Mitchell Earnest (Rockhurst, 2029) is a physical freshman backstop who already holds an imposing 6-foot-3, 200-pound build. Earnest produced steady, leverage-filled contact throughout his BP round, leaning on a 22.3 mph max hand speed and 73.2 mph bat speed to barrel a 92.9 mph max exit velocity (84.6 mph average) while driving a ball 344 feet. Behind the dish, he flashed quick transfers out of the crouch, logging pop times down to 2.04 seconds.

OF Peyton Felton (Logan-Rogersville, 2028) established himself as a quick-twitch athlete to follow in Missouri’s junior class. Standing at 5-foot-11, 165 pounds, Felton showcased high-end foot speed by turning in a sub-6.90 60-yard dash at 6.83 seconds. His athleticism translated smoothly to the box, where he swung a quick barrel with a 21.4 mph max hand speed to produce a 90.6 mph peak exit velocity. He completed a solid all-around day with an 83 mph bullet from the outfield, rounding out a toolsy profile.

INF Carter Geisler (Hallsville, 2027) brought physical presence to this look, stepping into the box at 6-foot-0, 193 pounds. The left-handed hitting corner infielder repeatedly drove leveraged contact to the deep parts of the field, launching his furthest hit 330 feet with a 92.5 mph max exit velocity. Defensively, he showed functional arm strength across the diamond with an 81 mph top throw on the dirt.

RHP/1B Cole Hass (St. Joseph Central, 2027) possesses an unmissable, towering 6-foot-7, 205-pound frame with high-upside projectability on both sides of the ball. On the mound, the right-hander filled up the zone with an 84-86 mph fastball that offered heavy arm side action, mixing in a 72-73 mph slider and a 78-79 mph changeup with late tumble. That size and leverage translated directly to the plate, where Hass generated 70.3 mph bat speed and a 22.9 mph hand speed to hammer a 90.9 mph peak exit velocity and send a his futhest barrel 327 feet. He capped off an eye-opening two-way look by topping out at 85 mph across the infield.

Cole Hass

INF Colby Henderson (Harrisonville, 2027) offers an intriguing, long-levered build at 6-foot-1, 150 pounds with room to continue adding strength. Henderson consistently found the barrel throughout his BP round, posting an 85.3 mph average exit velocity and topping out at 91.1 mph with a peak distance of 315 feet. He backed up his offensive performance by flashing a 81 mph arm across the diamond with reliable footwork to pair.

INF Chance Koll (Lincoln, 2027) showed off advanced barrel control during his trip to Overland Park. Built at 5-foot-11, 158 pounds, Koll posted an impressive 63% sweet-spot percentage while barreling a 91.9 mph top exit velocity. He added solid athleticism on the turf, logging a 7.06 60-yard dash to round out his day.

INF/RHP Hank Lee (Centralia, 2028) put together a solid all-around showing at the MOKAN Summer ID. Frame-wise, the 6-foot-0, 155-pound soon to be junior displays plenty of room for continued physical projection. On the turf, Lee broke the sub-7.0 second threshold with a 6.97 60-yard dash, carrying that athleticism onto the dirt where he threw 83 mph across the diamond. In the box, his smooth right-handed stroke generated a 92.3 mph peak exit velocity, sending his best ball 320 feet. He rounded out his day on the mound by running his fastball up to 83.1 mph while showing feel for a three-pitch mix that included a breaking ball and changeup.

RHP/INF Zach Long (Kickapoo, 2030) stood out as an incoming freshman with advanced pitchability for his age. Listed at 5-foot-9, 172 pounds, Long took the mound and ran his fastball up to 82.1 mph (sitting 80-82 mph) with notable spin up to 2,272 RPM. He paired the heater with a tight slider at 68-70 mph that spun up to 2,423 RPM, alongside a 72-74 mph changeup, pointing to a high-upside arm in the 2030 class.

INF Blayke Morgan (Blue Springs South, 2027) showed off quick-twitch athleticism throughout Tuesday's look. Built at an athletic 5-foot-10, 165 pounds, the left-handed hitter logged a sub-7.00 60-yard dash at 6.90 seconds. Morgan’s quick hands (21.8 mph max hand speed) and 70.8 mph bat speed produced consistent line-drive contact, resulting in a 91.1 mph top exit velocity with a strong 85.5 mph average. Defensively, he displayed smooth infield footwork and an 84 mph throw across the diamond.

Blayke Morgan

INF/RHP Cam Riddle (Republic, 2028) flashes a lean, developing 5-foot-8, 141-pound frame with quick actions on both sides of the ball. On the dirt, Riddle showed natural body control and fluid footwork to pair with a solid 79 mph throw across the infield. Offensively, his quick 21.6 mph hand speed produced an 88.9 mph peak exit velocity (81.3 mph average). He then jumped on the bump, pumping his fastball up to 81 mph and spinning a tight slider up to 2,296 RPM.

OF Boone Sanders (Smithville, 2028) presents an ultra-projectable 6-foot-3, 164-pound frame with long levers that make for a loose, high-upside profile. Sanders put his long levers on display in BP, whipping a quick barrel (70.7 mph peak bat speed, 21.2 mph hand speed) to hammer a peak exit velocity of 95.4 mph while averaging 85.9 mph per batted ball. He repeatedly elevated to the deep parts of the yard, launching his furthest barrel 359 feet. Sanders completed an all around showing by recording an 82 mph throw to third from the outfield.

1B Talon Skouby (Fair Grove, 2028) made his presence felt in the batter's box with heavy left-handed raw power throughout his BP round. Featuring an strong 6-foot-4, 285-pound frame, Skouby’s Blast metrics, highlighted by an 87.4 mph peak bat speed and a 23.8 mph max hand speed, produced a one of the day's peak exit velocities of 98.2 mph (88.9 mph average) and drove a ball 362 feet into the deep outfield gap.

OF Lucas Tucker (Fort Osage, 2028) turned heads with dynamic foot speed from an athletic 6-foot-1, 175-pound frame. Tucker put his quick-twitch athleticism on full display on the turf to kick off the day, burning an elite 6.69 60-yard dash. At the plate, he consistently found the barrel with a quick right-handed stroke, generating a 97 mph exit velocity. He backed up those offensive and speed metrics with smooth, natural footwork in the outfield to round out a high-upside profile in Missouri's soon to be junior class.
