With the August 1 contact date now passing for the 2028 class, our staff circles back on some of the top uncommitted 2027 prospects still left on the board.
Ka'alekahi “Ale” Kuhaulua is one of the top players still available in the 2027 class. The Kailua OF currently sits at No. 132 overall and No. 31 among outfielders in the Prep Baseball 2027 national rankings.
Kuhaulua is a physical, smooth-moving athlete with a well-rounded collection of present tools. He has shown the ability to impact the baseball, control the barrel and move naturally in center field, while his arm strength adds further value to the profile.
Already firmly established as a nationally ranked prospect, Kuhaulua is currently competing against some of the top players in the country at the Area Code Games.

Kuhaulua currently sits at No. 132 overall and No. 31 among outfielders in the Prep Baseball 2027 national rankings.
The ranking matches the quality of the overall profile. Kuhaulua brings physicality, athleticism, barrel accuracy, arm strength and the ability to play a premium outfield position. He has continued to perform against high-level competition and remains one of the more complete uncommitted players in not just Hawai'i's 2027 class but the nation.
Kuhaulua has shown a strong offensive profile built around bat speed, barrel control and present impact. His best TrackMan results include a 100+ mph max exit velocity, 88.2 mph average exit velocity and a max distance of 369 feet.
He has also reached 72.5 mph in max bat speed and produced an 80 percent hard-hit rate. The swing works with fluidity, stays through the zone and allows him to create firm contact without needing to sell out for power.
The offensive ability has continued to translate against quality pitching. His relaxed approach and ability to keep the barrel in the zone give him a strong foundation as he continues to develop physically.
Kuhaulua is a fluid athlete whose actions play naturally in the outfield. He moves well in center field, covers ground with ease and has recorded a 90 mph outfield velocity.
His best running marks include a 1.63 10-yard split and a 3.97 30-yard split. The combination of physicality, coordinated movement and defensive versatility remains a major part of his profile.
Kuhaulua remains one of the top uncommitted 2027 prospects in Hawai'i and has continued to prove himself against high-level competition. The national ranking, physicality, athleticism and present offensive tools give him one of the stronger profiles still available in the class.
