FROM THURSDAY (2.19.26)

+ JACKSON ACADEMY VS. HARTFIELD ACADEMY

Jackson Academy pulled away for a 13-3 win over Hartfield Academy on Thursday, breaking the game open with a 10-run fourth inning. Jenkins led the way, driving in five runs on three hits, including a grand slam to center field and an RBI double. The Raiders finished with 12 hits as a team, while Jenkins also earned the win on the mound. Jackson Academy now prepares to host Madison-Ridgeland Academy on Friday.

+ PETAL VS. MADISON CENTRAL

Petal held off a late rally to secure an 8-6 win over Madison Central on Thursday, pulling away with a decisive six-run fifth inning. After Madison Central briefly took the lead on Sandberg’s three-run homer, the Panthers answered with six hits in the fifth, highlighted by Howell’s two-run home run. Petal finished with 15 hits on the night, led by Barnes’ three-hit performance and multiple-hit games from Howell, Dykes, Lindsey, and Clark. Madison Central closed the gap late but couldn’t complete the comeback as Petal moves on to face Warren Central on Friday.

+ HERITAGE ACADEMY VS. MYRTLE

Myrtle cruised to an 8-1 win over Heritage Academy on Thursday, pulling away after taking the lead in the third inning. Stanton delivered the key hit with a two-run single and finished 2-for-4, while the Hawks showed patience at the plate with 10 walks and aggressiveness on the bases with seven stolen bags. On the mound, Hall was dominant in relief, firing four hitless innings with 10 strikeouts to earn the win. Myrtle played clean defense and now heads to New Albany for its next matchup on Friday.

+ SHANNON VS. VARDAMAN

Vardaman edged Shannon 5-4 on Thursday, holding on down the stretch to secure the one-run victory. The Rams scored early and added insurance in the middle innings, while Carter led the offense with two RBIs. Parker set the tone on the mound, and the bullpen did enough to close it out as Vardaman turned a key double play defensively. The Rams now prepare to travel to Bruce for their next matchup on Saturday.

+ PISGAH VS. FLORENCE

Pisgah pulled away late to secure a 10-3 win over Florence on Thursday, using a five-run seventh inning to break the game open. After Florence scored three early runs, the Dragons responded in the second to take the lead and never looked back. White earned the win on the mound, while Henley was dominant in relief, striking out seven over three scoreless innings. Pisgah finished with 10 hits as a team and now prepares to host Richland on Friday.

+ TISHOMINGO COUNTY VS. PINE GROVE

Tishomingo County earned a 4-2 win over Pine Grove on Thursday behind a dominant outing from Crum, who struck out 11 over five scoreless innings. The Braves built an early lead with runs in the first and third before holding off a late push from Pine Grove, which got on the board in the sixth on a solo home run from Shinall and an RBI single by Michael. Tishomingo County’s pitching closed it out, and Pine Grove now turns its attention to a home matchup with Kossuth on Saturday.
