EMERSON, GA - The 2026 Southeast Super Sophomore Games were held August 1-2 at LakePoint Sports Complex, bringing together nearly 300 of the top prospects in the 2029 class from across the Deep South. Players representing Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, and Tennessee competed on state specific teams, providing one of the premier stages of the summer for the region's top young talent.

Today, we take a closer look at the standout data, measurable metrics, and top statistical performers from the event, highlighting the players who made the biggest impression through both their workouts and on-field performances.

MISSISSIPPI QUICK HITS 📓

Aden Bell RHP / 3B / Hartfield Academy, MS / 2029

RHP Aden Bell (2029), is a 5-foot-9, 160-pound right-handed pitcher from Hartfield Academy, continues to emerge as one of the more exciting young arms on the Mississippi high school scene. An athletic mover with a repeatable delivery, Bell attacks hitters with a fastball that reaches the upper 80s and shows the ability to consistently work in the strike zone. His best secondary offering is a sharp slider that he confidently locates just off the plate to right-handed hitters, generating plenty of swing-and-miss while also inducing weak contact. He also continues to develop a quality changeup, giving him the foundation of a well-rounded three-pitch arsenal. Bell's combination of athleticism, pitchability, and competitive nature allows his stuff to play up, and with continued physical development, he has the potential to become one of the more dominant pitchers in Mississippi over the next few seasons. He is a prospect that college recruiters should be tracking closely as his development continues.

Grady Bledsoe SS / OF / North Pontotoc, MS / 2029

INF Grady Bledsoe (2029), is a 5-foot-10, 170-pound infielder from North Pontotoc High School, is quickly establishing himself as one of the top up-and-coming prospects in Mississippi. While his primary position is on the infield, his athleticism should also allows him to play the outfield at a high level if needed. An outstanding mover, Bledsoe posted a 6.70-second 60-yard dash that translates into excellent range and overall athleticism on the field. Defensively, he showcased a strong arm with throws up to 89 mph across the infield, pairing developing glove work and soft hands with the ability to make plays all over the dirt. At the plate, the right-handed hitter features a line-drive swing with a mature middle-to-pull side approach, consistently finding the barrel while already displaying impressive power for his age. His exit velocities have reached 96 mph, a strong indicator of the offensive upside still to come as he continues to mature physically. With his athleticism, defensive versatility, present strength, and continued projection, Bledsoe has all the tools to become one of Mississippi's premier prospects and is a player college recruiters should begin tracking closely.

Gavin Bramlett OF / 3B / Sumrall, MS / 2029

OF Gavin Bramlett (2029) is a  5-foot-8, 170-pound outfielder from Sumrall High School, was one of the breakout performers at the Southeast Super Sophomore Games, putting together an impressive weekend that showcased just how much his game has progressed over the past couple of seasons. While he may not possess the biggest frame, Bramlett consistently played bigger than his size, collecting multiple barrels during game action while also turning in an outstanding batting practice session. The right-handed hitter displayed legitimate gap-to-gap power, producing exit velocities up to 98 mph while averaging over 90 mph throughout his BP round, a testament to the consistency of his bat speed and barrel control. Defensively, he showed a solid arm from the outfield with throws up to 85 mph and also offers the versatility to step behind the plate when needed, increasing his value to a program. Bramlett's continued physical development, offensive production, and competitive approach have elevated his profile, and his performance at the Southeast Super Sophomore Games confirmed that he is a prospect whose stock is continuing to rise.

Tucker Elliott OF / LHP / Myrtle Attendance Center, MS / 2029

LHP Tucker Elliott (2029), the 5-foot-10, 160-pound left-handed pitcher from Myrtle High School, may have delivered the most impressive pitching performance of the Southeast Super Sophomore Games. Elliott showcased an advanced combination of stuff, command, and pitchability, working his fastball up to 86 mph while demonstrating excellent feel for a polished three-pitch mix. His changeup complemented the fastball well, but it was his slider that truly stood out, spinning up to 2,614 RPM with late, sharp action that generated consistent swing-and-miss. Elliott showed the confidence to throw all of his pitches in any count, attacking hitters with the poise of a much more experienced arm. His clean delivery, projectable frame, and advanced feel for sequencing allow his arsenal to play even better than the radar gun suggests. With continued physical development and his already impressive pitchability, Elliott projects as one of the top left-handed arms in Mississippi over the next couple of seasons and should attract significant attention from college recruiters.

Murphy Gordon SS / 2B / Starkville High School, MS / 2029

INF Murphy Gordon (2029), the 5-foot-10, 150-pound infielder from Starkville High School, turned in a very strong performance and continues to prove he is the type of player every coach wants in the lineup. Gordon plays the game the right way, combining solid tools with high baseball IQ and a relentless approach. He showcased his athleticism by posting a 6.94-second 60-yard dash, displaying excellent first-step quickness that translates into outstanding range on the infield. Defensively, he showed dependable actions, soft hands, and a strong arm that reached 84 mph across the diamond, giving him the ability to make plays from multiple angles. At the plate, Gordon continues to trend upward offensively, using a line-drive approach to spray the baseball to all fields while showing developing power that should continue to emerge as he matures physically. His balanced skill set, instincts, and consistent style of play project well toward the top of a lineup, where he has the ability to set the tone offensively and impact the game in multiple ways. Gordon is a polished young prospect whose development will be worth following closely.

Price Grantham SS / 2B / Oxford High School, MS / 2029

INF Price Grantham (2029), the 5-foot-10, 160-pound infielder from Oxford High School, was one of the biggest eye-openers at the Southeast Super Sophomore Games and quickly established himself as a prospect to watch. Grantham has plenty of physical development still ahead of him, and with added strength and maturity, he has the potential to develop into one of the top prospects in Mississippi. Defensively, he was exceptionally steady at shortstop, displaying sure hands, outstanding range, and smooth, accurate arm action with throws up to 85 mph across the diamond. His athleticism was evident with a 6.77-second 60-yard dash, allowing him to cover ground with ease and make difficult plays look routine. At the plate, Grantham showed a polished offensive approach, producing exit velocities up to 93 mph while consistently using a line-drive swing and working the middle of the field with maturity beyond his years. His combination of athleticism, defensive reliability, offensive consistency, and long-term projection makes him one of the more exciting young players in the state. Grantham is unquestionably a must follow prospect, and his progression over the next couple of seasons will be exciting to watch.

William Gunn Jr OF / RHP / St. Patrick Catholic High School, MS / 2029

OF William Gunn Jr. (2029), the outfielder from St. Patrick High School, was one of the standout performers at the Southeast Super Sophomore Games and made a lasting impression with both his tools and in-game production. Gunn delivered one of the loudest swings of the summer, launching a towering home run over the left-center field wall that showcased his developing power and ability to impact the baseball. He continued to swing the bat well throughout the weekend, collecting multiple hits during game play and consistently producing quality at-bats. Defensively, Gunn displayed a strong, accurate arm from the outfield with throws up to 86 mph while showing the athleticism to cover plenty of ground. He also turned in a 6.87-second 60-yard dash, highlighting the speed that complements his all-around game. With his combination of athleticism, offensive upside, defensive tools, and continued physical development, Gunn is clearly trending in the right direction and is a prospect college recruiters should continue to monitor closely.

Chase Howard SS / 2B / Jackson Academy, MS / 2029

INF Chase Howard (2029), the 5-foot-7, 165-pound infielder from Jackson Academy, played much bigger than his size at the Southeast Super Sophomore Games, turning in one of the more impressive all-around performances of the weekend. Howard starred in game action on Saturday, collecting multiple hits, including an impressive home run to left field that highlighted the strength and bat speed packed into his compact frame. He also showcased his athleticism with a 6.78-second 60-yard dash, displaying the quickness and range to handle multiple positions on the field. Defensively, Howard showed dependable actions and arm strength into the low 80s, giving him the versatility to contribute wherever he's needed. Offensively, he profiles as a catalyst at the top of a lineup, consistently putting together quality at-bats and bringing an energetic, competitive style of play that elevates those around him. A former Junior Future Games participant, Howard continues to show steady progression with each viewing and is the type of gritty, high-motor player every coach wants on their roster.

William Howell OF / RHP / Clinton, MS / 2029

RHP William Howell (2029), the 6-foot-2, 170-pound right-handed pitcher from Clinton High School, may possess the highest long-term upside of any Mississippi arm that competed at the Southeast Super Sophomore Games. Howell features easy, loose arm action, and creates excellent leverage down the mound, while getting outstanding extension out front at release, allowing his fastball to play even harder than the radar gun indicates. As he continues to refine his mechanics, he is learning to consistently repeat his delivery, which should lead to improved command and continued velocity gains. He worked his fastball up to 87 mph with plenty more still in the tank, showing the type of arm speed that projects extremely well. He also flashed a developing secondary arsenal highlighted by a tight slider that consistently generated both weak contact and swing-and-miss. His athleticism, projectable frame, advanced mechanics, and ability to create extension make him one of the more exciting young pitchers in the state. With his combination of present stuff, outstanding projection, and continued mechanical refinement, Howell is a must follow prospect and a pitcher college recruiters should prioritize evaluating over the next several seasons.

Easton Hughes 3B / C / Center Hill High School, MS / 2029

C/RHP Easton Hughes (2029), the catcher and right-handed pitcher from Center Hill High School, was one of the biggest surprises at the Southeast Super Sophomore Games, emerging as an exciting two-way prospect in Mississippi's 2029 class. Behind the plate, Hughes showcased impressive defensive ability with throws up to 76 mph and pop times as low as 1.93, while continuing to develop the quick footwork and clean transfers that project well for the position. Offensively, he displayed a mature approach during batting practice, using a line-drive swing to consistently drive the baseball from the middle of the field to the pull side with authority. Hughes also impressed on the mound, running his fastball up to 84 mph while flashing significant upside. His changeup effectively killed spin and created quality separation from the fastball, and he showed encouraging feel for a developing curveball that should continue to improve with experience. With his athleticism, defensive tools behind the plate, and legitimate upside on the mound, Hughes is an exciting two-way prospect whose stock is trending upward and one college recruiters should continue to monitor closely.

Dawson Lewis SS / 2B / Northwest Rankin, MS / 2029

INF Dawson Lewis (2029), the 6-foot, 175-pound infielder from Northwest Rankin High School, continues to make impressive strides and is developing into one of the more exciting prospects in Mississippi. A former Junior Future Games participant, Lewis has added noticeable strength and maturity to his frame, and the improvement is showing throughout every aspect of his game. He posted a 6.82-second 60-yard dash, highlighting the athleticism that allows him to impact the game on both sides of the ball. Offensively, the right-handed hitter has taken a significant step forward, producing exit velocities up to 99 mph while displaying outstanding bat-to-ball skills and the ability to drive pitches wherever they are thrown. His line-drive approach is complemented by emerging power, including the ability to leave the ballpark and drive the baseball with authority to the opposite field. Defensively, Lewis recorded throws up to 85 mph across the infield and possesses the athleticism, range, and instincts to play virtually anywhere on the diamond. With his continued physical development, well-rounded tool set, and high baseball IQ, Lewis is a must follow prospect whose stock should continue to rise over the next few seasons.

Eli McDaniels C / 3B / Mooreville, MS / 2029

C Eli McDaniels (2029), the 6-foot, 205-pound catcher from Mooreville High School, continues to establish himself as one of the premier power prospects in the country. After already making a name for himself at LakePoint Sports, McDaniels put together another outstanding performance at the Southeast Super Sophomore Games, highlighted by a towering home run to right field in the opening game of the weekend. His offensive progression continues to be impressive, as he combines advanced strength with a naturally leveraged swing that produces significant loft and game-changing power. McDaniels recorded exit velocities up to 101 mph and averaged an impressive 94 mph throughout his batting practice round, reinforcing his status as one of the top power threats in America for his class. Behind the plate, he continues to make major strides defensively, recording catcher velocities up to 78 mph with pop times as low as 1.93 seconds, showcasing quick feet, clean transfers, and the arm strength to consistently control the running game. With his rare combination of middle-of-the-order power, defensive ability, and continued development, McDaniels is an outstanding prospect whose recruitment should continue to expand nationally as more college programs get opportunities to see him.

Christian Mumford SS / RHP / Germantown, MS / 2029

INF Christian Mumford (2029), the 5-foot-10, 170-pound infielder from Germantown High School, continues to emerge as one of the fastest-rising prospects in Mississippi's 2029 class. A gifted athlete, Mumford posted a 6.71-second 60-yard dash, showcasing the speed and explosiveness that translate into outstanding range on the infield. Defensively, he displayed smooth actions, plenty of ground coverage, and a strong, accurate arm that reached 86 mph across the diamond, giving him the tools to remain on the left side of the infield. At the plate, Mumford possesses some of the best bat-to-ball skills in the state's 2029 class, consistently squaring up baseballs with a mature line-drive approach and the ability to spray hard contact to all fields. His advanced feel for the barrel, disciplined approach, and athleticism make him an ideal catalyst at the top of the lineup, where he can impact the game in multiple ways. With his well-rounded tool set, high baseball IQ, and continued physical projection, Mumford is a big-time emerging prospect and one that college recruiters should begin following closely.

Eli Roye RHP / OF / Lewisburg, MS / 2029

RHP Eli Roye (2029), the 6-foot-1, 155-pound right-handed pitcher from Lewisburg High School, turned in an outstanding performance at the Southeast Super Sophomore Games and continues to show why he is one of the more intriguing young arms in Mississippi. Working from a low three-quarter arm slot, Roye creates significant arm-side movement on his fastball, which reached 85 mph and consistently induced weak contact and ground balls. His sweeping slider was particularly effective, generating multiple swing-and-miss results with late horizontal action that proved difficult for hitters to track. He also continues to develop feel for his changeup, giving him another quality weapon to complement his fastball and slider as his arsenal continues to mature. Roye’s loose arm action, projectable 6-foot-1 frame, and steady physical development suggest there is still more velocity on the horizon. Having first caught our attention several years ago, his progression has been consistent and encouraging with every viewing. With his combination of movement, pitchability, and long-term projection, Roye is developing into one of the premier pitching prospects in Mississippi and is a must-follow arm for college recruiters over the coming years.

Britt Spivey RHP / SS / Itawamba Agricultural, MS / 2029

RHP Britt Spivey (2029), the 6-foot-1, 150-pound right-handed pitcher from Itawamba Agricultural High School, continues to emerge as a must-follow arm in Mississippi thanks to his unique delivery, pitch movement, and long-term projection. Working from a lower three-quarter arm slot, Spivey creates heavy sink and arm-side movement on a fastball that reaches the mid-80s, consistently producing weak contact and plenty of swing-and-miss despite relying heavily on movement rather than pure velocity. His best secondary offering is a sweeping slider that he commands exceptionally well, particularly when locating it just off the plate to right-handed hitters, where it consistently generates chase swings and uncomfortable at-bats. He is also developing a changeup that should continue to improve, but his sinker-slider combination already gives him a highly effective foundation and projects to remain his primary attack as he continues to mature. With his projectable frame, deceptive arm slot, and ability to consistently disrupt hitters' timing, Spivey is an exciting young arm whose upside continues to climb and is a pitcher college recruiters should make a point to follow closely. 

Kaysen Wiggins C / SS / Lewisburg, MS / 2029

C/INF Kaysen Wiggins (2029), the 5-foot-10, 165-pound catcher and infielder from Lewisburg High School, continues to establish himself as one of the more complete all-around players in Mississippi. Behind the plate, Wiggins showcases outstanding defensive tools, using exceptionally quick feet and a strong, accurate arm that reached 78 mph to produce impressive pop times as low as 1.82, making him a legitimate weapon against the running game. His athleticism extends well beyond the catching position, as he posted a 6.82-second 60-yard dash and has the versatility to play multiple positions when not behind the plate. Offensively, Wiggins consistently sprays line drives to all fields with a mature approach, but also possesses surprising power for his size, highlighted by a home run during the weekend in Atlanta. His combination of athleticism, defensive ability, offensive production, and positional versatility is complemented by a high baseball IQ and outstanding instincts that allow his game to play at an even higher level. While he may not have the biggest frame, Wiggins consistently performs like a much larger player, making him one of the more well-rounded prospects in the class and a player college recruiters should have firmly on their radar.
